A Fun Little Gun Followed Me Home
cactusjack replied to Hoss50's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Love it. How much did it set you back? Not how much you will tell your wife it cost. -
Good luck. I have a wingmaster, but I'm planning on being buried with it.

I just put together my Kimber Adirondack 6.5creedmoor. It is scary light. with suppressor, tripod, sling and scope it weighs in just shy of 7lbs. Crazy light. But I normally shoot my Tika T3 Lite 300wsm and suppressed it weighs in at 10lbs 13oz. I have a few heavier and a few lighter, but these are now my main 2.

Fluting a Factory Heavy Barrel?
cactusjack replied to Hoss50's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Fluting it sounds difficult, maybe try playing it like a recorder. -
So far!

Tac, let's not talk about total stamps.
-
Wampuscat is right, 200 each, and an SBS Short Barreled Shotgun is also 200. It is a cash cow for the Gov. Makes me cry a little when I see all those stamps. Thats one reason I get Integrals built. 1 stamp and if you want to travel with SBRs, Machineguns, SBSs you have to fill out a form and mail it to the ATF to get permission. Not needed for suppressors. Just has to be legal in the state you are going to.

I wish it did, no such luck. Its ala carte.

I bought 3 cans and said "Im done!" I got a 22 can, a 45acp and a Specwar 762. I could suppress almost all my firearms with those, however changing hosts gets to be a pain. Soooooo the slippery slope arrived.
-
Probably so. But Im at least happy.

and an Omega 9k. Jerks

I hate SilencerCo. They have all my money. 3 Harvester 30s, an Omega, an Hybrid, 2 Specwar 762, 1 Specwar 556, 1 Specwar 556k, 3 Sparrows, 2 Spector2s, a Warlock, an Octane45 and a Saker 556. Plus a HTG Cycle3 45 and a 9, and an Integral suppressed SRT Ruger 77/44 44mag and a Innovative Arms Integral suppressed Enfield 45 Delisle Carbine variation. I can quit at anytime!

It might be a problem if you are on an armed hike with your dog, bow and a tag.

Look up banking a stove.

A dog on a leash following a blood trail isn't a method of take imo. A lot of the blood dogs I have seen were Jack Russell terriers. Not very helpful taking down a deer or elk. Instead of inflammatory statements why don't you pull your head out? See what I did there? There are many variables in play. Animals jumping when seeing movement, a branch in the way or misjudged distance. Cwt.com was a place for coues deer hunters to become a community, now it seems to have morphed into a bunch of self righteous keyboard commandos. Out.

In all but 14 states, dogs can be used to blood trail hit animals. They have to be on a leash. Arizona is not on that list. We should change that. Wasted meat.

Low profile gas block installation
cactusjack replied to 452b264's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
The pins are tapered. Be sure you are pounding them out from thin side to the thicker side. Full disclosure. I've cut down and reinstalled 50+. I work part time at a gun shop -
Low profile gas block installation
cactusjack replied to 452b264's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I know you already bought the gas block, but my argument for cutting the pinned down, is that it is still pinned. I have never seen one of them move and not be over the gas port. Noveske pins theirs for that reason. My 2 cents. If you still are sold on using the one you have, install it, mark the set screw hole by tightening it until it scratches a mark, them put it on a drill press and put a dimple in it. 4 cents..
