i figgerd a banjo plunker like you'da knowed that. it's what the beverly hillbillys called their pool table. it was in the "billy-ard" room and there was a mounted rhino in there they thought was a billy-ard. Lark.
-
you don't call it "the fancy eatin' table" anymore? Lark.
-
wow. sounds like maybe ruger took off big time in the 1911 department. best get one now before they read your report and jack up the price. thanks for bein' the guinea pig. Lark.
-
tremendous job there feller. a buck with a bow is one thing, but a free runnin' turk is really cool. Lark.

doves=javelina with feathers. there ain't a whole lot i don't like, but dove is one of em. i really like it when my wife useta make dove, biscuits and gravy. i love the biscuits and gravy. but i never could warm up to doves much. they're better than javelina and liver and most ducks. it ain't that they are so bad, they just ain't real good. now quail..............oooooo, ain't much better than quail. some things are as good, ain't much better. especially with biscuits and gravy. my kids chow down on doves tho. Exotic Woods on Rifle Stocks
.270 replied to EBB's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
seems like there are lot more important things to worry about instead of spending a buncha money and time on trivial $h!t like this. gonna have another ruby ridge at a guitar factory? i have several old rifles with custom stocks that have grip and forepiece caps that i don't know what they are made of. i might get busted next time i go to new mex or colorado. have a friend who has an old sako in 17/222 and the entire stock is rosewood. he might get the chair for that. Lark. -
i don't have a tactical, but i do have one of the new 4x16's. i think it's called a grandslam. it was on a .264 i bought at the gunshow. have it on a 22/250 now. it is a really good scope. i really like it. weaver went way downhill for a long time, but these newer ones are a decent scope. they ain't like some of the real high dollar ones, but they are well worth the price. Lark.

holy crap. that is the most badass animal i've ever seen. good night what a beast. Lark.
-
wow, now that's a big buck? where did it come from? Lark.
-
cool, maybe i'll be up and around enough to make the mesa show. it ain't too big and you don't have to stand up so long there. it's gonna be awhile before i can do a big one i think. i really really really need another .45. to right there with the holes in my head. Lark.

good job. a pronghorn with a bow is a very high accomplishment. where were all the goats? my 73 year old, emphasimad up, on oxygen uncle has a rifle tag. i don't think i'll even be able to go. again, good job. Lark.

if they end up with felony convictions it will be a rough deal. as far as money, you can't get blood out of a turnip. i think they do need to pay enough that it is a hardship for them, at least for awhile. felonies are bad deals. can't own a gun, or even stay in a house with a gun. can't vote. can't hardly get a job. not a good thing at all. but i also agree that there are a lot of other factors that added to this and allowed it to get out of hand. many years of no management is the most glaring. sounds like there were some real poor decisions after it started by those in charge of putting it out. the fact it went from bear wallow to greer, that is a long dang way, without even hardly slowing down, says a lot about everything. then you add in no rain for months and high winds, pretty sad deal. again, i feel sorry for these guys. they didn't intend to do it. but they did something stupid and it happened. they need to be accountable. but so do the folks that didn't do anything for 20 years before that. needs to be some real deep diggin' into what actually happened. before the fire started and especially immediately after it started and the results need to be made public and someone needs to be held accountable. but don't hold your breath. i kinda doubt much is gonna change. Lark.

go shoot that thing and tell us about it. i want to buy a 1911 in 2011 and only have 4 months left. heck, maybe i'll buy 2. i really want one of the new gov't model colts that have the anniversary stamped on the slide. but i sure like the ruger too. when is the next gun show? Lark.

scouting any time is a good thing to do. things will change after the rut, but if nothing else you will learn about the country, where the roads run, how the canyons lay, stuff like that. any time spent in the field is beneficial. and one thing that scouting during the rut will do is it will get you excited about your hunt and it will give you a real good idea of what your unti has to offer. by all means, scout early, scout often. Lark.

in elk country, lions kill as many elk as they do anything else. a big lion can kill a big bull. you don't see that a lot, but it happens. they tear cows and young elk up. seen many kills over the years. Lark.

Opening week end of the 2011 deer season
.270 replied to DCMHunter's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
sounds like a nice eventful time. tell your kid good job. that's why a guy needs to do something every chance he gets. ain't no tellin' what might happen. Lark. -
i refuse to join any organization that will have me as a member. Lark.

there's an old saying attributed to the Duke. "life is hard. it's even harder when you're stupid". i think these 2 guys are gonna see just how hard stupidity is gonna make their lives. i actually feel kinda sorry for em. they didn't go up there intending to burn half of Arizona. but through stupidity they sure did get 'r done. i do hope they get more than just token punishment. but dang, they are in for a some hard times. they better try hard to keep their photos out of the paper. Lark.

on a sweeter note. my ol' docter 15x60's got knocked out of alignment. heard a lot of horror stories about getting them worked on. found a place called mountain optic in lakeside montana. just got them back today. did a really good job. lined up perfect, super clear. look like new. anyway, if you need glass worked on and can't get it done for whatever reason, look this outfit up. he's a certified repair guy for about any of the high end glass outfits. he wasn't cheap. $280 for all he did, which he said was quite substantial, new eye cups and shipping back to me. they are really clean, clear and sharp now. i got them used and he said they had been worked on before by someone that didn't know a lot about it and that was what most of the work was. but he got em done really quick, about a 2 week turnaround, and did a fine job. Lark. ps, he told me that the docter 15x60's are the same thing as the old zeiss 15x60's. same lenses, case, mechanics, everything. only real difference is the docters are rubber armored. i didn't know that. if i see any of these at a good price, i'll pick em up. later.
-
that's pretty cool to have photos of him and then find his sheds. i found 4 muleys sheds off the same buck once. 2 from the same year. Lark.
-
now that i have mine back, Docters. one son has the big zeiss and one has vortex kaibabs. they like them very well. Lark.

alma school, between elliot and warner. wast side. during the powder and primer shortage they seemed to be able to get both at times, when nobody else could, they made some money on it, but they did have it. they have a lot of guns, but they are pretty spendy. but my gunsmith experience is enough to not go back. 90 bucks to drill and tap one hole is quite a bit. the run around they gave me between the time i took it in and got it back was bs too. oh well, live and learn. Lark.
