  1. i don't care how rich this joker is, it had to hurt and it's a good deal. don't know how many of you remember this deal. i know bullwidgeon does because he spent a lot of time down there shooting the pinkeyed goats this jackass imported to try and kill off the bighorns with. this is also the same joker that decided he could dam off the little colorado above eagar without any kind of a permit. anyway, glad to see he got hammered hard. Who's the oldest hunter you know?

hey Amanda, thanks for putting those photos up. Rusty is one tough ol' dude for sure. he got a little 5x5 shot out from under him, but before it was over he shot this fat horned ol' bull. it's a good story. my ol' man is nearly 80 and got another nice buck this year. i'll send ya a photo of him with some sorta dead animal. this is a good thread to start. be good to see what kinda photos and stories folks get on here about the greatest generation. Lark.

    Got a ????

game and fish laws state that you shall make every attempt to retrieve wounded game. if you hit an animal in one unit and it runs into another you not only should, but are required to, track it down and get it. this happened to me while cow hunting with my bro' inlaw once. he hit a cow that wandered across the road into a closed unit. we went over there and he finished it. a game warden came by, looked at the situation, helped us load it in his truck and he took us to our truck, which was a long ways away. no citation or even a stern talkin' to. 1st time for everything!

i can't believe it took the hawk that long to realize it had picked up a javelina. did he head to the nearest pond and wash off his talons? 2 years ago me and my ol' man watched 2 golden eagles get after some deer. they were trying to single out a fawn when they almost flew into my pickup. i think they would have at least hit it if we weren't parked where we were. he watched 2 eagles (probably the same 2) kill a fawn several years ago in the same area. kept hitting it in the back until he got a kidney or artery or something. it's interesting to watch. otc elk tag success ?

hey el fuego, you mean all the savings on electricity ain't worth the 22 million they spent? 22 million would only pay for power for about another 86 years in the old bldg and they need to look ahead. heck, you could buy a powerplant for 22 million. Lark.

    Rocky Mountain Rams

nice photos, but them rockies are worse than skunks. had to literally "shoo" a full curl ram outta the road during deer season so i could get where i was going. there was one a little bigger laying on the side of the road. actually bumped one with my winch mount once by wildcat crossing and it wouldn't get outta the road. honked my horn and everthing and he just laid there. finally had to backup and go around. and i can't even get a tag. one thing about it, if i ever do get a tag, i can get one even if i'm in a wheelchair. Lark.

    otc elk tag success ?

dangit, i always miss out on the fun...........Lark.
  13. ya know what the worst thing about this whole deal is? folks saying it's gonna be a drag on the economy if they hafta go home. folks that want cheap labor. they want em up here, but they don't want em to make decent money, so the price of things doesn't go up. ain't that sorta contrary to the "American" way? ain't folks supposed to come here and be better off? the same arguement by the slave holders and plantation owners got us in the civil war. "oh lawdy lawdy, what will we do if we can't own people and make em work cheap? that cotton can't pick itself." if folks are gonna live here, they need to become citizens and become the best they can be, not just a little better than they were where they came from. i'm all for enforcing the borders and shipping every illegal outta here and making businesses and private folks all accountable for knowingly hiring illegal help. then loosen up the requirements a little and let folks immigrate legally and become Americans and live the dream. and i'm 100% against making a new class of folks that are just here to keep lawn mowing and house construction and cafe prices down. treating folks that way is no better than slavery. it's called a cast society, like they have in india or south africa. whatever level you're born in is where you stay. it ain't right. Lark.
  14. "only" a carp? it's bigger than any coues deer ever. that's a heck of a nice buck, anywhere, anytime. good job. besides, carp are bigger than minnows and guppies. Lark.

    December tag gripe

i tried for several years to get a particular big ol' muley. kept outsmartin' me. stayed in the bottom in the brush all the time. track him up, jump him and he'd get away. some bird hunters blastin' quail ran him out of the little canyons he stayed in and i found his track crossing the road going into a little easier place to find him. tracked him down and got him. biggest desert muley i ever shot. be fine with me if i was the only guy out there all the time, but that ain't the way it is. other folks use the land too. bowhunters, rifle hunters, birdhunters, anglers, hikers, quad riders, birdwatchers, cowboys, dogmen, and them goofy coues deer hunters. deal with it. it's the blue whale syndrome all over again. Lark.
  16. this is an interesting article. maybe there is some basis for callin' muleys "carp". but i'm thinkin' that maybe casey might be a cannibal. Lark. http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/W/WHA...mp;SECTION=HOME

  19. shroufe has left a legacy from which i doubt this state will ever recover. and i would suspect that with the current commission and this guy we have for gov., the next one will be worse. not that there aren't any good female candidates, but i'll make a prediction that the next director will be female. and very liberal. shroufe was bad, real bad, and so are all his toadys. hang on fellers, this might get rough. i sure hope they don't even look at that dope ferrell (sp?). thought i seen a javelina swimmin' in the 'frisco hot springs once. found out later it was just bullwidgeon. Lark.
  21. now all the gangbangers in east la will have to switch to non-lead bullets in their drive-by's. might be a good thing. they'll get more jail time from makin' a buzzard sick than they would for killin' somebody. Lark.
  22. hear that flutterin' sound? it's your freedom flyin' away. it ain't about condors boys. it's about stopping anything that anti's term as "unethical". a thousand bucks and a year in jail if you even have a non-approved round with ya? hang on, we're next. and it's a problem that was imported by the usfw and our own azgfd. don't drink the koolaid. Lark.

    whats a karp?

you midget deer hunters call em carp because ya need an excuse for em out smartin' ya so ya hafta hunt them culo blancos to make yerselves seem more smarter. if you wanna see a carp, look up one o' the many photos o' bullwidgeon on this post. that there is a carp. he also qualifies as a toad. Lark.

    303 savage

the .303 british is also a little bigger than .30 caliber. i think it's like .311. seems like with a little work you can resize a .30/30 to where it will work. i have several old .303 sav. loaded rounds at the house. my uncle jammed one in his .30/30 and shot it once, on a bet. it didn't kill him. i'm sure someone still makes brass for it. seems like it is still a somewhat popular european cartridge, like the .22 savage hi-power. the rimmed cartridges work real well in the double rifles that are still used there with some regularity. it will have a metric designation on it tho. Lark.
