Here's the pic. http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid8...d7/fa7782ab.jpg This is probably one of the weaker bucks that have been taken. He looks like he is going down hill. -

I'm not sure exactly how they distribute there hunting privaliges. But I do know that for the last six years or so the head hanchoes from Phelps dodge Mining Company have hunted it. They have taken some huge muledeer. I have a pic of a mule deer one of them took this year. It's not a huge buck but still a respectable representative of the species. Funny thig about it is most of these guys aren't into hunting they just tag along. And yes I am very jealous. -
Doesn't hurt to try. Anything to give us the upper hand.

I've seen bucks of this caliber and bigger in public land, when out bow hunting during the rut. The problem is, sticking an arrow in one. But that's alright it's just a matter of time. Sooner or later one's going to make a mistake. -

Sure is. The Ceo's of the company I work for get to hunt that Ranch every year. They have taken some very impressive muledeer also. I can't wait to become CEO . -

No... this was taken on the Gray ranch just south of the Burro Mountains. -
I've never used scents as a lure. I have gotten some buck 69 and added ten drops with water in a small mist bottle and used it as a cover scent. I don't know if it works but as far as a scent cover anythings better than my scent.

I hope so too, Jason. -
Hey Mike, I use "The Can" made by primos. Remember Coues deer are the most wary animal in the forest. When ever you are using any type of call, don't over-use it. Good Luck!

My Client took about a 100" buck on the second morning. Luckly he didn't pass him up, we had a terrible wind storm on the last day. I'll show pix when he sends them to me. Tommy -
I've tried rattleing, grunting, doe bleats (the can), mock scrapes. This is what I have found. Rattleing- They respond but not like eastern whitetails. It's better if you just rattle the tips. Do not rattle aggressively. Grunting - works well during pre rut and rut. Will stop a buck in his tracks when he's with does. Bleats - Most effective way I have found to actually call in a buck, but don't tell anyone Mock scrapes- not effective. Coues deer don't visit scrapes as often as easterns. Most important thing when hunting Coues deer with a bow IMO is scent control and knowing wind direction. Tommy

Thanks Jason...We'll see how it goes, I have yet to score on a 100" Coues. I wonder How 5yearcouehunter is doing. It's been raining here for two days. The fog is finally lifting. I'll tell you what when this clears up, the deer are going to be moving. -

Scott Adams and I will be heading out to unit 27 on the Late December Coues hunt. It's going to be awsome, we set the bar at 110". I don't know if I could pass up a 100"er. First time hunting with pack goats . Tommy -

I'll agree, Coues deer don't like the wind they bed down and don't move very much during a wind storm or rain. But become very active after the storm passes. -

Travis, You are in a good spot to fulfill your goal. Just hunt as close to the Mogollon Mt range as possible. Find the water find the deer. Good Luck. Where will you be camping? I might head up there that weekend to check things out. Like I said I have a client hunting in that Unit. Tommy -

AZOD- That buck actually has 9 scorable points. You can't see the rack well in the pic. The bucks left side is a perfect three point with about a three inch eye guard. And the right side is a main frame two point with splits on the g2 and 3.I'd say he grosses in the low 80's and nets mid 60s. And yes this young lad did kill this buck yesterday right before dark. He made a double lung shot at 286 yards. 5 year - are you from NM? -
