Hey guys, I have an odd request: Does anyone know who I can call to assist me SHOULD I be blessed enough to get a bull down in unit 11M? My partner had to back out of the hunt last minute and I am now hunting solo. I happen to have a messed up back and a sprained ankle just now healing. I can walk a long way but not with much weight. If anyone knows of any strong kids or someone else who would like to make some $, let me know...I'll pay them well. I just know if I get one down it will take me forever, I'll probably mess myself up again and I would have meat going bad. I probably wouldn't ask if they allowed off road travel to retrieve game in this unit, but they don't. Thanks in advance! Jeff

I won't. Thanks, I've killed a number of elk. This is my first time injuring one and having it mill around for days.

Thanks MC68. That was my bull. I'm done hunting. Jeff

Same proximity, same bull. Nobody else was hunting in here. The next night. 1/2 mile away. I'm pretty sure this is mine. But I could be wrong. Terrible.

Caught him on trail cam the next night 1/2 mile away. So bummed. Arrow still in him. Back and high.

Tracked him forever. He dumped down into a canyon Im not allow to go in. Couldn't find any blood. Look for my arrow for hours. Even used a black light at night to find my fletchings. I'm thinking about going back hunting again. A little deflated right now though. It wasn't that far. I should've found that arrow.

I let an arrow fly at a 6x6 just as dark was almost here. 48 yards, the bull dropped down and push forward hard as the arrow got there. The windage was right. I just couldn't see or hear if it hit. And then all heck broke loose. He ran so hard and fast that all I heard were trees breaking. Secratariat would have been proud. I waited 1/2 hour and went to look for my arrow which I had thought was a bit low. It wasn't to be found with a flashlight. Although it was dark so I could've missed it I'm hopeful. I've never seen an elk run that fast and make so much noise blowing up dead trees. Think good thought for me.

I'm really blown away here. I have a lot more confidence going into the field than I did this morning. I WILL be making a call gang. Thanks!!!!!!! (Again, wow)

The hunt is now. I came back yesterday (hunting was not very good yet, few bugles where I was) but I'm going back to hunt Sat-Wed.

ok, Thanks everyone. Anyone know who could help me for free? I'm prone to accidentally leave my new Eberlestock pack behind with something left in the pocket.

For helping to extricate a downed elk?

He even gave me a hat!

I've hunted with Johnny. Back in 2010 we were in camp together. He's very cool and he knows his stuff. Helped me when I blew out a tire even though it made him late to get to another hunt . Quality guy...I'd hunt with him again for sure.

Yep, he's right. I now know that I was drawn but the rest of the fam was shut out. Good catch trphyhntr.

It's been many, many years since they released results on a Friday evening and even longer since they released them on Saturday. T700, I hope you're right but I'm doubting so. Have a great weekend everyone!

I think they threw that up to stop the calls and buy more time. My opinion.

Did they always have the button 'draw results coming soon' on the homepage? It's there now...hmmm
