The fishing was tough, nothing like two weeks before. We did manage to get second place in the JackAZ tourny. Not bad for a couple of amatures. We stayed till Monday to try to catch some crappie, we boated 5 in two days. Standman must have a secret honey hole.

Here's our pic from their website: They do run a good tourny, pretty laid back, no crazy rules. All the other fisherman were real friendly too.

Our weight was 8.74, the winners had 11.02. We boated about twenty fish, but they were all in the pound and a half range. The bass either already spawned or are spawning way deep. We caught most of our fish on main lake points in 7 feet of water. Water temp was in the mid to upper 60's. I think the water fluctuation affected the natural spawn...

Going to SC tomorrow to fish a bass tourny on Saturday. Should be great fishing, wish us luck...

The dam store or should I say the store by the dam is closed...no minnows there...
-
Now that's putting them in the boat...good job.

The fishing wasn't great but we did manage to boat about 50 crappie and about a dozen bass in three days. The crappie we caught were in 3 ft of water in the bushes. The action was slow, out of a dozen bushes there would be only one that had fish. Here are some pix. Here's my cousin Steve with a couple of slabbers Here are a couple of my slabs This 7 pounder made the whole trip worth it.

That bass is still alive...I released her and another that weight about 4lbs... I still think that the best is yet to come on that lake. We will be fishing a bass tournament there on the tenth, I bet by then the crappie will explode...We might have to stay another day to load up the freezer...

It did seem like there were a few bees hanging around the camp fire at night.

Thanks for the update Brian...we'll be there again next week.

We fished SC Friday and Saturday, Zero bites for crappie and Bass. We fished with the entourage for about 2 hours only saw one fish get caught. Hit the shallows and threw jigs, beetle spins, minnows...nothing . Threw spinnerbaits, senkos, craws, crankbaits, fished main lake points, secondary points, backs of the coves...nothing . But the steaks were good, the company was excellent, and the adult beverages were oustanding. Water temp was around 59 degrees, it still needs a couple of good hot days, I think...

Headed out tomorrow morning for 3 days...hopefully we'll find a few slabbers...

Anybody go hit SC this last weekend?
