after you do that, elk hunting will be even better. cuz its 10x funner than goat hunting. Actually although I love elk hunting... archery pronghorn hunting is my favorite!!!!! You can hunt all day long non stop!!!!! But elk hunting is a close second

5b south is an awesome unit for 290-330 bulls and there are some whoppers in there as well. They always seem to bugle... just make sure you have your track shoes on... Cuz they always seem to be on the move non stop!!!!

I personally would go either Ward outfitters Steven is a great guy and guide. Or Bill Babbish at Let er Rip outfitters also a great guy and guide!!!! Both spend lots of time in 5b south

You can't let it sit in its own blood... it has to be hanging or put it in ice chests packed with ice and tilted on a angle and keep the drain plug open to let the blood and melted water out...

I think this is the trick. I have been letting them age in the refrigerator for about a week for several years now. I shot an old, big bodied bull 3 years ago and my dad thought it was one of the best tasting elk we've ever had. Shot him on opening day and cut him up the following weekend. I actually age my elk for 14-16 days. Man that makes a huge difference... so much more tender!!!!
