Benelli Super Black Eagle II ComforTech Left Hand Semi-Auto Shotgun for Sale
GonePointing posted a topic in Classified Ads
I have a Benelli SB2 for sale. It is for a left handed shooter. I have only fired about 2 boxes of shells through it so it is like new. It is a 12GA and the length is 28" barrel. It is a super nice gun I just need money more then I need the gun right now. I think I paid something like $1600 for it but I will let it go for $1200. I also have the original plastic case as well as all the tubes it came with. If interested let me know? Thanks! -
If you still have it can you provide pics?

GSP Pups Are Here!
GonePointing replied to GonePointing's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
There are not mine technically since I only own the sire for this litter. The guy who owns the Dam is setting the price but I think I heard him say $550 each. -
Anyone looking for quality GSP pups let me know. I breed my male to a real nice female and she gave birth to 11 wonderful pups. If interested let me know and I will put you in touch with the owner of the female.

Dog info
GonePointing replied to REDFIELD11's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
You cannot go wrong with just about any upland dog. It all depends on you and what you like. I would highly recommend you get a dog that you like not what others tell you to get. In the long run you are the one that has to grow old with the dog. All have their pros and cons. However, what you heard about GSP is not true. I have 6 GSP's and none of them have been hard to train. I will say I personally feel it is easier to train a female then a male. That is just my opinion. I recently bought an English Pointer and I am very excited to have her. However, she is going to be strictly a field trial dog and not a hunting dog. As a matter of fact she will never have a bird in her mount as long as I can help it. I have friends with Britts that are good hunting dogs as well. I also agree with the e-collar but only after you learn how to use it and what it is designed to do for you. Too many handlers get the e-collar and then shock the u know want out of the dog and wonder why it is afraid of its own shadow. Start with a check cord and a pinch collar first. Once you have this down the transition to the e-collar. If you ever need any help let me know and I would be happy to get you on the right track. Also, I would highly recommend you join the Arizona Pointing Dog Club. Great resource for you and your dog. Last but not least also look at www.dobbsdogs.com. Great info here as well. Good luck whichever way you go. -
Turkeys and Elk
GonePointing replied to GonePointing's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
I know, I know! It just sucks watching turkey after turkey and I can't shoot them. I finally saw elk again last night. I saw a heard that had two bulls that I could see. One was a 5X5 and the other a 6X6. Never came in close enough to take a shot. Maybe tonight. -
I am currently on a hunt in Unit 23 for an Elk. I was sitting in a tree stand last night for about 4 hours. During this time I had about 15 turkeys coming in within 25 yards and as far out as 150 yards. However, they were around for at least 3 of the 4 hours. My question to the forum is does turkeys hanging around when on an elk hunt hurt you, help you or have no impact either way? I do not have much experience with turkeys since I don't really hunt them. I mean I have shot a turkey with a bow during the archery deer hunt but I have not hunted them by themselves. Not that I would not do so it is just I have not been drawn for turkey yet. Maybe this one coming out soon will change that. Crossing fingers! Anyway, I was curious as to whether you thought it was good to have them hang around or is this bad. My thought was if they are around then elk might think the area is clear and safe. However, with the turkeys there I also wonder if elk will not come in because of them. What do you think?

I had that hunt last year. I had a bull tag and I really wish I had a cow tag. I saw only two bulls the whole time. One was a spike the first morning and I passed on him. The other was a 5X5 that I would have shot if road hunters on quads did not scare him off before he was in shooting range. I will not put in for 22 again. Way too many hunters! I saw more hunters then I did animals. However, that being said I agree with the other post that you will get into elk all around where you are staying. Drink a cup of coffee and then sit on the porch. You will see elk from there. Good luck!

I think the idea of a camera looking at the camera you are using for game is a great idea. I will try this next time. I am sure there is little I would be able to do either way but if I get a pic of the crook you can be assure that I will plaster their photo everywhere.

I have to tell you I had a mixed day today when I went to unit 23 to check my cameras. I have some real nice bulls on camera and since I have an archery bull tag that starts this Friday I am really excited. However, while on this trip today I learned that some people just don't deserve to be in the woods to hunt. I went to one of my favorite spots to check the camera and replace batts and when I got there no camera. Then I looked up in the tree to see if my stand was still hanging and that was gone as well. Apparently someone else needed my stand and camera more than I did. The stand was even locked to the tree so they must have cut the lock to get it away. I hear of these kinds of things happening all the time but I never had it happen to me until today. I am really pissed about this but what can I do! This location is very well hidden and is not on any topo maps so either it is someone who knew I had it there (maybe local rancher or ranch hands) or someone who was just lucky enough to stumble onto it. There is nothing I can do about it but boy does it make me mad! I just don't understand how someone can be that way. I would love to catch up with that person. To be so low to steal these items. Buy your own darn stuff you thief.

