Spring Snow Melt and Global Warming
.270 replied to SilentButDeadly's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
we are a little warmer than we were awhile back. but man has nothing to do with it. (if he does, it's negligible) polar caps have been melting at the same rate for at least 150 years. as long as we have been tracking it. the sun is hotter than we've ever been able to measure it, right now. heck, the polar caps on mars have almost completely vanished in the past few decades. i don't think we had anything to with that. we're just in one of the higher temprature cycles that mother earth has gone in and out of countless times. all the prius', carbon footprint trees, wind generators, solar cells, bicycles, etc. ain't gonna change it. when things go the other way, it'll cool back down. probably a lot too, then folks'll be wanting the good ol' days back. there are a lotta scientists who buy in with gore. i tend to listen to the guys with real experience who say contrary. i still wonder why folks can't figger out the word "illegal"? if i break the law and get caught, i pay the consequences. why don't folks who broke the law the instant they crossed the border have to do the same thing? i read the other day in the paper that Az. doesn't hold anyone caught smuggling marijuana, unless they have over 500 pounds! 500 pounds!! a three wire bail o' hay weight around 100 or so. so if you only have 4 and half three wire bails o' dope, they just take the dope and turn ya loose. arrest em all joe, send em home, it'll work out. Spring Snow Melt and Global Warming

aaayyyeah, i remember we had a year like this back in '01. i 'member another'n in like the 60's. aaaayeah, i do. maybe if they didn't make all these reports they wouldn't hafta kill so many trees and that'd cure global warming. i'm gonna remain a skeptic. an informed one, but a skeptic. too many holes and loose ends in every air tight, iron clad, slammed shut global warming theory. it's real easy to argue any point, if you only use the evidence that is convenient to your slant. here we have a winter that paralyzed parts of the US for weeks at a time, in every month of the winter, with record snow and cold. we had a real good winter in the central desert of this state. more greenery and wildflowers than i've seen since i think, 96 or 97. whatever the first year i moved down here was. but it's all global warming. how can warming produce record snow? is it just me or don't if hafta git cold to snow? i lived in the mountains for most of my life, and i never remember it snowin' on a warm day. not one time. a couple winters ago al gore and his buddys had heck having their global warming lie fest in nyc, because is snowed so much that nobody could get to the convention center. you can't legislate the weather. that's why we're arguing this on the "political" section on this sight. because it's political and not really factual or true science based. and i'll hammer anyone over monsoon. i'm sick of hearing "monsoonal moisture" on the dang news, or any other stinkin' thing with the word monsoon in it. now they wanna call dust storms a haboo or some dang thing. what's wrong with "summer rains" and "dust storm"? why we gotta use some foreign @$$ed dang word for our weather? cuz it sounds cool? once again, al gore=liar. good, i need some turkey huntin' funds. when the fall draw was all at once and the results and refunds were in august, my wife always used the refunds for school clothes money. Lark.

Spring Snow Melt and Global Warming

so, did global warming cause all the record snowfall? and if it melts too fast it will do what? it's the weather dude. it snows in the winter. it warms up in the spring and melts the snow. the turns into water and runs downhill. did it last year too. and i think about every year for quite awhile. from what i saw travelling around the country a month ago, most of the snow was pretty much gone then. SD had had some major snow accumulation during the winter, but there wasn't much more than patches a month ago. but the lakes were still frozen and folks were still ice fishin'. also, "monsoon" is the high wind that comes from the ocean that precedes the rainy season off southeast asia. it ain't go nothin' to do with the U.S. Lark. -
yeah but, 99% of the scientists agree with him. you're right, it's nothing but money in the fire. plus, there a lotta of other things to use money on that might actually do some good. like my retirement fund. it's amazing how democrats/liberals think that money will fix anything. heck, if they spent the money on real stuff that might actually improve the environment, it might not be too bad. but it will all go to administation fees and somebody's cousin. sorta like the oil for food deal. Hunters are worried about global warming

