I have noticed and been so envious of a few hunters who have found seeps in their areas that a lot of deer hit, and aren't on maps. What great finds! I know that finding one is the reward for countless hours scouring the hillsides. I wonder, though, if those who have found them, noticed anything specific that made the seep possible. Maybe with input from a few of us who have found one we can begin to understand what circumstances to keep an eye out for in our wanderings. Are they at the bottom of cliffs? Are they near the bottom of draws? How much mountain sits above them to collect the water? Are there any rocky shelves that act as a subterranean shelf that forces the water out? Just ideas! I'm sure there are better ones out there! Thx for your help!

Poor monsoon season, but it seemed like it was a great winter and spring for rain. Sounds like a great year to have an archery tag.

Have had a coyote kill my chickens 4 times in the last 2 weeks. Anyone have a live trap or 2 they are willing to part with?

I saw him 2 nights ago actually take one of my chickens at 2:30am. Grabbed the .22 rifle but it was back into our pasture out of range when I got the barrel out a cracked window. I just don’t know when I’ll have another chance at him so wanted to trap him. -
An interesting event. Be safe out there. http://www.mctdirect.com/preview.php?id=201808291209MCT_____NEWS_SVC_23588094_0000

Boys got it done! First tags filled!! And something weird.
AntlerObsession posted a topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Took my boys on a backpacking trip deep into Coues country and they did a phenomenal job hiking, and filling their first deer tags. Couldn't be prouder. Something weird, though. Hiking the deer out, this not so little grub made its way out of one of the deers' nostrils. It was about 1.25" long. Found another one in the cape bag once we got off the mountain. Anyone ever seen something like this before? -
CWT Family, We are bringing 20 head of quality beef steers off the mountains of southwestern CO, and I would love to provide a 1/4 beef or 2 to CWT members who are interested. They have been Rocky Mountain high their whole lives (not the same kinda high as firstcoueswas80). We plan on having them processed in Queen Creek, available for pickup around the first of Nov. If you're interested in more information, text me at 48O.34l.6354. Thanks! Adam

It's near Durango, CO. The current price for feeder cattle is $1.4261 per pound. Equates to about $2.70 per lb hanging weight, plus kill fee and processing. By a pro butcher, not me!!

Who needs the unit? I recognize the arched little pine tree in the background of the OP. Sending the drone with thermal imaging and a mounted .270 super short magnum now. . .

Saw this one AZGFD news. GAME AND FISH NEWS July 17, 2017 Arizona Game and Fish Department Bobcat in Anthem attack tests positive for rabies Tips offered to prevent rare human-wildlife conflicts PHOENIX A bobcat that attacked a large dog and bit a man on the hand in the Anthem Country Club area on Sunday evening has tested positive for rabies. At 7:30 p.m. Sunday, the Arizona Game and Fish Department received a call that a man was bitten on the hand by a bobcat. The man reported to officers that the bobcat attacked a German shepherd and he was bitten while trying to separate the two animals. The bobcat quickly fled the immediate area, but was located and dispatched. The animal underwent a necropsy by the departments wildlife health veterinarian and tissue samples were sent to the Arizona Department of Health Services. Results showed it tested positive for rabies. While bobcats are abundant throughout Arizona including in urban areas they can be aggressive if they become sick, trapped or are defending offspring or a territory. They also tend to frequent habitats where food and water are plentiful, such as in neighborhoods. Because bobcats are rarely a threat to people and commonly coexist without incident, AZGFD does not routinely relocate bobcats. To discourage bobcats from living near a residence, homeowners should: Keep domestic animals such as small dogs, cats, chickens and rabbits, in a secure enclosure with a sturdy roof if outdoors and unattended. Keep small dogs and cats indoors, in a secure enclosure or on a leash when outdoors. Feed dogs and cats inside or remove any uneaten pet food left outside between feedings. Keep the landscaping around your home neatly trimmed to cover to hide. Likewise relocate or remove piles of debris or junk

A very pretty 4x4 drive with a little hike and fishing is Bullion King Lake NW of Silverton. That's always my favorite place for a family hike.

That's upper hermosa basin. Beautiful area that has some trout habitat improvement projects immediately west of Purgatory. There is a quad trail that goes south for quite a distance that has good access to Hermosa Creek, which is full of trout. Not a bad place to be.
