YEP, that's that %$@#*!in' global warmin' for ya. Lark.

heck, fire is about the same thing as weather. at least naturally occuring fire. but i sure get pissed when the anti-fire guys start the fires. i've known for over a week that high winds were on the way because the jet stream was gonna drop way down here. i guess that the forest circus and burro of land management don't get the weather channel. either that or they do and thought this might be an opportunity to burn somebody out. like the cabins at turkey flat. but that would be a conspiracy theory. and i really don't think these guys are smart enough to conspire. i think they are just too stupid to be able to add 2+2 and come up with 4. the housing deal will take care of itself, if congress will let it. a buncha greedy sob's made up some new kinda loans that don't work out and a buncha other greedy sob's took em out. now they're all in trouble, and like always in America, they want someone to bail em out. i.e, the taxpayers. i pay my mortgage. i don't need to pay anyone elses. but these banks have all kindsa lobbiests that have their hands in the middle of congress and it is quite likely that we'll end up bailin' em out. like the savings and loan crap. that mccain was in the middle of and probly shoulda been prosecuted over. gov't ain't the answer. rollin' up your sleeves and makin' your own way is. this gas price deal is real deep. there's a lot more to it than oil companies makin' a buncha money. it pisses me off to no end, but consumption hasn't dropped off by one gallon. the price goes up everyday, and consumption does to. no way prices will go down when consumption raises. you only have to read the paper for 2 minutes to see what the goal is. $200 a barrel. who do you think puts this info out? the oil companys. whenever it levels out and prices of everything else affected and inflation finds it's true place, we won't feel it so bad. mexico pays about half what we do for gas. because that's what their economy will support. if we would just ok drilling in the U.S., everywhere, the price would go down as fast as it went up. but stupid whiney liberals won't allow it. when folks, like some of the whiners on this site, go off because they think things are bad, but have no idea why, it really yanks my chain. there is no excuse for stupidity. and voting in some jackass like obama will be something we may never recover from. i don't care why anyone doesn't like obama. even if it's just skin color, as long as they don't like him and won't vote for him, because he is a scary guy. so is mccain in a lot of ways. the illegal immigration will explode under him i'm afraid. that is about as bad a threat as islamic terrorists. i still think the clintons have a couple aces up their sleeves and are gonna pull some sorta super delegate coue at the convention. i hope they do because i wanna see the whiners come outa the woodwork on that one. the coolest thing about this photo is that it's my cousin's husband's back, in it. he's a former army chopper pilot who flies medevac choppers now. he told me once where he was when it was taken, but i can't remember what he said. Lark.

