Thanks guys, My personal farthest range is gonna be 30 yards, im going to try to get my dad to go to the range more. (in our backyard we can get about 19 yards we call it 20) If i can get my groups at 30 yards to be within a 4 inch circle ill be happy. Which im almost positive i can do with more practice. Im also going to walk the 3d range about 20 times (not in one day ) to get different angles and try to guess the different ranges. what do you guys consider and average group at 20, 30, and 40 yards. also what would be the largest size group you would hunt with at those ranges? Right now im grouping about 2 inches at 20 yards. (all five of the arrows are touching each other ) And at 30 yards im shooting more of a 7 inch group. (although ive only shot at that range once.) Isnt it pretty late to get a new bow? Season starts in 20 days! that isnt much time to get dialed and and start shooting broadheads. I've been shooting for a month and just got to where i can group 5 arrows in a 3 inch circle at 20 yards. (30 yards is my max) Im gonna start practicing with my muzzys this week. unit 23, the place where i killed my first deer. It was a small 3x4 mule deer and i shot it in the nne end of the unit. Although, we saw some decent whitetails, a couple forkeys, and one that would went over a 100. in that unit the key is hunt areas with water! IM not sayin camp at a waterhole, but do some scouting looking for sign. You have my favorite unit, (for elk, mule deer, 2nd favorite coues) there are some HUGE coues in there so SCOUT alot and maybe you'll find a couple. Hi thanks for all your responses, Thats what i thought no coues OH well, my dad has a friend that has seen tons of mulies in there and a couple of "big" 4X4's in there. (or so he says) we plan on doing some scouting after bow season is done if i dont fill my 1 deer a year permit then. Hopefully my dads friend is right and i can improve from my first deer in 2002 (a small 4X3 mule deer in unit 23). HI guys, i have been reading this forum alot and its a great site! but i got drawn (2nd choice, 1st choice was 24b) for the unit 42 juniors only hunt im pretty sure that the game and fish website says there are only carp is this true? bbut i was hoping to get a coues (its any antlered) if its not true does anybody know some coues places? if it IS true can you help me out to finding some carp places?
