Whats the problem? Just close both eyes like I do!! I am right handed and left eye dominant. I shoot right handed, archery, rifle, pistol, scatter rifle, everything. For me it's easier to close a dominant eye than to learn how to shoot *goofy. Like WOT said, "once you close one eye, the open one is automatically dominant!" *goofy is a term for skating/skiing/surfing on your non dominant side.....thought you old guys might not recognize the lingo of course I am joking.

I spent my youth hunting unit 32 in the Redington area. Me and my dad were sitting on a ridge glassing and heard a very loud plane flying over. That is the flight path for the military I guess from Tucson over the Galiuros heading east so the sounds of jets are typical but this one was louder than the rest. So I looked over my shoulder to see the Space Shuttle piggy backed on top of that monster plane that hauls it around. It seemed like it was only a couple hundred feet off the ground and I was sure it was going to smack right into the side of the mountain. It went over the mountains and was gone at what seemed to be slow motion speed. That was cool to see. One year I was hunting quail and I heard the weirdest sound coming from a bush. It was a grinding sound accompanied with some growling, moaning, whatever sound. I snuck around to see two desert Tortoise mating. If you ever wonder how it's possible they do it like all other animals! I still can't figure how that works with the shell but I saw it with my own eyes. They were getting it on and making some pretty funny noises. They were literally "knocking shells".

I can imagine since a buck turned into a cactus buck do to an accident or birth defect or whatever non-normal event that not all cactus bucks are the same. I am no expert but I would imagine that it depends on the extent of the defect. Maybe some lose antlers every few years, maybe some not at all. I bet if you examined the antlers on different Cactus Bucks that they are all a little different. The one I saw in a magazine didn't look like the one Amanda posted on the web site biology page. It looked more like a combination of moldy/octopus tentacle texture. Very odd.

Yup, to the best of my knowledge. That is the baiting laws summed up. As far as I know and was taught. In this state. That is what I found also. After my first post it got me thinking so I went through the entire regulations page by page and the only three places I found that banned baiting was water fowl, bear, and you can not use live bait or what used to be a living thing for trapping. All those rules are in lawyer language and I aint one so again take it for what it is. Next time I see my ranger buddy I'll ask him again.

I asked a Game Ranger buddy once about that and he told me that you can not bait in Arizona on public lands but it is legal on your private land. Now that word "bait" can get sticky from what I hear. A salt block out for cattle isn't bait but a pile of salt pellets under a tree stand could be conceived that way. It's all up to "intent". There is another sticky word. I would say err on the side of caution and you'll be fine. I have no legal backing or proof to my statements so take it for what it is..

I would say give the G&F a call and ask them. They will transfer you to the person who takes care of all this. I took my hunter safety course at the Oracle Courthouse in 1983!

I had a twelve pack and I still don't understand it! Now I have a headache and my bow still won't shoot.

Good times! The course was fun and the range looks good. I look forward to spending some time out there...when it cools off of course.

My bet most of the hits are the G&F reading the posts and laughing that evil deep down dark laugh. I picture one guy with his finger on the button to post the results and the other evil guy saying "NO not yet, lets wait a few days and see if anyone goes postal.......this is fun!....baaaaahaaaaahaaaaaaahaaaaaa" Yes it's pretty on my planet

I did the same, after a bazillion busy signals it finally rang so I was jumping for joy. THEN I heard a voice say "all lines are busy, please try again"! I think I made up a few new curse words that day.

You are definately in the minority. I do that also just because I can't stand being tailgated. It pisses me off when no one else does it though in return. That is just common courtesy. I am from a small town and moved to the "Big City" 10 years ago. I am still amazed at just how selfish and rude people are here. I guess it's mostly the out of staters that moved here for the cheaper housing. I have neighbors I have never met in 10 years! Most people in this valley can care less about there fellow American especially on the road ways. I hate it here mostly because of that and the heat will melt you skin on a normal day. I only live here because I have to for work. Now big brother is trying to take my picture around every corner and stick me with a bogus ticket. I haven't got one yet but when I do I am going to mail it back in a ziplock bag full of poo

So that means if you don't want to get up at 2 in the morning to check the results then we won't really find out until well into August. The phone lines will be tied up and the web site will be locked tight for at least a week. When the Elk results came out I tried for 3 days to get results and finally had to set my alarm for 2am. THEN it still took an hour to get through. My wife was ready to lock me up in a padded room in a straight jacket. The funny thing is now I can get right in and see I still didn't get an Elk or Antelope tag. I could have slept in that day!

That's just the thing, by the time you notice something funky it's usually over right there. If your out in the field when it goes south your hunt is over. Think of it this way, if you replace the string then you'll have your stock one as a back up if anything happens. As we all know nothing ever bad happens on the range, only out in the field at the worst time possible. I change the oil in my truck every 3-5K and my bow string every year.

They were in the same area and there isn't many Coues there. Nothing scientific.
