Happening in Oregon but Issue is Alive and Well Here in S. AZ
.270 replied to Jawa512's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
One difference is that anything bad that ever happened to the klumps was 100% deserved and 1000% to little. The bundys and the hammonds seem to be fighting worthy causes. Lark -

????? It's a mystery. Sounds like the hammonds have run headlong into the blm and usfw at their worst. I'd rather be dead than work for them. The circus has fewer clowns. Can't imagine why anyone would for them. Still don't know what it has to do with locked gates in Az. Lark -

I don't know of one public acre in 32 that I can't hunt if I want to. Not real familiar with 33. Usually when folks whine about locked gates it's because they're too lazy to walk a little. This thread is gonna go off in some stupid directions. Lark -
I'm afeared it's gonna be one and done in the playoffs. Lark

Exactly. They were convicted, served the sentence, were out for awhile, then some blm folks got a judge to say they didn't serve enough. So now they're headed to prison again. The entire story is real long. It's another deal of gov't agencies pushing around landowners. I don't understand the arson part or why they would did it. Way to much to discuss here. But it has NOTHING to do with locked gates. In this case, the public land surrounds them and the gov't has them locked in. Read guys, don't just sling. Lark -

I guess i don't understand what wagon you're talking about. I don't think I've taken a side in the Oregon deal. Sounds to me like these got caught breaking the law. There are some other circumstances involved, but as far the fire, it sounds like that's cut and dried. Str8, where are these hundreds of thousands of acres of public land that are locked up? And again, private land is just that, private. Compared to other states, Az is much more open. We are real lucky here. Ever hunt Colorado or new mex? Lark -

First off, the 3 things you mentioned have nothing to do with each other. Nothing. The Klumps lost the majority of their grazing. Blm brought in Cowboys and rounded up their cattle and sold them on a lot of their lease. Wally got thrown in the klink for refusing to remove cattle from one of those places. I've hunted all over places where they used to graze with no problems. Wally is a very strange person and as a group they have some wierd ideas and have committed some atrocious crimes. The Cliven Bundy situation began because his grazing lease was cancelled and he refused to remove his livestock from land that'd been in his families control for over 100 years. Nothing to do with locking gates. He never stopped anyone from using public land. This deal in Oregon has to do with arson. Sounds like the gov't has overstepped again in some areas, but if these guys wouldn't have started the fires, they wouldn't be in trouble. As far as locking gates, that's the way it is. That's one of the benefits/problems of owning land. Lark -

Sheep hunt success in Northwest Arizona!

Thank you for your input. If you and at least one other guy shouldn't be on the sh!t list, wonder who is getting a pass? I'd hate to see somebody miss a perfect opportunity to be justifiably drug through the mud. 2072 was nothing but a way for rich guys to get all the tags they want. At the expense of the Joe hunters losing even more opportunity. As it is, you can legally take only one of each big game species per year in Az. 2072 would have allowed rich guys to buy all the tags they want and fill every one of them. Think about that a bit, not even thinking about the hoggish mentality involved. With the posse method of hunting that is used on auction hunts, can you imagine what it would do to the woods? As I recall, these auction tag hunts would still be during the general seasons. Think of what kinda crap would happen with the woods being flooded with toadys trying to get their bosses in on the biggest animals? It would o' ended up a gunfight. Anyway, I'm glad these photos were posted and even gladder that the scab got ripped off this old wound. Folks need to remember it because they'll try it again. I wouldn't doubt that the reason they were posted was to poke a finger into the eye of the guys that stopped 2072. ARRRRRRR!! Lark -

Excuse me for not knowing, but what name is yours? Also be groovy to hear your opinions on the HB. I still can't believe they tried it. Without even telling the azgfd. With the posse method of hunting on these auction hunts, the amount of conflict during the seasons would've led to bloodshed I'm thinking. not to mention the stress on the animals. Can't believe cap'n don (wonder if he says, ARRRRR) had the nerve to post anything with that clown in it. Good it's done tho to refresh folks on what almost happened. Lark -
Steve is a tightwad? I'da never thunk it. Just because he wears clothes bums threw away and drives stuff you hafta make parts for. I remember he bought a new two tone blue ford pickup. To replace his brown one. only reason it had a heater is because you couldn't get one without it. Cool you got him a 92. Watch out cats. Lemee know what he says. Happy new year. Did he ever tell about trying to kill a deer with an axe? Lark

I really like your perspective on things, killer. Lark -
If there is an active grazing permit for the land they inhabit it may be illegal to shoot em. I'd dang sure make sure it's ok. There are feral hogs all over on public land around redding. You cant shoot em if you don't have permission. Lark

George Johnson. What a piece o' work. He wanted some people on the little Colorado above Eagar to sell their land to him. When they wouldn't he bought below them and dammed the river to flood em out. Never mind that all the water he was stopping belonged to farmers below there. He ended paying a fine of over $30 million for that, the goats, tearing up Indian ruins, dumping raw sewage in a wash in QC and a buncha other garbage. Lark

Nope. He was right in the middle of it. Thought it was a great idea. Then he changed his mind. Think it had something to do with his magazine going broke because there weren't enough millionaires to buy it after Joe hunter wouldn't. He still packs water for the rich guys tho. Latk -

They are the nontypicals of the saguaros. I've seen several over the years. Seen a few barrel cactuseses' over the years with the same malady. Lark

A jerk developer released some into the silver bells a few years back and they promptly infected the bighorns with pinkeye. They had marine snipers in choppers and all kindsa stuff down there shooting em. Is it anywhere close to there? Lark
