This is my Jan archery buck. Just got pics from Wellers. I'm very pleased. I almost didn't shoot this buck. I am now obsessed with this buck. Sent pics of teeth an jaw to Amanda she thinks this buck could have been 10 yrs old!! This deer has some insane character. Couldn't be happier an can't wait to pick him up.

Here are a few field pics. You can see he had a few tine repairs. With points fixed he might push 100". 19" main beam on the one side an a ton of mass. Score doesn't matter with a 10 yr old deer tho. -
Bull in the 3rd pic is dead. Not able to paste the link for some reason. Pics on A3 trophy hunts Facebook. Opening day archery bull.
-
I'm not sure but with coues sheds they'd most likely use the tub thing that they use to create an repair broken tines. Any taxidermist would most likely be able to do it. Just a guess tho. I honestly don't know for sure

Have replicas made. Simple an not to expensive

This is funny. Unit 1 is not managed for a trophy unit. Its a product of the fire. 300 archery bull tags and a cow hunt going on the same time. Its a joke. Sure there are some giants but gnf shouldn't take credit for managing it that way. Maybe we should thank the USFS for torching the unit. Just give it a few more years. It'll be what 3a 3c now is. Because they managed it for trophy bulls about 10 yrs ago too.

Congrats. Was wondering how your hunt went. PJ was keeping me updated while I was with him but had to go back to work. Congrats again! Sweet bull!

BTW kevin I notice a lot of silver in that beard. I know its not age, is that wisdom?
-
Congrats kevin. Awesome bull. Way to get it done

Muscle memory. Focus an let your body go into auto pilot. I know its easier said than done but how many times have you heard the phrase " it all happened so quick I didn't have time to get nervous" if you do it enough it almost becomes a reaction. Like was said before focus on a spot an release follow thru. Muscle memory. I'm no expert. I've had my fair share of buck fever but I have also killed a lot of animals with my bow too an I can say that 90% of them happened extremely fast an muscle memory saved me.
-
Just a reminder too. There isn't a statagie I'm aware of the works more often than fail. Your still hunting
-
All this talk about the 3rds. Those g2s go on for days with some serious curve! Giant bull congrats. This bull doesn't get passed up 45 min into any hunt. Congrats

'tis the season for kills - a little advice given for leftover part disposal
shanehamblin replied to naturegirl's topic in The Campfire
The day that I cover up my hard earned trophy in my vehicle so some hippie picking mushrooms doesn't get offended will be the day I just quit hunting all together. An grey ghost is right. We were raised old school. Almost always we brought the entire animal out. To this day if possible that's the way my dad prefers to do it. An honestly until you mentioned it the thought never crossed my mind to cover a kill in my truck. An since you mentioned covering it with a tarp. Go ahead an cover up your kill with a tarp an see how much meat you have left when you unload it. Especially in the early fall. -

Swarovski SLC HD or Vortex Razor HD?
shanehamblin replied to nboni.2007's topic in Optics and tripods
Its not even close. If you have the money to do it swaro all day. I've got swaro slc hd 10s an am really wanting the 15 HDS now cuz there is such a difference in the 2. At first I didn't notice it but now that I've spent a lot of time behind the HD glass its far superior to anything else -
Guess my life sucks. Go rv!

I don't see a big difference from the top of a jeep to the back of a truck. The hood of the jeep is a different story an is stupid if thats the case. Its hot gotta get it on ice asap. Trust me I know plenty on hunter education thanks tho
