thanks for takin' one for the team and reportin' so's the rest of us could stay home and avoid the crush. was it like a gunshow where folks go to smellin' bad after a few hours? i always put vick's in my nose when it gets that away because you can get the best deals when they go to stinkin' and everbody leaves. Lark.

good job allen. bell's palsy is the $h!ts. never had it myself but have known several folks over the years who have. they all eventually made a full recovery. again, nice buck. Lark.

whatever you decide, make up your mind what bullet you're gonna shoot and get it twisted for that and be happy with it. .264's can be real twist sensitive and moving up or down in bullet weight/length can make drastic changes in accuracy. and a lotta target bullets aren't real good hunting bullets. something to keep in mind. and remember, if you don't have a fat barrel, you can shoot a long ways. it's the rule. Lark.

got a text from Amanda today. said they (the folks she is hunting with) found 9 dead rocky rams together. victims of the wallow fire. quite a hit on that herd i would say. Lark.

after last night i'm sorta apprehensive about givin' anybody from tucson any advice..... you don't cross the little colorado until you pull into springerville. do you mean he salt river canyon? i make the trip a lot and since they did all the work in the salt river canyon, i go that way most of the time. from tucson tho, mule creek is a good way. but there ain't any way to go that doesn't involve a really steep climb. from the gila to the state line is really steep. from glenwood over luna mountain is really steep. from luna to alpine is really steep. if you want an adventure take the coronado trail from morenci to alpine. you're going from about 2500 feet to over 9000. there is a climb involved. but from tucson, probably take i-10 to 666 to safford to 3 way to new mex to alpine is the best way. Lark.

WELL ROOOOOOOON WHITE!! WE GOT HOMETOWNED AT HOME. THE REFS CHEATED. WHO OF A PAID EM OFF IT LOOKED LIKE. THEY PLAYED DIRTY. NONE O' THEM INTERCEPTIONS WERE LEGAL. THERE NEEDS TO BE AN INVESTIGATION. i've had to tail a few to get em off a dog or some other chaos infested fiasco. it's a thrill for sure and you hafta keep em really swingin' so they can't come back at ya! the best way to tranquilize one is with a 9mm. i've heard a .22 works too, but they're illegal. Lark.

lots of things affect how many deer are in an area. but this decades long drought, outlawing trapping, severely limiting lion season and increasing the h e l l out of "hunter opportunity" (in other words, $$$$$) has had a definite affect. where i always hunt the weather in the spring and early summer decides whether or not their prefered food source is there and the weather this time of year decides whether or not they come down out of higher country to that food source. it was a rough hunt. we got 2 mediocre bucks. had to chase one several miles while it trailed a doe and had to go into absolutely horrible rough country that we normally avoid for the other one. passed on a couple real dinks and just like every year for about the past 15 years, saw more bighorn rams than muley bucks. sure looks to me like they could let out a lot more bighorn permits. increase the "hunter opportunity" ($$$$$) a little. but all in all, it was a tough hunt. saw very few deer. it was very dry. just about every palo verde i saw was either dead or severely stressed and looked like they would die. cactus was all in bad shape. lots of dead saquaros that were alive last year, pancakes laying on the ground and paper thin, dead and near dead barrel cactus everywhere. we need some rain badly. hunted every day and didn't average 2 muleys a day. including does. did get into several bunches of coues one day. but i still had fun and really enjoyed myself. and i could have busted a couple different bucks, but didn't want to shoot a little one. maybe i'll find one of em in 4 or 5 years. Lark.

you need to start shootin' them things tj. i've spent my life in lion country and i've only seen a few lions that weren't in a tree or a trap. i guess i need to spend more time glassing. the ones i did see, except one, i killed tho. 14 lions is pretty cool. you've been real lucky. i've seen a few on kils that were so full they couldn't run away, but i don't really count them. lions be sneaky. Lark.
