why didn't they kill this one?
cactusjack replied to .270's topic in Black Bear or Grizzly Bear hunts
It was there for the early bird special. I lived 1 block away from the tree they found one in 6 years ago. They relocated that one too. There isnt any rhyme or reason to which ones get the thumbs up or thumbs down. -
Its good to know the law

Someone is selling one on Craigslist in Phoenix for 100.00. What it is worth is a tricky question, that all depends on so many factors. (how bad someone wants it, compared to how bad the other person wants to or needs to sell) If you were to take one like it into a Pawn Shop they might give you 20.00 bucks for it, or you might sell it to someone who is looking for that exact setup and is willing to pay 200.00 with all the arrows and everything else. I dont know if that helps but with used bows the value is wacky. Good luck.

This video reminds me of a call I made to Game and Fish a couple of years ago before a bear hunt. A group of us were going and had 4 of 5 tags, we were joking around about what we would do if we saw a sow with cubs. I called the G&F line and asked customer service since the only animals off limits were sows with cubs, if we tagged the cubs first could one of us then tag the sow. The customer service lady almost screamed "NO" then she paused and said, "hold on". She asked the Law Enforcement Officer and came back on the line and in a really sad voice told us it was legal. We could shoot her the moment she no longer had live cubs. I wouldn't do it but the reaction we got from her was funny. You could just hear the contempt in her voice, until I told her we wouldn't do it, we just wanted to know the law. BTW great videos

Help me decide which .22 rifle
cactusjack replied to DUG's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
If this is a wish list for himself that is great. My list would be more like "which color socks should I ask for?" or "should I ask for the single fold wallet this year?" -
Help me decide which .22 rifle

I think either Browning is an awesome choice. I like the takedown auto myself. I give my dad a gun of some sort every couple of years. I always seem to get him the ones I want someday. -
You were behind me as I slowly drove though the nightmare that has been McQueen Rd. I was driving extra slow looking for the piece of my wife's mirror that was knocked off the last time they moved the "safety" barricades. Me white Toyota Tacoma, you Jeep Cherokee. Looked like you were going fishing.

I have had both the Jim White x2.5 and the Swarovski doubler and no longer have them. (sold one and gave one away) I was not happy with the image size or clarity using either. I also had a hard time finding the object I wanted to see through them. I liked the idea of saving weight and space, however I wasn't happy with the function. IMO carrying a spotting scope is the best way to go. There are others that have commented on this in another thread. http://forums.coueswhitetail.com/forums/in...showtopic=16071

I like it. Great video. The mice getting snagged was great. I remember seeing pics of yours of albino animals, now you had the albino mice! -

That is an awesome broadhead. I will try some of those when I get back to shooting my bow. I am amazed that your wife let you shoot your cabinets like that. -

I just received an email regarding a 3-D shoot that will be held to help out Sadie by DM Archers. It will be on the 19th of June at the PSE Outdoor Range with a 9:30 shotgun start. There is a $10.00 entry fee and prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. As soon as I get a copy of the flier that I can open, I will post a copy of it here. Thank you. -
Why do people shy away from Zeiss 15x60's?
cactusjack replied to GSPMan's topic in Optics and tripods
One reason I went with Swarovski is the tripod mounting system. I had a pair of Zeiss 10's that I had to use the velcro/strap system and it was hard to keep steady. The second reason is that they cost more and I wanted to look like a big spender. -
I'll say that either the Yamaha or the Honda are the way to go. Like I said I have the 2 honda 2000 setup. Runs my ac on my trailer just fine. They have tons of hours on them and the only service I have ever done clean a carb that I let the gas gum up in. Other than that change the oil, maybe soon the plugs. Draining the gas is required if you store them. Just sayin.

That cold country really makes the facial hair grow quickly. Looks like they are having a great hunt. Awesome!!!! -
is it full out mortal combat, or rock paper scissors?
-
the hondas are the best for camping imo. I bought 2 2000's about 6 years ago with the kit to join them. Since then 5 others in my group who suffered sticker shock when I bought mine have purchased the same setup. The Honda's sip fuel, are quiet and provide stable power (computers, or other electronics) and super light. Being able to charge a battery with the little jumper cable is great too.

San Diego boycott of Az backfired
cactusjack posted a topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/2010/ma...ng-trips-to-sd/ What is the saying, People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. You vote with your dollars and I will vote with mine. My favorite quotes are San Diego Councilwoman Donna Frye said she believes some Arizona residents are acting out of a misunderstanding. “The City Council did not pass a resolution boycotting Arizona, and I would hope that the good citizens of Arizona understand that and will continue to visit San Diego,” Frye said. School board President Shelia Jackson said that while she was disappointed to hear of people opting to stay away from San Diego, she doesn’t regret her vote. “It’s sad that people would cancel their plans to come here in reaction to that, but I still think we did the right thing,” Jackson said. “Certainly, we know how important tourism is to San Diego, and it wasn’t my intent to impact the tourism trade.” -
It took me a moment to figure out that L.A. meant Language Arts. At first I thought "this isn't that long of an essay". Nice job. Let us know what the teacher thinks.
