I just returned from a trip in the Tonto outside Phoenix. We went to plink but forgot the restrictions. BIG signs all over the place. We didn't shoot (nor would we with the restrictions) or see anyone out there, but a very low flying Sheriff help reinforced the "we are watching" mindset. It was clear they wanted to know what we were doing.

NEED TO CLEAR SOME THINGS UP ABOUT THE TRAILCAM THEFT
azshtr replied to AZ_SAWBUCK's topic in The Campfire
Sound like you might have jumped the gun there a little bit Magnum PI. Next time you decide to go "viral" with your hot scoop you might wanna ensure not to slander people you dont even know. Why not just let the law handle these types of things Judge Dredd? Your case will hardly rival the State of Florida Vs Zimmerman on tv if that what you were hoping for. keep up the good work Columbo!!! One thread and I now have 2 on my ignore list. Seriously, where and how can I add people to my ignore list? No more drible from that rifleassclownman? Sounds awesome! Just go to your control panel (upper right of your screen, it's a pull down with your screen name) > choose manage ignore preferences > enter the user name = bliss -

This will not end well for them. Either in this life or the next.

Such sorrow. My heart goes out to all involved.

There aren't a bunch of guys beating up Jamil. I was the only one and I apologized if I was wrong. Let's not spin 125Coues thread into something it's not. Good luck to both 125Coues and Jamil. Oh and... sweet looking guns.
-
If this is legit I apologize, it just follows the same patterns of all the other for sale, new member scams. Cash is king... I would still be careful. And cash means cash, not cashiers checks, money orders, western union etc. But that's just my experience of dealing with online transactions talking. Jamal... who in Phoenix that you know is a member here that saw this? They have great taste in firearms.

Oh boy, here we go again. Not the OP, that looks legit. Some newbie from Wisconsin just wanders in here looking to buy? And he uses language like "advise". I would almost guaranty this will turn out to be an offer of payment, then ask you to ship, but down the road you will wind up with no money and no guns. Another meathod is sending you a check for more than asking price, ask you to deposit it and send him the difference and guns. Either way, the bank will take the check and then later come after you for the funds when it bounces back as fake. Sweet looking guns by the way.

I'm a commercial photographer who deals with © issues. You can send them a cease and desist. You can send them an invoice for the use of the images. You can sue them. However none of it will do any good if they choose to ignore you, which they probably will. Then it becomes very expensive to pursue and the winners are lawyers. If it were me I'd send them a nice letter asking for a trap as compensation and give them permission to use the image with payment of a trap. That is probably the only thing that won't ruffle feathers. -
I can attest to the fact that 22 is notorious for this. About a half dozen of my friends and I have been victims in the last several years along the rim country. Well, it finally happened that one of my friends caught someone red handed stealing his stuff. The thief had his blind, feeder, 2 cameras, chairs, and other items tied down on his quad. The thief had his wife and his very young son, maybe 3yrs old, along with him to help. He actually drove his quad right to the spot even though there wasn't a trail or road. Long story short the thief untied all the gear and laid it on the ground and drove off. My friend recognized him as a delivery driver and son of an owner of a well known construction company out of the Payson area. Charges have been made thru the forest service and sheriff's offices. This individual also admitted he has been stealing hunter's equipment for years. I assume he is responsible for all my stuff as well. When my friend gives me the OK I will post his picture here and posters will be hung in the Payson area. TJ Thieves deserve to be publicly humiliated... PICTURES!

If it was April 1st I'd say good joke. Unfortunately this is a sign of where "our" public servants want us. OUT.

I just returned from RP after a couple years of staying away. We had a great time. It sure was less crowded than in years past, which is a shame for the local economy. My only gripe is the beaches were TRASHED after the local crowd showed up at the beginning of Sandy Beach on Sunday morning. All week long it was just tourists on the beach and the beach was very clean. Sunday the crowd was huge and obviously local. The trash was disgusting... diapers included. They must clean it up though because when we got there earlier in the week it was nice. Who dumps trash like that and doesn't care? I don't understand that mentality.

I agree... "routine" patrol and they capsize a boat? Someone has some explaning to do.

That military officer had to be thinking "this is who I answer to?" but he stayed professional to the end. I would have laughed and started looking for candid camera, then... "wait... you're serious?". -
Whats wrong with any of that? They didn't break any laws. They are looking for someone who killed and wounded many people. Would you prefer they ask him nice to come in? I don't think he would have complied.i don't remember saying anything about anything. So please clarify, what did you mean by "food for thought"? Are you in the camp of "rights trampled" or "do what it takes within the law" or?

Fair enough... In that case I'm not sure what you were saying. I think they did give him enough rights 1) they let him live 2) they followed the law regarding his Miranda rights in the case of terrorism... they didn't have to right away. Are you assuming he won't get a trial? Or that exceptions to the Miranda rights shouldn't be in place?
-
I thought the question of rights violation was referring to the population as a whole. I'm not sure what rights a citizen terrorist has, I do know they are slightly different than a non terrorist criminal. For instance: Anyone can be taken into custody and detained if suspected of a crime. They have 24 hours to charge you, and that time can be extended first 12 hours by the police, then even more by a judge. In the case of terrorism they have 28 days to charge you. That's a huge difference. I would be very surprised if they didn't follow the law very close, we just probably are not aware of what the law is in this case. I was not aware there are exemptions to the miranda rights, turns out there are and for a good reason (such as asking "any more bombs dip wad?"). I don't see this as an issue of eroding rights for the general population. I'm pretty darn sure he will get a trial... he IS an american. For me the bigger issue this shows is... yes there is a reason to have higher capacity magazines and an assault type rifle other than for hunting.
