    cartoons

poor little muslims, they just don't understand why Americans get offended with them beheading, raping, pillaging, murdering all in the name of allah, or whatever his name is? guess we all have a lotta soul searching to do ,also, in order for us Americans to understand the true beauty of a religion that kills folks for such wonderful reasons. i mean who wouldn't wanna kill women for learning how to read or driving a car or not being all covered up in public. or kill kids because you don't like their folks. or kill your own kids because they shamed you. kill, kill, kill. it's such a wonderful way of life. Lark.

dang, my head hurts readin' all this HH, N/M, HYPP, muscle fiber stuff. that's why i ride mules. take one jackass, add one mare=mule. my mule never says nothin' about his HYPP. i don't even know if he has one. i think it's just a reg'lar ol' PP. Lark.
  7. you may be right, ain't everbody can handle the responsibility of owning the rifle of the Gods. takes a real special person to own up to such a high calling. .308 is ok, it's just like an '06, only less. Lark.

    Elk-Rifle before Archery

the past few years, a buncha the biggest bulls have come from the late rifles hunts. you hafta exclude the rich guy posse hunters. those elk don't count. getting an early rifle or muzzleloader tag has such poor odds that anyone banking on getting drawn, no matter how many bone-us points they have, is gonna be disapointed a lot. but if i did have that tag i'd rather hunt later in the rut than earlier. this looks to me like a good thing for archers. it's been my experience that the biggest bulls, i mean the 13+ year old, 1100lb thugs with trees for horns, become so completely nocturnal during the rut that you're either gonna hafta get real lucky or use a spotlight to get em. a lot of the true giants are so old they are no longer interested in the rut too. they go find em a nice dark cool canyon and get away from all that nonsense, another reason they kill more of the big elk on the late hunts. they kill a buncha really good bulls on the early firearm hunts, but you don't see near as many really big bulls from october as you do in december. during the late hunt, if it gets really cold up high, you can glass em up across a canyon especially at daylight and when the long shadows start in the afternoon. and you have the added advantage of extra numbers of hunters that jump little herds of bulls up and they end up crossing a meadow or prarie to get away and are seen by other hunters. lots of really big bulls get busted that way. Lark.
  9. my only recomendation would be to sell it and buy a .270. Lark.

    Elk-Rifle before Archery

spend enough time hunting elk in the rut and you'll realize that each year there is period of a few days where elk go crazy. it isn't consistent with every herd of elk in a unit at the same time, but if you watch for it and spend enough time with the elk you'll, see what i'm saying. there are a lot of herds that wander around in the same general area and from time they will bunch up into maybe a couple hundred elk with several big herd bulls and a buncha sattelites and things get stupid. personally i think it has something to do with the moon and a big number of the cows heating up at the same time. anyway, over the past few decades, the rut seems to be moving back some each year. probably has something to do with the drought and september being a little warmer and drier right now than in the past. for archery hunters, i don't see this a real bad deal. the real crazy time seems to be closer to the end of september and maybe early october. the muzzloader hunts and early rifle hunts only have a couple dozen permits per unit. i don't see that being a big detrement. if i still bowhunted elk, i'd see this is as potentially a good thing. don't have a clue what the azgfd has in mind and i kinda think they don't either most of the time. but i'd hold off being too critical of this move. could be a good thing and if it is the bunny cops will try to change it. morels

wherever we go we try to get some of the local flavor while we're there and we always try to live off the land when it's possible. it's morel season here right now. tromped all over the hardwoods around the place we're renting a bunch and found nothin'. yesterday my wife found a bunch growing within a few feet of the house. cooked em up last night. what a treat. one of the most interesting flavors i've ever encountered. now i understand why morel season is such a big deal here. if you ever get that chance, try em. really good. hope we find some more. Lark.

    The long season?

if it was an irish bar, maybe he was just drunk and usin' a little o' the blarney. you know, BS'in' ya. old guys from different places have different views. i wouldn't put a ho' buncha worry into it. no sense it beatin' each other up because some guy from wyoming got drunk and was talkin' $h!t in Az. Lark.

    New Low for Boy Scouts

not if the adults have anything to say about it. used to be a big supporter of the bsa. not so much anymore. this is more of the alinsky-ite take over of America. a little at a time. the bsa was tough for a long time, keeping the perv's out, doing what they know is right. but they let them have a fraction of an inch and it was over with. they'll be callin' each other comrade soon. Lark.

    2016 F150 Trailer Feature

there is no such thing as too much testosterone. unless you're a female. as least one that ain't a russian tractor mechanic or east german weight lifter. i can't wait till the first dork runs into something with his (?) backitselfup truck. "well offither, it simply ithn't my fault. i put IT in automatic backup and IT hit that big mean cowboys truck, not me. oh, and is his phone number on the citation?". gonna be a field day for lawyers. "your honor, my client cannot be held accountable for the actions of his vehicle. the big mean cowboy should have known better than to park within 100 feet of a truck that is owned by a man (?) that is too much of a p%$$y to drive it hisself". judge judy is gonna hafta get another show just for backin' accidents. like Phil says, nerds and yuppies. Lark.

    .25-35 Ammo?

only if you can't find ammo. look it over good good. it's just as strong as it was when it was new. the fact that they made millions of em and that folks still use em says they are well made. it's a browing design. it and the 1911 colt both are and they are probably 2 of the longest lived rifles and handguns around that are still used on a regular basis. just make sure there ain't a mud dobber nest in the barrel. give it a good cleanin' and oil it up. it looks like it's in really good shape. those old saddle ring carbines with the crescent butt are real hard to find and real desirable to collectors. the fact it ain't a .30/30 makes it worth about a grand more. they made a jillion .30/30's and one like yours would still be worth a lot, but in a rare caliber like a .25/35, it jacks the price up considerable. .32 specials were probably the next most popular. the .25/35, .38/55 and .32/40 are rare as rooster lips. it looks like the saddle ring is gone? i'd get another one for it if it was me. they make em. you have a real prize there. make sure it stays in the family. my father in law gave my oldest son his dads old 1886 .45/90 because he knows it won't end up in a pawn shop if he has it. Lark.

my buck turned into a decal

that looks cool but if they hafta be actual size, i'll hafta git a bigger truck. none o' the windows on my rig are big enough for the stuff i shoot. i know, it's a curse. Lark.

    2016 F150 Trailer Feature

how big a p%$$y do you hafta be to need a truck that backs itself up? that's as bad as them cars that parallel park theirself. if you need one o' them kinda trucks you oughta hafta turn in your scrotum for a down payment. my neighbors 16 year old daughter loads hooks up her trailer herself, loads her horses, hauls em all over the country and then backs the trailer wherever she needs it all the time. that there is a nerd/yuppy mobile. Lark.
  24. Answer me this, what good does it do to "pattern" a shotgun. folks always talk about it like it's a big deal, but it varies from shot to shot, load to load, ammo to ammo. there ain't anything you can do about it, so why does it matter? if you do end up with a hole in your "pattern", what can you do about it? if a bird is flying how are you supposed to shoot around any hole in your "pattern". just wondering, seen this mentioned a lot and seen a lotta articles about it in magazines, but could never figger out what difference it makes. a shotgun shoots how a shotgun shoots and there ain't a way to adjust anything to change it. i "patterned" one on the door and tailgate of this turd heads truck once and it did make me laugh and pissed him off, so i guess that was good. Lark.

    .25-35 Ammo?

looks like 1907. incredibly sharp rifle. carbine, saddle ring, .25/35 caliber, in good shape, excellent rifle. get another saddle ring for it. like it is it's a $3k+ rifle. don't let it get away. Lark.