Quality German Shorthair Pointer Pups for Sale
GonePointing replied to GonePointing's topic in Classified Ads
Thanks they did turn out real nice this time. The plastic pool is the best way to do it. I buy two of them at Ace Hardware for $12 each and swap back and forth when it is time to clean the bedding. We clean the plastic real well also. With having two of them we do not have to worry about where to put the pups while cleaning one of them. However, you are correct in that at 4 weeks we are done with them. At that point we have a gate pen setup that we use. Not my favorite time due to the constant changing of the newspaper. About this time we are glad to know we only have 3 more weeks until they go home. So far we have deposits for 3 females and 1 male. Still have 2 females and 2 males looking for good homes if anyone is interested. My wife wants to keep one but we have too many already so this time they all have to go. I will have more pics soon to share. The tails are docked and they are starting to change colors now. In about 1 week we will know where we are with the colors. As for the book, I have not read it. -
The pups are here. Our dam delivered 8 beautiful GSP's yesterday. There are 5 females and 3 males. If you would like to see more photos please PM me with your email and I would be happy to provide them. All with real nice markings. Even better than the last time we breed these two dogs. These pups will go fast since both dam and sire are AKC master hunter certified so let me know if you are interested. Dam - http://www.perfectpedigrees.com/3genview.php?id=1873 Sire - http://www.perfectpedigrees.com/3genview.php?id=1872 These pups will be $600 each on a first come, first serve basis. Thanks, Todd

Quality German Shorthair Pointer Pups for Sale
GonePointing replied to GonePointing's topic in Classified Ads
Thanks for the kind words. It is easy to do when the dogs are of such a good bloodline. I am excited to see what these dogs do in the future. I hope I am lucky enough to hunt over these pups some day. -
You might want to consider a double ladder stand so you can sit with him to allow him to get used to being 16' in the air. It is kind of scary at first.

I have seen drug runners in 36A. A few years ago a hunting bud and myself were archery hunting and we stopped on a ridge to rest and glass. All of a sudden we see 16 guys with packs walking right down the center of the wash below us. They were no more then 200 yards away. The one in the front and the one in the rear had rifles. All had back packs. We just sat there and watched them go right on by. They never knew we were there. I am not as excited about hunting south as I used to be cause of the activity with drug runners, however I do not think I would stop because of them. It would be hard since there are some nice bucks in that unit. I mean I should say there are no bucks there so not worth checking out.

GERMAN SHORTHAIR POINTER PUPS FOR SALE
GonePointing replied to AZMEATHUNTER's topic in Classified Ads
Congrats! Gotta love the little guys until they figure out how to get out of the whelping box. I can't wait to see the pedigrees for the dam and sire. I have a litter due the end of July. If interested look at the links for their pedigrees. I also just bought another female I get this coming weekend from UT that is the daughter to FC/AFC Staten's Pearl MH and the line bread grand daughter to dam FC Crystal Sky. I will be sending this dam off to a pro (Bill Gibbons) to get ready for field trials when she is older. My goal is the use this one for breeding in the future. Good luck with your pups and again congrats! http://www.perfectpedigrees.com/3genview.php?id=1872 http://www.perfectpedigrees.com/3genview.php?id=1873 Todd -
I drew a Nov archery bull tag last year and passed on a spike. Saw a nice 5x5 coming but he was spooked by other hunters before I was able to get close enough for a shot. Then saw nothing but cows the rest of the hunt. This year I drew another archery bull Nov tag and I am not sure what I will do. Part of me wants to hold out for a big one and the other part of me says kill the first one I see. I have only been drawn 2 times ever for archery bull so I am yet to fill the freezer and spend money on a wall mount bill. For elk that is! Yoo many of my hunting buds tell me that if I shoot the little ones then I will never get the big one. I can see some truth in this but then the freezer is empty. I think it will be a game time decision but I am leaning more toward holding out. I think the hunt I drew is 10 days long and I will hunt the whole time. I hope to tag one this year. As for the comment on going in on full sheets for the draw, I am not sure if that helps or not. Every year but the last two I put in with friends to fill the 4 spots on the application. We were never drawn. The past two years I decided to put in alone and I was drawn both years in a row. Maybe luck but I would rather be lucky then good!

AZMEATHUNTER, Can you PM me with the pedegree info for your dam and sire? I do not want to buy a pup for I have 7 GSP's now and another one on the way but I might be interested in breeding depending on the line. I would like to see what it looks like and how it matches with what I have. Thanks, Todd -

You can get pigeons from Ed at 602-487-1151. His son is the one who sells the birds but Ed can get these for you as well. Ed makes cages and traps as well. These are great guys that we work with through the Arizona Pointing Dog Club. Good luck!
