I don't have a great answer on the fixed or variable debate, but I am 100 happy with my straight bodied spotters. I normally glass from the highest point I can find and glassing down requires bending my neck to look into the angled ones. Using a straight bodied one also makes it easier for me to find a specific spot that I want to check out. I use an angled one at the range.

New Arizona Deer Association Raffle. Winner Posted !!!
cactusjack replied to azelkhunter2's topic in The Campfire
I have both setups you speak of, a Kodiak Canvas cabin tent and trailer and I have a Jumping Jack. I use both. The Jumping Jack is awesome. I dont have to sweep the ground, get rid of sticks, rocks, fill in holes, and drive stakes into the rock hard ground. I will say, I bought 4 scissor jacks at the junk yard to put under the corners because it wasn't as stable as I would have liked. Took it hunting last fall with my dad, every time he or I rolled over, the other person woke up due to the shaking. When I go with my Kodiak Canvas I have to take cots, pads and a table and clean the bottom of the tent when Im done. I took both the tent and the Jumping Jack to Unit 23 for the Youth Turkey Hunt. My son and I stayed in the tent, while my 2 daughters stayed in the Jumping Jack. The tent, cots and pads all rode up on the Jumping Jack. I tow it with an 08 Toyota Tacoma V6. I bought tickets to this raffle too. -
Great rifles. When someone snags this badboy, I can get you the info on suppressing it integrally. I have one and shooting 44spc it is quieter then any air rifle. Had I not just got a 22mag, Id be building another 77/44.

How many peeps required for that Instinctive archers don't need no silly sights... but they do need awkwardly uncomfortable tights.

Last March I caught my first swarm of wild bees. I put them in my Flowhive and 6 months later, right now I harvested 4 gallons of honey. I have 24 pints I am going to sell. I'm asking $12 a pint. I was informed it takes 3 gallons of honey to make Mead. So that will have to wait. 6028030412.

Kimber Adirondack 6.5Creedmoor needs to be ran
cactusjack posted a topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Thanks to Wilderness1, I bought a rifle I always said I'd never own. I'm not a Kimber fan. However, this rifle sang to me. I couldn't help it. I had the suppressor (SilencerCo Harvester 30) and the right adapter (7/16x28). I ordered a Leupold VX3i 2.5-8x36 and the Alumina Flipback caps. I weighed it with a VX1 3-9 that weighed the same as the one I mounted. Without ammo and sling it weighs in at 6lbs 4 3/4 oz. Im hoping to take it out and chrono and zero it this weekend. I will post the pics I just took from my phone. -

Shot it today. Amazing. Zeroed it at 200yards. Getting a turret built from Leopold. Chronographed (magneto speed) 2535 and 2550. 143gr eld-x factory ammo. Forgot my phone or in would have taken pics. -
How did that conversation go? Hey dad can I keep a thousand viscous, stinging, kid chasing, Mike biting, ferocious, venomous bees that happen to make tasty honey at your house? Pleeeeease dad...There was more begging and pleading. He has a tack shed on the back of his property. We fenced off an area behind that.