i hadn't seen that before. good stuff. don't anyone get me wrong. i love mother earth and don't like to see her harmed. i wish i'da been a mountain in 1807, not 2007. i think that folks should recycle, save fuel, grow a garden, save water, not throw trash around, clean up after themselves, etc, etc, but all within reason. i talked with a major shareholder in an ethanol plant in SD a couple weeks ago. he said the best you can hope for is about a 95%/100% split on the amount of energy it takes to make a gallon of ethanol. most of the time it is 100%-100% or even less. in other words, it takes the same amount of btu's to produce a gallon of ethanol, as the gallon of ethanol has in it. where the plant makes it's money is on the gov't funding they get. as far as being a realistic product, he said there's no way it will ever be. but some greenies have decided that's what we need to do and have some politicians listening to em and that's the way it is. and at the same time, the price of corn is going through the roof and 3rd world countrys are selling their corn to ethanol producers while their people go hungry. greenhouse gases are a farce and the folks who are paying for the farce are the ones who can least afford it. all the while, guys like gore and his buddies are making billions by magnifying a lie. read up on stuff fellers. educate yourselves. like the x files used to say, the truth is out there. but like dairy farmin', you gotta wade through a lotta crap to get to the good stuff. you can't legislate the weather. you can't make science by concensus. there is more oil, drillable, underground than can be used in several more millenia. same with coal. we just need to use it better and we really do need to work on solar and wind power and dang sure on nukes. i don't know if solar and wind power is ever going to be realistic, but the more they work on it, the better they get it and while working on it, they come up with better ways to do other things to. read, and read things by folks that ain't liars. it will amaze ya what you can learn. absolutely great article. keep em coming. read em all fellers. the truth is there. this one line from this article says it all. "Weart’s claim is false, because no poll was ever taken. It is irrelevant, because science is decided by experimental facts, not by consensus" in other words, you can't legislate weather. if every scientist agrees with it, it doesn't matter if the facts aren't there. too much of this just conjecture. made up by people with no experience. hey, i'm dead serious. the gov't worries more about buzzards than it does poor black kids. i've had to deal with lead and asbestos abatement for years. per the gov't, 6 inches of clean soil is all it takes to make a lead contaminated area into a safe area. asbestos is one of the most stable, sterile things on the planet. just don't make it into a powder where it gets airborn. you can cover it with any one of dozens of materials, and it is safe, even per the gov't. but they want to dump human crap in these kids yards to make the lead safe?!?!? why not just clean it up? i'll tell ya why, because somebody has a buncha human crap mixed with other junk they got the gov't to buy and get em to believe it will fix the problem. you think they'd let em come up with that kind of fix to cure the condors? i don't think so. the irony here is so rich it's disgusting. Lark.

read this. shows ya that transplanted californy buzzards have a lot more say than poor black kids, about how they get took care of. this article is almost funny. if a buzzard eats guts and gets sick, they take away bullets and pass all kindsa legislation to fix it, even tho it sure don't look like they're right about it. but if it's poor black kids, they dump crap in your yard? why not clean the lead up and make the place safe? tear down the houses and build some new ones? instead we give em more food so they won't "eat the paint". and why do folks assume that kids eat paint? any of you ever eat paint? i was pretty poor growin' up and i never remember my mom makin' paint samwiches or ever bein' hungry enough to eat flaked off paint. some o' you guys act like maybe ya did tho. what's it taste like? and don't say chicken. anyway, read how they take care o' poor kids with lead in their yards. says this puts em at "less risk". why not elminate the risk? ya know why? somebody has some crap they wanna sell. this is just great. the stuff i read about the big anti global warming deal a couple weeks ago is where they said the 90's were the coolest decade in the 20th century. and the 30's, during the big dustbowl was the warmest, no matter what the 90's were. whether we are warmer, cooler, or the same, right now, depends on who is supplying the data. there is a big difference in the 2 camps. so it's whoever a guy wants to believe. i prefer to not believe much al gore or any of his friends want me to believe. i could be wrong a few things, but i ain't wrong when i say al gore and his pals are liars. not just about global warming either. they lie to suit themselves. my whole problem with global boils down to 2 things. 1. the guy that started has been looking for a profitable cause and finally found one. 2. you can't base what these same scientists say is billions of years of history, on a couple decades. not even a century. remember the kyoto accord? the one bush axed. one of the smartest things he's done. all it said was that modern countries, like us, great britain, germany, france, etc. would decrease their emissions so that 3rd world polluters could put out even more than they already did. the united states is the cleanest place on earth. our power plants and other industrial facilities are light years ahead of any 3rd world country. so are our cars, trucks, trains, planes, etc. i read awhile back that new American automobiles' exhaust is nearly as clean as the air they suck in the filter. that's how efficient they are. total combustion of gasoline has one emmission. water. mother nature puts out more "greenhouse" gases than industry. forest fires, volcanos, peat bogs, animal flatulence (hog farts to the folks in AJ), rotting logs, human breath, etc. everything that releases co2 does. and guess what, everything alive gives off co2. folks are making billions off of this scare. and i'm convinced it is a scare. we may be a fraction of a degree warmer than in past centuries. but simple tree ring studies show that there have been some real warm, dry times in the past. can ya say anazazi? ain't that why scientists say they moved off and faded away? don't listen to the crap. these folks have the same agenda as the far left endangered species fanatics, the far left gun control fanatics, the far left school fanatics, far left wetlands fanatics, etc, etc. they want to control you. you aren't smart enough to make up your own mind. what they say is the truth and if you don't believe it, they'll punish until you do. look at what obama said this past weekend when he didn't think anyone was recording it. he said that because that is how these folks feel. the "typical" person isn't intelligent enough to make a decision and they need the govt' to make em for em. that's how elite folks think. sift through it and figure out what is true and what is just more greenhouse gas. don't drink the koolaid. just because a politician or even a buncha scientists say so, don't make it so. there are plenty credible folks that say different. folks that i tent to believe. it's become politically correct to buy into it. well, i ain't never been or ever will be politically correct. but i try like heck to be correct. like cherbornik, said "good thing we don't step in it". Lark.
