The Wallow fire was big although being up there and seeing a lot of the area, it is remarkable how a Forest can bounce back.

Splitting hairs when it comes down to these three brands. Just comes down to what your eye likes. If you will be spending that kind of money I would make sure you test each one. Not sure where you are at but if you have a chance head over to the outdoorsmans in Phoenix and they will set each of them up on tripods for you to look at.

Zen rays are an awesome glass for the money. Great reviews out there for the new prime he.

Saw a pair at Sportsmans Warehouse in Tucson, AZ. I had the 2011 Razor HD's and I loved them before I sold them to get Swaros. the 2012 design looks great. You can't tell much in a store but I could tell the new design blew the old one away. They are much, much lighter and per the Specs the FOV is awesome. I am sure they are equal if not better in image to the 2011 Razor HD's. If this is the case I can tell you that they compare remarkable well to Swaros. The sweet spot is big and colors are very bright. Where they didn't compare is the edge of the lens although this was minimal. Don't think you will regret your purchase.

Agree with Opticnerd. If you are freehanding use 8x or 10x. I would save your money up and look at Zen Ray's or the lower end Vortex models. you will gain a lot just by saving for a few months.

I sold my 15x56 Kaibabs for the 12x50's. The 12's have to be one of the best things I have ever looked through. The great thing about them is not only the clarity but the FOV. The FOV on them are equal to the FOV on the old 10x ELs. You just can't compare. To be able to hold them is also awesome. I was using 10s around my neck and carried the 15s in my pack. I get the best of both world's and save my back as well. My only problem is the tripod adaptor. I had outdoorsmans send mine out to get a thread machined in them so warrenty would not be voided, otherwise Swarovski sells a adaptor that I am not to found of. Good luck.

Depending on budget I am a big fan of the Manfrotto 055CXPROB. These are carbon fiber legs that are very sturdy and will fit your height. This will hit the pocket book around 320.00. If this is too much you can go to the aluminum model 055X but at a cost of weight. Good luck!

I am pretty sure if you were trying to sell something here and someone posted a cheaper price that would irritate you. Like desertacoma84 said, “90% of the time you always can find a better deal” so there really isn’t a point in pasting other for sale ads other than ruining the post. I had the new 10x50 2011 Vortex Razor HD Model. They were very impressive and compared to Swaro's side by side (Vortex's sweetspot was not as big and had come CA on the edges). I have not looked through the old ones. It appears Vortex redesigned the Razor Models again for 2012. I don't think you can go wrong with either although if you want the better of the two save the cash for the new 2012's HD's and I am sure you will not be dissapointed. The website says they are even better than the 2011 model. Good luck
