sounds like the azgfd wants to be able to keep anything of any size for themselves. Lark.

i could say "nice family photo", but i don't wanna insult his dad. or the javelina. or i could say "which one is the javelina?" or, "did you take a date on the hunt?" but i won't. it's real apparent that bullwidgeon is a real hunter and i don't wanna make him mad at me. cottonpicker might decide to make it Lark season. later, Lark. by the way, nice job on the pig. whichever one it is.

these bulls we all DOA, they just D'd a lot farther away than they woulda with different bullets. they were all hit right where you wanna hit em. just them barnes bullets don't mushroom for beans and zip on through, like a drill bit. doing minimal damage on the way. fatal damage, but minimal. like singleshot says, i like to find my bullet under the skin on the off side. like 90% of the stuff i shoot with an interlock. Lark.

i'm surprised either one o' you two can walk upright cuz it's real plain you both got "brokeback". Lark.

i don't why i didn't make the connection. i was dog tired. this huntin' is too much work. you sure ended up with some big ol' horns. that rez has a couple new world records wanderin' around on it right now. Lark.

wire it up to a claymore. with a little dna testing you can find out who it was who tried to steal it. Lark.

don't wanna start a pissin' contest, but i'm the wrong guy to lecture on elk shootin'. i've put down a bunch of em myself and been around on several hundred others. both the bulls that ran plum off were very well hit, multiple times, and with a literal cannon. the barnes bullets might work a little better if you hit some shoulder bones, but they flat suck for lung shots. i was around on 7 bulls this year. all 6x6's or 6x7's. the three that were shot with barnes bullets, all ran off, and after real well placed shots. one was hit again, in the spine, as it hit the trees, and dropped there, but it woulda ran off too. the 4 others dropped in short time. no spine shots, no heart shots, just good shots in the lungs. barnes bullets are made to drill a hole, a little larger than the bore diameter, through the animal. they penetrate real well, but leave very little of the energy in the animal and do very little shock damage to them. in fact, it's been my experience, that well placed lungshot with a broadhead will put a bull down quicker than a barnes in the lungs will. a good copper jacketed lead bullet will flatten out and leave all it's energy inside the animal and shock the heck out of it's system. all copper bullets would be a good choice for cape buffalo, elephant or coastal bears. in fact, if i was gonna hunt kodiaks, they might even be my first choice. but they flat out stink for other stuff and are rapidly getting a real bad reputation with folks that are in the business. enough so that barnes is trying real hard to make em better. i look for em to come out with a lead core bullet or some other design real soon. after this year, i won't ever let a hunter use a barnes while i'm callin' the shots. Lark.

poor little girl gonna lose her license for sure now. that first photo shows her and 3 javelinas. positive evidence for the bunny sherrif. dang, what rotten luck. at least one real ugly javelina too. Lark. -
try the plain ol' run o' the mill hornady interlocks. better performance, half the price. been shooting them for years and they work perfect everytime. i wouldn't allow a barnes in my reloading room. after watching lung shot elk run off and having to hunt them down with lanterns at night, that were shot with barnes drill bits, i won't even think o' usin' em. and 2 of em were shot with a .338/.378 weatherby. sorriest bullets i've ever seen. i mean they're ok if you like to see animals run off and die a long drawn out death. i don't buy the 2 bloodtrail deal either. i want a bullet to be wadded up under the skin on the offside and that's what the interlocks do. Lark.

i hope they guy recovers, but this still makes me laugh. this kinda stuff happens to us all the time. Lark. http://www.azcentral.com/arizonarepublic/n...ysplit0213.html

check this out. maybe they'll find a female missin' link and bullwidgeon can finally have a girl friend. Lark. http://www.azcentral.com/arizonarepublic/n...tworld0208.html -
hey, does anybody know if bullwidgeon seen his shadow? i know he looks more like a javelina, but he's the closetest thing we got to a groundhog out here. anyway, if anybuddy finds out let us know. i'm gettin' ready to load up for pig season and need to know what kinda gear to take. Lark.

how can they hit you with civil charges on a deal like that when the original charges were dropped? i remember reading a bunch about the deal when it happened and it was a railroad job from the beginning. seems like the guy had several complete sets of sheds from the buck too. the guy that "turned" him in seemed like some jealous anal orifice that was trying to get the same buch and didn't. whatever, anytime someone kills a new record the azgfd tries to make it a crime. look at all that allan ellsworth went through when he bought the winters bull. he ended up taking the rack out of state and hiding it for fear that the azgfd would take it away and not give it back. Lark.

