260 has really bad road construction right now. Cornville road is good road just a little out of the way unless you're coming in from the north. Either way you'll get there in about the same amount of time

^^^^ hahaha this!

Seriously if you've ever really worn KT for any real injury you will swear by it. I run and train for marathons and it works. From plantar fasciitis to hip flexors and IT bands it actually works...not snake oil... Don't try that but do try tiger balm it really does work just trying to help

Owls are in my opinion are the baddest azzes on the planet. About 7 years ago on an elk hunt I walked under a tree and had around 10 take off at the same time. One of the craziest things I've ever seen. Cool birls man enjoy!

.270wsm never ceases to amaze me

Understand how that goes I've had some kind of virus for the last two weeks. My little 6.5 mile run Tuesday afternoon started fast but around mile six felt really slow. Hopefully tonight's run is better... Good luck on getting back to training and your next race! Heading to Hawaii for a week then time to really start putting on the miles

Absolutely the best way to motivate is by signing up for a race! I ran two marathons last year and have 4 races in the next 8 months... I've been kicking around the idea of starting to apply for western states but not really sure how realistic that would be. Anyway anytime you are on the trail or road gives you time to think and it's good for the soul!

Shot him Monday morning and found him today and mad someone took the meat a day ago? Sorry man at least some of that meat wasn't wasted. The temps this winter have been high without gutting and skinning don't see how any of it wouldn't have been rotting after 24 hours. Sorry you didn't recover him.

Nice buck sounds a lot like mine this year, broken and beat up but still rutting hard. Shot mine with his nose up a does rear end .Hunting the rut is a blast!

Found this buck late opening day every deer we saw was hitting water either early or late. Such a mixed bag this year they were high and they were low. Just getting to hunt the Kaibab is a great experience. When I saw this buck all I could see was mass and that he was tall. .270wsm with Doubletap 110gr Barnes tsx put him on the ground! I know he wont score great but hes a buck Ive always wanted gnarly and old. Now to find some squirrels and my dad a bull next week enjoy!

Not sure how I missed this thread before but here goes... Starting about three years ago wife and I started a clean eating program felt better and got weight down from 210 to about 175. About 18 months ago my wife started running to deal with her moms terminal cancer and I reluctantly started too. It became one of the best outlets to release stress I've found. Ran my first half marathon in January and decided to have no regrets and registered for a full. June 4th ran my first marathon in San Diego finished in 4:04:01 next is in Las Vegas in November really want to get down around the 3:45 mark. I'm gonna check back and read through the rest of this thread for motivation!

Anyone else shot this? CVA optima v2... Went out today to finish dialing it in I've been shooting 100 grains 777 and 245 grain powerbelts most groups under 2"... Tried the federal bor lock 270 grain (bullet I planned to hunt with) same powder same primer and got 24++" groups holy smokes shot three terrible groups ! Went back to the powerbelts and groups went under 2" so frustrated hunt starts in one week. Would you guys trust a powerbelt in a hunting situation?
-
Thanks guys ready to throw my hat the other day... Used federal premium in my .270 wsm nothing but perfect. Thought it would perform equably it did not. I'll figure something out.

Just getting into muzzleloader any suggestions
Coffeeman replied to joelpresmyk8's topic in Muzzleloader hunting for Coues Deer
Just got back from my second time out with the optima, really fun gun to shoot. First three were around 2" pulled the breach plug and cleaned. Thought I would try the above recommendations and not clean the barrel... Well apparently not so good for my rifle first shot thought it was just me. Second, third and fourth just got worse. Pulled it back apart and scrubbed everything. Scrambled to find something for a new target. First round I know was me second and third touching at 100. Still shooting 100 gr 777 and powerbelts. Guess we'll see how it goes when I switch over to the bullets I plan to hunt with.
