If you don't care if they hit anything, the light recoil is perfect. Btw, you can get light recoil loads for a 20 that give the kid a chance to hit something. Getting skunked as a kid is a good way to not want to go dove hunting again
-
Thank you. Sweet shotgun.
-
Dove hunting is hard enough with a 20 or a 12. A 28g or 410 require expert level skills.
-
I'd recommend a Mossberg youth 20. 410 is frustrating to new shooters
-
Yep. This completes the LW trio. 20, 28 and now 410.
-
I will take the 410

I love all Browning stuff. Jonathon Browning is my 4th Great Grandfather. John Browning is an uncle. I say my obsession with guns is in my blood

Remington 24. My dad has one.

Figure it with this. Strong. Light. Cheap. Pick 2.
-
it was the first gun made by Mossberg, and funded his company. It is called a Mossberg Brownie.

all gone but the 10-22 -
I had one in a 20ga with ejectors. A friend kept bugging me and finally hit my number.
-
it is a fun story. It comes with a little piece of metal to stick into the bore and eject the spent cases. I haven't shot it yet but it can be shot, but will CB caps.
-
nope. It is a 22 pepper box. first gun made by a current American manufacture

I have an old (like circa 1910-1920) Ithaca "Flues" field grade side by side 20 gauge Sold Dual trigger, 28" barrels, mod/full choke, bluing is worn (see pics), center bead missing and slight dent in right barrel (see pic). Barrels have moderate pitting. Wood is in good shape for its age. Shot a limit of doves with it last September and 100 rounds of sporting clays. Functions fine with standard load 2 3/4" shells and the gun is LIGHT (maybe 5#). Asking $350, not interested in trades. Pristine models fetch upwards of $1K on Gunbroker. If there are any Ithaca experts who have more insight about this gun feel free to PM me or post it here. Shotgun is in Chandler, Thanks for looking. .
