wackycouesaddict replied to bowhuntaz1's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
the collards i was shooting this year and some days i shot 15 or 20 of them were genrally that darker color. -
dont quote me on this as i wasnt even of born or of hunting age yet but for some of the more experienced guys on here. didnt they used two allow you if you shot a mule deer on your drawn tag be able two go and buy a left over whitetail tag for down south? now im talking 70's 80's 90's some time in there. i seem two remember my grandpa talking about it.

not sure what it is we have a 5 month old chocolate that does the same thing. and hers are almost two short she likes two try and dig threw the patio so at times they will get down two nubes if we dont watch her close. but we still catch her chewing on her nails and due claw.

Sorry dude but I'm gonna go ahead and call BS on this one... Holds them at gunpoing then lets them walk? Doesnt sound likely to me. And for it to happen twice? Someones pullin yer leg. could be true in all honesty. but thats wat was said i do know personaly and have hunted with the guy who has seen them (not held at gun point) and have no reason not to believe him. but never know o well thats wat i have heard. i dont care ether way i will hunt where the big bucks are. i have never personaly saw any illeagal activity while in 36b (4 years) but im always watching and expecting the worst. this year we moved a little farther north and havent even seen trash.

there were some guys doin duble back flips up until the one didnt get out far enough and smacked into the wall up at canyon lake last time i went cliff jumping. It was pretty cool till that happened and i wouldnt even jump after that.

man im glad i hunt manly archery hahaha just hold a little low as i was always told. ha my only coues was at 75 yards flat and every deer i have had a chance at was under 200 yards. not saying you guys are wrong or bad or anyhting like that but at over 700 yards to me it becomes killing and not hunting just my two cents. for lion hunter id say same as archery just hold a little low and you should be good two 500 or so. just my none long range pda shoot thinking.

wouldnt be suprised if it was some drug runners i know two guys who on different occasions have seen and one held at gun point by mexicans in full tactical while a train of 30+ others walked buy packing bails. i wouldnt be supprised if they shot to ether scare or kill them to eleminate the risk of the shipment being caught.

would probably end up getting it takin away we found a nice mulie that was a little fresher then that (still had bits of hid on the skull). we took it in to the office in mesa just to show them. they then informed us that because they couldnt prove other wise with out the body that they would confiscate it and we could try for it at auction. now this wwas 4 or 5 years ago so might be different but thats wat happened two us.

Stand hunting vs. still hunting (archery)
wackycouesaddict replied to talltines's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
wrestling shoes work great for stocking as well. i dont know how much the ones you wear are but i buy a new pair for hunting and wrestling practice every year for thirty bucks at big five. -
It dosent matter though its about how you tune your bow and make your arrows. i know twoguys who shoot an omen and one shoots mechanicals and one fixed. they are both sighted in to 90 with them and both shot mulies this year with no problem. So it comes down to how your set up and wat you want to do

So the my two best hunting partners are my grandpa and uncle who got a couple days on me as they say.But recently i have seen my grandpa get to the point where he almost cant walk and my unlce lives over four hours away but more inportanly i didnt have anyone to fill there shoes when they couldnt hunt anymore, whitch wont be anytime sooon with there grit but still. I have never really had any friends that hunted like i do or had a love of it like i do. so i figured i would be a solo hunter for alot of the time it since my wife to be only likes going out smoetimes with good weather. Now i have two little brothers and the one is 8 and a complete computer geek i have to call him some times to fix things and he doesnt show much intrest in hunting or other sports other then the in the back yard with me. The other is 6 and always seemed to want to play sports like me (baseball, footballl, and wrestling) but to day when we went to the park for some batting practice. He informs me that baseball was boring whitch suprised me since he always seemed to have fun so i ask him about other sports like football wrestling UFC some more intence stuff i thought and was informed that they are all boring as well. So when i asked him wat does he want to do his responce " I want to go coues deer hunting with you again and one day want to have you take me to kill one with my bow" i wanted to jump up and yell but i didnt and i asked him if he was sure after the last time i took him out in witch he walked 10 miles and followed along in 3 stocks that together last 5 hours of one inch movements. and he looks at me and says yer sir pauses and askes when is your rifle tag agian. i responded the day you get out for winter well leave and gave him a huge hug. Guess i got to get him a cwt.com shirt now haha. Just a side note after they day i had with his older brother the day before on the last hunt in witch i learned he loves to sing even in the middle of a stock and steps in every bushand jump up and down when he sees deer. I was suprised to find that once we left the quad he never said a word unless we were talking about wat we were going to do or to ask for water and he loved trying not to make a noise when walking and hardly ever did i think he was quiter then me. Also i was supprised every time i aksed if he wanted to go after this deer with me or if we should go up the next hill he would answer yes and the last deer we stalked witch he wakes me up from my nap saying that he found a big buck witch i figured to be 110 when i looked and even though the stalk was a bust. it was a great day and i was so proud of him. Im still on cloud nine and those two days have been the best day of my short life.

That would be a tough situation for me! An awesome deer and an awesome experience but I guess I would have felt a little guilt every time I looked at the mount. it was a tough call but we didnt want it to "infect" any other deer if it had something and we dont have to worry about looking at it it was donated to my cuzzins ffa to raffle off at a dinner.

While glassing for my uncle i had a 163 inch mullie come up the hill to me. I was thinking he hadnt seen me till he comes up and starts nunding my hand and licks my face. when i went to block his horns witch kept knocking me in the head he jumped a little then bedded down about ten yards to my right. with such a close veiwing of his rack i knew he was a shooter for my uncle and was thiinking something had to be wrong with him he became a dead deer if he would remain there. so i got up to get my uncle who was one ridge over the buck gets up and follows me about 5 yards behind he would walk when i did and when i stopped he would stop and graze. he finally stopped and by then i was feeling kinda bad about wanting my uncle to shoot him. but i got to my uncle and explained wat happened. we talked about it for a little and decided we should shoot him with it bein the biggest deer we had seen in the unit . we went back and he was right where i had left him and my uncle knocked him down one shoot at 100 yards. when we reported him to g&f they asked if they could have his brain to examin and my uncle not caring about being in any "book" agreed as long as they informed him of wat they find. well two weeks after droping the head off at UofA we get a call informing us that the buck had dead spots in his brain so they believed that it was the cause of his actions. Ether way it was a really cool expirence and will never forget it for those who would like to know it happend in 34b just north of the empire ranch main house

not saying hes wrong or anything but how much does he shoot and wat kind of rest? my family decided to try them out this summer and found that with the wisker buiscet they will pull off after about 20 shots. and that when shooting a faster bow (mine shooting 321) on a pass threw a bag target they also came off. and the ones that didnt come off that way lossend up and started to slip after about 100 shots. personaly i use the wraps and the bitzenburger jig to fletch and when i go to reflech i dip the arows in boiling water and the wrap will come off real easly. just throwing my experience out there