9-11 happened because of 8 years of head-in-the-sand politics by clinton. period. so did millions of genocide deaths all over africa and eastern europe. millions died for no reason other than there last name or what side o' the street they lived on and clinton didn't even so much as pay attention to it. so did the dot com fiasco. aids ran rampant all over africa also. terrorists bombed our embassies, our military bases, apartments where soldiers lived. and on and on. north korea, pakistan and india got the bomb, with technology clinton gave em. iran began their nuke build up under clinton. where do i even stop? 9-11 happened less than a year into W's first term. it devasted out economy. it went from around 10,000 on the dow jones down to what, 2,000 or so. where is it now? over 12,000. it's a little wobbly, but it's a money makin' son of a gun if you have any brains. we have not had not 1, not 1 dang terrorist attack on American soil or an American installation, outside of the warzone since 9-11. not one. dozens, that we know about, have been thwarted. and all because W had the nuts to take the war to them and fight an offensive battle and not sit around and try to stop them here. W has done more stop aids in africa than anyone ever has. do you ever hear anything about that? our economy, contrary to what dem's want to say, is in excellent condition. his little tax cut has been even more effective than Reagan's. but all the dem's wanna do is raise taxes and re-instate capital gains taxes. gas is high, but we're still less than europe, and if our hugger controlled congress would let us drill the gulf, california and anwar, gas would drop like a lead weight. just the threat of drilling would force opec to increase production. i'm not even gonna get in hugo chavez and his effect on gas prices. north korea's nuke program is done. all it was for, was to get us to give them money to quit, but W stuck to his guns and let it fizzle on it's own. we have a pretty good relationship with pakistan and india now, so i'm not sure where to feel about that. the afghan and iraq war are a big deal. too bad we have to be there, but we do, and it's gonna get worse. because of 8 years of hand-sittin' by clinton and the fact that W ain't gonna be in office anymore. whoever isnext is gonna be a joke and listen to polls instead of doing what is right. say all you want about weapons of mass distruction. if saddam would have allowed the UN inspectors to do what they were there for, he's still be president today. even if they didn't have them, who cares, he was the biggest threat to world peace at the time. i'm real dissapointed in the illegal alien mess. that hasn't been handled well at all and it is going to get real bad soon. wait and see. nobody running has any desire for a fix other than amnesty. wait and see what that does to the economy. say what ya want about W, but with what he's had to deal with, he's done a fair job. too bad things happend the way they have, because i think we'd really be reaping some big dividends. if only clinton would have done anything, other than ride the wave that Reagan and even Bush's dad, started. we'd be in fat city. just because things are good ain't a reason to drop your guard. you can get by without maintaining your car for quit awhile, and then it will croak on ya. a country is the same way. war is rough stuff, but it is what keeps folks free. you don't stay free by negotiating with folks who say every day that they want to kill you. you stay free by killing them first. Lark. -
why does the forest circus and the burro of land management bother with all them signs tellin' folks how to not start a forest fire, when they go out do this about a dozen times a year? they aint' gonna quit till they burn all the cabins on the mountain i guess. what a deal. arsonist tree pigs. people who cuss bush don't have much grasp on just what the world has gone through in the past 15 years. ask yourself one question, how many attacks have there been on American soil since 9-11? offense is the best defense. you can't deal with people who want to kill you, you just have to kill them first. Lark. -
heck, i nearly shot a wolf (wolf/dog cross anyway) north of williams 4 years ago. those suckers take off and go anywhere they want. Lark.

boy this sounds like a coverup in the makin' here. hounds wouldn't open on it? big animal? sounds wolfish to me. usually don't take too long to determine what kind of animal was in an attack. tracks, hair, etc. maybe the fix is in. we'll see. news on the radio this morning reported that 31,000 real live scientists, including 9,000 phd's, have signed a decree of some sort saying that human caused global warming is BS. haven't seen it the paper yet, but it will be there later today i'm sure. i ain't all that smart, but 31,000 seems like a fairly substantial number to me. what are all the gore koolaid drinkers gonna do now? maybe the gov't can pass a law that says that volcanos can't erupt anymore. i mean they're tryin' to legislate weather, why not volcanos? and while they're at it, lets don't have anymore o' them dang earthquakes or twisters either. here are a couple article about just 2 of the dozens of active volcanos right now on earth. wonder how much "greenhouse" gas they put off? maybe we can put a big scrubber or a catalytic convertor on em. feed em to the polar bears. Lark. -
well, i guess it's over. they want to keep the wolves in montana on the endangered list, even tho they aren't a native animal and there are about 3 times as many as they ever wanted in the first place and have exceeded the numbers originally agreed on as correct for the balance. they want to keep eagles in the endangered list, even tho they have recovered to numbers they never expected and there are a myriad of laws already protecting them. now they was to list polar bears. even tho this article says there are over twice as many of them now as there were in the 60's. i read a deal yesterday that said that their numbers had actually increased 5x world wide. this article just talks about north american bears and doesn't talk about russian and other european bears, that i can see. if there really is such a thing as global warming, and not just a weather change, maybe the polar bears like it. how the heck can they list an animal as threatened that is actually increasing in numbers? i'll tell ya how, ya lie. heck, we just as well put coyotes on the list, because al gore says so. you guys that buy into this stuff need to do some real searching. because this is politics trying to legislate nature and that is pure lieing bull$h!t and if you buy into to it, well, you can figure out what you're gonna be a part of. this is a sad dang deal for sure. proactive endangered legislation on an animal that is not just doing fine, but is increasing every day. anyone who can't see what's going on ain't even worth the arguement. this is huggers at their best. and you best not side up with it. nobody want's polar bears to go away. but how in the heck can you do this when they are doing better than at any time in the past 50 years? what a deal. coues deer are next i guess. Dan Finstad, my good friend, passed away this morning. he'd suffered from lymphoma for some time. wish i had more to write about him. he was an old Finn from Minnesota. don't know exactly when he was born. i'd guess he was in his early to mid 70's, we worked together for many years. we also hunted and fished and did a lot of laughin'. what a great guy. he had a really unique way to look at life and you never knew for sure if he was serious or not. unless he had a rifle in his hands. he tried to be a game warden form quite awhile, but got sick of the politics. even back in the 60's and 70's. he was as rough as a hoof rasp and as good a friend as a guy could have. one of the better trappers i ever knew. heck of a hunter. loved muzzleloaders. when he whispered, you needed ear plugs. stout as an anvil. never wore his dang front teeth, so he always sounded like yosimite sam crossed with sylvester. he was still teaching hunter's safety in january. when it was cold he wore more clothes than most folks own. he had an old land cruiser. ran into him once on the late bull hunt and it looked like somebody dumped the clothes hamper in the front seat and his big blue eyes were pokin' out of it. saw him a little later and he had a big 6x6 with him. one of the funnest days i ever had was on a muzzleloader elk hunt in 27 about 17 years ago. we both had tags. it's a long story and i just wanna keep it to myself for now. he leaves behind his wife Sandy, a fullbleed cherokee, and 2 daughters. i guarantee you one thing, they already have the pearly gates open, because they can here that noisy sob a headed that away. anyway, one o' the good ones is done in this life. hunt on Dan. save me stump by the fire. Lark.

