And enough pins to go from 30-90 and then a 100yrd pin that is a slider. I have out to 147 with mine....... brand new they are under $100.00 IMHO one of the best sights on the market period. ......

mechanical broadheads success and failures
buffhunter replied to creed_az_88's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
Huntharder I could see that definitely happen...... but one thing people dont realize is how flexible the ribs are also.... if you center punch one in the right spot it will flex enough to take almost all the energy out of the arrow. My good friend told me the actually had some arrows bounce back at them off the rib cages...... -

mechanical broadheads success and failures
buffhunter replied to creed_az_88's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
Looks to me that he caught the back of that knuckle with one blade which took a ton of the energy from that already light package. Plus you said his arrow was 27in I think...... so he has a shorter draw which will produce less energy....... he needed more grain weight and more poundage to shoot a rage on a bull elk... just a question? Was the arrow ever recovered? And was the front of the arrow intact? Like was the broadhead sill in the arrow and not snapped off at the insert? The reason I am asking is a few years ago I shot a very nice bull well over 350. And I thought I shoulder shot him (it all happened so fast) but we were in the wide open at 50yards. When the arrow hit him it made that super loud wack sound. when he broke and ran I saw the arrow hanging straight down instead of sticking straight out like a shoulder shot should look. It puzzled me I found my arrow 20 yards later (no trees around) and it was snapped off right at the back of the insert. Later I talked to a very good friend of mine that has done extensive broadhead testing while they were developing the wapiti broadhead. They tested all kinds of heads along side the wapiti. I told him what happened and he said you made a great shot just very very unlucky. I said why? He said during all of their testing on fresh mature bull elk carcass rib cages they covered with carpet and stuffed with wet newspapers about 5% of the time they would have a bull elk rib stop a broadhead. And that was mechanical and fixed alike from 30 yards. He said that is the only way your arrow could of snapped off like that with no trees around. He said the arrow was stuck in the rib and when his leg bone or shoulder came back to run it snapped it off, if it was a shoulder hit the arrow would of been sticking straight out till he broke it off on a tree or something. And when I shot that bull I was shooting a 420grn arrow tipped with a 100grn slick trick pushing 290fps. This is just my opinion. .......... but there is no need to shoot an elk that low and far enough forward to flirt with the shoulder or knuckle. There is a ton of room behind the shoulder to catch lungs . I have shot quite a few elk 6in behind the shoulder and center of mass from top to bottom and watched them all die. And when I gutted them I center punched the lungs. I had a good 5-6 inches of lungs behind my hit. Also when you get a little further back on the lungs there are a ton more capillaries to hit which in turn expire the elk quicker. -
Games on! Muscle memory is a wonderful thing.

Got the same tag lucky buck!!!!!! Great tag tons of bucks!!!!!! Shoot me a PM and let me know when your going down if you wanna camp in the same area. I like to camp with a few people down there I've never had any problems, just gives you a better sense of security. Two buddies and I drew that tag together so we will have a decent size camp.....

well thats a poopy statement are you saying only the rich should hunt, that would be just great . the heck with the under payed. niceIm not trying to tell people how to live but if you want to do something bad enough you find a way....Um that's exactly what your doing. Telling people how to live. They did find a way. They put it on their card and hoped they'd have enough when the draw came. Who gives a $hit? Let em. Why the heck should they just not put in. Just so you can get your results a few days earlier? That's rediculous. So all of you peoe saying "just save the $. You know it's coming" have never had an unexpected expense? Truck break down or some crap? Seriously. How bout you handle your finances and they'll handle theirs. I never said not to put in now did I go read my comments...... and I am not telling people what to do I just stated what I do. I like how you add your own twist to stuff...... I dont even care about the results I know I have a tag and it will be in dec or late nov...... I was referring to the other guys comment about only rich should put in...... maybe read and try to understand what we are talking about......

well thats a poopy statement are you saying only the rich should hunt, that would be just great . the heck with the under payed. nice Dont try to make this a rich/poor thing.......... it is a responsible thing. If you are a responsible kid or adult you know when the draw is coming and should be able to save the money to apply over the course of a year...... when I was 10 my father made me do this so I could apply. Insted of using the money I made doing yard work for the neighbors on toys and junk food and other stuff I saved it till I had enough to apply for deer elk and antelope. And if I didn't draw I already had enough money for next year minus the app fee, and if I did draw I would start stashing money away again. It all boils down to being responsible with your money. Im not trying to tell people how to live but if you want to do something bad enough you find a way...... just think if you went without that soda, coffie, tea, energy drink, or beer everyday and drank water from the tap........ imagine how much money you could save????? At a minimum that would be $300.00 a year......
-
Well im going to shoot the best of both worlds for elk this year. The steel force phat head S.O.B. 1" cutting with 3/4" bleeders and little wing blades that flip out upon impact that make it 1.5" cutting on the main blade..... and they fly with my field points out past 100 yards at 308fps....... me like!!!!!!!!
-
Ive gotten more pics of him sent to me....... hes an 8x8 now
-
Century link has been good for me...... does everything I need it to do.
-
Lmao same thing here flatlander!!!!!!! Except mine says successful next to elk and antelope!!!!!!!
-
Im with you guys. If your short on money to apply for the draw where are you going to get the money for gas, food, equipment, and afford to take the time off work? Also if you want to have a good successful hunt I would think you need money for gas and food to scout a weekend or two. Your looking at around 500-1000 bucks easy.....