if i had my own show, i don't think i could keep a straight face whilst the tape was runnin'. most o' these guys on these shows are worse than nascar drivers after they win a race. the bullet barely hits the animal and they have their big dumb gap toothed face in the camera goin' "well, i'd like tuh thank primos calls, remin'ton, barnes' boolits, real tree hardwood extreme sneako sint lock camo, the block targits, merle norman camo paint makeup, supercuts mullet specialists, fart silencer, fartsintlock depends adult diapers, polygrip, dubba bool blands, the hog hunter magazine an' wait, wait, i gotta take a breath. ok, ok, an' whackem and stackem broadheads, 'laska knifes, burris scopes, tink's bullwidgeon in heat aftershave and jimbo's barbecue". i'd start laughin' by the time i got to supercuts. Lark.

i tried to get sponsers for a huntin' show. only one's that'd pony up was depends, geritol, aarp and polygrip. Lark.

tam, lion is good stuff, as long as you don't think about eatin' a cat. i've told ya'll about my grandad and his brother trappin' when they were kids. one winter their ol' man packed em off somewhere, seems like in the pinals south of globe. probably like 1913 or so. anyway, they ran into a grizzled ol' trapper and spent a few days camped with him. he said that if they caught a young lion to pack it back to camp to eat. said he loved young lion. that day they had one in a coyote set. they killed it and packed it to camp, skinned it and tossed the hide up in an oak tree and the ol' man cooked em up a bunch. my grandad said it was fine vittles until he looked up in the tree and in the glow o' the campfire, seen the hide hangin' there and realized he was eating a cat. he couldn't choke down another bite. Lark. p.s. it makes real good green chili.
-
hey griz, take it from a reformed pig hunter. you got lucky. you ever gut or try to eat one o' them things? things that make ya go bblluuuhh. only thing i'da done differnt woulda been to use a rubber blunt instead of a broadhead. Lark.

man this is just the kinda publicity hunters need. who was the idjut that shot the goose at the park? i don't care if it is legal, this is just stupid. i've always felt that if it was legal, then it was ethical. now i don't know. dang guys, use yer dang heads. Lark. http://www.paysonroundup.com/section/front...ead/story/21880

if you're gonna catch a lion in Az. you best have coldnosed dogs that are used to huffin' dust. especially this year. good job and a nice cat. Lark.

it will rain again. it always does. what was the name o' the marshall trimble book? "it always rains after a dry spell". i know it ain't a popular way o' lookin' at things and i'd really prefer some rain, in fact a lotta rain, but drought is weather just like rain and snow and wind. and it's all part o' the cycle o' things. we live in a desert. even the high mountains are just islands surrounded by desert. it's just another one o' mother natures ways to deal with things. my ol' man has lived here a long time. he said he's never seen it so dry. 30 years from now you'll be able to look at the saguaros and still see the skinny place in em where this dry spell happened. i hope it rains sooner than later, but i'm afraid we're in for a bad one. it's gonna take a lotta above average precipitation years to recover from this one, and it don't look they're are any o' them comin' very soon. tough time to be wildlife for sure. Lark.

a couple years ago i wrote a post that said this was gonna happen, only i did it on april 1. i remember allen taylor bit on it and was really raisin' heck until he figgerd it out. didn't ever think that it would actually happen. i'm gonna quit jokin' so much. i can't believe they're gonna have an elk hunt in august. the october rifle hunt was so hot this past year that it was a race to keep the meat from gettin' sour. ya won't have a prayer in august. if ya can't get one next to the road and get it skinned and to a locker real quick, it won't taste very good. you'd think keeping animals edible would at least be a concern of the azgfd. guess not. at least not this buncha losers. shroufe has gotta go. he left quite awhile ago, as far as doing any real work. now him and his toadies have gotta go. Lark.

didn't some jerk wound a buck to death with a bow up in cave creek a couple years ago, right in somebodies yard or on the golf course or some deal? i know it happened up there, but can't remember zakly where. guess it offended the heck outta some folks, but was perfectly legal. cave creek passed some ordinance makin' it illegal afteward and there was a lotta negative press towards hunters about it. thing is, a guy oughta have enough couth to not shoot half-tame semi-pets in front o' folks that might not like it. we all like to hunt and don't really understand folks who don't. but a guy needs to still be a little sympathetic to other folks. the arrow in the beak deal is just plum stupid. Lark.

What Worked and What Didn't?

my bladder leaked a few times durin' deer season too. my ol' man tried to make me ride in the back, but i was drivin'. told him to deal with it. if i wear them depends deals, i can't get my pants on. ya look real ignernt out huntin' with just a big diaper on. if ya don't b'lieve me, ax bullwidgeon. Lark.