finally some guys are startin' to get it. hoax is a good word for it. "pay no attention to that man behind the curtain". and when it comes to taxes, we pay em. the businesses don't. they just jack up the price to cover it. Lark.

ok, maybe i'm a little slow, but how can it be snowing in flag, if we're in the middle of this global warmin' deal? oh wait, i forgot, they put in on hold for 10 years just last week. also. this past weekend, on the news, they said that this last april, the one we just had a couple weeks ago, was the coldest april in the last 11 years, but a full degree, and that the average temperature for that month was colder than the average of all the aprils in the last 100 years. i know that i read that 90% of all "scientists" say that global warming is a real deal and all that, but how? why have the polar caps on mars melted? i just don't get it, i guess. to me it's just like, well, weather. What rifle are you taking on your elk hunt?

you guys can all got to apache junction (worse than heck). my kid is tryin' real hard to get me to pack his christensen .300 ultra. as lazy as i am anymore, i might do it. i can just shoot one a mile or so away and send my boys to fetch it. he killed a 6 by with it last year at 804 yards. heck, if he can do that, i ought be able to shoot one a mile or more away. but then i'd be leavin' my superior huntin' skills at the house and just be a loser like the rest o' you dudes. i'm in a real quandry. oh woe is me, i have a bull elk tag and have too many options. maybe i'll just hunt with a knife. or worse yet even, a 7mm/08. Lark. -
first off, "magnum" is a jug o' wine. it just sounds cool. i've tinkered with these short mags some. from what i see, the .270 wsm is the only one that offers much advantage. you can get several hundred fps more from it than a .270 win. not quite what a .270 weatherby does, but who wants one o' them things. and it gets close with a lot less powder. the .300 and 7mm short mags are a little better than an '06 and a .280, but are a couple hundred fps slower than their big brothers. there was a real craze about em when they first came out, but i can see most of em goin' the way of dodo birds and the 7mm/08. if you want a .300 mag, get a .300 win or weatherby. or step to an ultra or a .300/.378 and really have a hard hittin' hotrod. if you want a 7 mag, get a 7 mag or an stw or some other deal. the .25's and .32's and whatever else they make ain't ever gonna make it. and the super shorts don't feed for $h!t in most actions. but i do see some advantages in the .270 wsm. it ain't a reall .270, but it's close. Lark.
