When other brands are offering a no fault warranty such as Vortex you would expect this as well from the most expensive one out there. I really don’t think this is as crazy as you think it is. I really wouldn’t call them “bonehead” mistakes as accidents happen and when you buy the best you want everything along with it to be the best. Vortex is a solid business and making lots of money so obviously some businessman there is making good decisions.

I am looking to buy a 300 wsm action and barrel only. Do you know where you can find this at. Thanks

Looking for the 65 STM hd

That was my Only issue. Other than that it seemed like a great tripod. Also know the thread is 1/4 I think. Good luck.

I know I am a little late to this post but did you buy a spotter? My two cents but look at the below link. The Vortex Razor HD gives up hardly nothing to the Alphas. Good luck. http://opticsthoughts.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=65:vortex-razor-hd-20-60x85-spotting-scope&catid=6:spotting-scope-reviews&Itemid=6

I would not get this model. Get the Manfrotto 190CX or the 055CX. The 055CX is taller but will be heavier. The issue with Slik Carbon Fiber Tripods is the twist legs instead of the lever legs. I purchased the Slik 634 and returned it because the legs were just a pain to extend. It takes too long to twist each leg and extend them to what length you need them to be. I am not sure why they did this only for the carbon fiber models. Their AMT models use the lever action which is fast and easy. For some reason I didn’t see this when I purchased it. I received it and immediately noticed the legs and returned, thenpurchased the Manfortto 055CX Pro which is everything I need it to be. Of course this is all personal preference and some people like the twist legs. Good luck and hope it works out!

Take a look at some review's the two. See below link. IMO is one of the best reviews I saw out there, although nothing can compare to looking through them yourself. http://www.opticstalk.com/vortex-kaibab-15x56-and-swarovski-slcneu-15x56_topic20729.html -
Trad hunter. Could be worse. We could be shooting guided bullets at deer lol. Five whole years?...Wowsers that almost makes you an expert. So where do you draw the line with being "Traditional" Do you just walk into the hills? Saddle a wild pony...Oh...no saddle? Maybe side saddle? There is an invention called the wheel...perhaps you've heard of it? Rumor has it it makes things faster ...Wagon? Truck? Do you use binoculars? Magnifying glass? Any kind of looking glass? Camouflage? al natural? Or just some buckskin beaver? What type of arrows and broad heads do you use? Surely not that store bought Jap crap Right? Turkey or Eagle feathers? Come on we wanna see the arrows you whittled and the heads you chipped or forged. How about the bow you bowyered out of the tree you grew...please post pictures or send a telegraph.... Please! Help us...Or else I am calling shenanigans on this "Traditional" stuff. +1......Awesome!

I have some prototypes now. Might be a little while still for the EL's. They're a little tougher because of the hinge assembly. Going to try though!! Thanks! Let me know when you have some ready. Would like to take a look at them. Thanks!

Vortex Viper 15 x 50s'?
westernhunter23 replied to AZ_SAWBUCK's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Thanks for your $.02. The henge on the Kiababs does not get close enough together to get a complete view. The SLC's fit good and they would be my first choice, just not going to be able to spring for them anytime soon. My main concern on the Vipers is the focus factor and eye fatigue. I have heard of guys having these issues in the past. Also The Vipers have "HD" glass as do the Kiababs, so whats the big difference between the Vipers and the Kiababs components that makes the kiababs twice the cost? The Kaibabs have a bigger objective then the Vipers. This will gather more light and the eye relief on the Kaibabs is better. The "HD" component is an extra lens in the bino to correct chromatic aberration. Besides the bigger objective the biggest difference and most important is the quality of the glass. The Kaibab's use a better quality glass then the Viper HD. -
Vortex Viper 15 x 50s'?
westernhunter23 replied to AZ_SAWBUCK's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
The Kaibabs would be my first recommendation. They are so close to the SLC's that paying 1k more would be silly in my opinion. If these don't fit your face I would def look into the Viper HDs. They are no Kaibabs but they would be the next best thing. Most people say the SLCs don't fit their face and most opt for the Kaibabs due to this. Was there anything obstructing the henge? -
I have to blame this post for getting the wheels turning on this subject. Needless to say I have sold my 10's and 15's and now carry these 12's. I don't regret it at all. These Bino's are so impressive. Very light weight, so clear it is amazing and the field of view is awesome.

How about for the new EL 50's? 12x50?
