Try the the hussein administration. With the billions of rounds that fed organizations like Usfs, blm, usfw, etc, that never shoot, have bought, they oughta have a little to spare. Lark

22-250 bullets that won't vaporize
.270 replied to Presmyk's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I use 52 gr hornady bthp match bullets in everything I have that is .22 cal. They aren't "recomended" for hunting but I've had great success with em. Seem to do little hide damage also. Lark -

More Mexican Wolf re-introduction
.270 replied to DesertBull's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Yeah that's it. Let's put mexican wolves where they never were to start with. Sounds logical. Anyone who is a part o' this bs oughta be beat on a regular basis. Lark. -

Nice bull. Did your dad ever tell you he found you in a dumpster? Well, he did. Lark

Yeah, lennon, a lot like lenin. I imagine it's against the law to teach about pearl harbor in school now. After all, it was just the japs attacking American aggression. Oh yeah and that freedom and liberty deal and the fact they thought they were the master race. Lark.

I have an 1100 "special field". 21 1/2" full choke barrel, straight grip, 2 3/4", semi auto. Usually use 00. Absolute death on coyotes. Take the plug out and cut loose. A lotta times I carry it and a rifle to stands. Lark.

Dang, that's a big buck. Got some obese points. Lark

They're weasels. Lots of em in Az. Had one lookin in the window at the Rancho Neglecto a couple years ago. You see em around big lake and crescent a lot if you're lookin. They kill the heck outta chipmunks. I've seen em all over the rim country in eastern Az. Lark

If Casey was an elk........ Naw, never mind, he'd be even weirder lookin. That's a cool bull. Looks like he probly had a headache. Lark

I've spent fitty years wanderin' around 27. Still a lotta places I ain't been. I don't think there is anywhere that doesn't have fair muley numbers in 27. 27 ain't roadless, but there ain't a bunch of em and there are gigantic canyons between em. Expect to be kinda overwhelmed at first. 27 ain't like any other unit. Good luck. Lark

We had a great time. My boys are dedicated, experienced, tough and seasoned hunters, far beyond their years. But a guy named Jason Rippy had a lot to do with our success too. There with us every step. every step. He deserves a buncha the credit. Look forward to him with a tag so we can reciprocate. Lark.

As hard as it is to find brass these days, I'd look at something that is easier to find. Lark.

What is a 28 nosler anyway? The 6mm rem was originally called a .244 rem. 2 things killed it, barrel twist was too slow to stabilize 100 gr bullets and you couldn't resize a .308 to make it. So rem twisted it faster and renamed it the 6mm. It's a fine round and is still chambered, but marginally better than the .243, ammo is harder to find, and you can't resize a .308 to make it. It ain't a big deal now, but in the 60's, being able to resize military brass was. Remington had a real bad habit of letting someone else develop a round, then making a similar one a little longer, that couldn't be made from resized brass(like the .280/7mm express/.280 again) without putting a lotta work into it. They basically stoled the 7 mag from Winchester, and the .22/.250 from wildcatters, and those 2 rounds may have saved em. Lark

Bergers FAILED me horribly
.270 replied to joelpresmyk8's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Why would you even think about using a bullet that is point of impact sensitive? Use a good heavy jacketed spitzer that couldn't care less what it hits, and shoot it as fast as you can. Works every time. I'm a real good shot. But even me with my superior marksmanship can't either hit a rib or shoot between em, depending on what kinda bullet I'm shooting. Lark. -
At least they got something. With checkerboard it's virtually all considered private land. Lark
-
What they should do is trade the checkerboard private for the checkerboard public so the landowner has all his land in one continuous tract, same with public. Checkerboard is very divisive. Lark
