Might be a month late but thought I'd share my bull I got at the beginning of Oct. It was a tough hunt with all the rain, wind, sleet, and snow which made my hunt that much more fun!

Has anyone picked up any fresh coues sheds? thought i'd share a couple pick ups from this year (nothing fresh) I found this rack up in the higher country while looking for elk sheds in April he scroes 110" This buck scored 100". As it lays in the evening time right before i got back to camp. attempt number 1 this year for coues sheds MAY 3rd Here are some sheds i found on the same camping trip. They are from the same buck(not the buck above) just a year apart. The shed on the left is about 2 yrs old and the right is about 3 yrs old. As you can see he gained mass but also lost some tine length. He also grew an extra point. Too bad both the eye guards were chewed up. Different angle Thanks for looking! please update me if you found any fresh coues sheds. I have yet to go on my second trip. THE RATTLERS ARE OUT!!! haha

found these in about an hour yesterday after breaking thru some huge snow drifts A long hard haul back to camp last week. The hiking is worth it!! Had to get a pic going to camp a few more from this week!

My hunt started Christmas day... I've been out in the field a lot lately and have been seeing anywhere between 5-10 does a day. But only a few small bucks....i've glassed and glassed and glassed.. Walked an average of 7 miles a day.. Seen many fresh rubs. Lets hope that all this snow has them moving around. And that the RUT has picked up.. Every doe i glassed up was alone or in groups.... WITH NO BUCKS!!!! A couple good bucks have been taken this year here on the white mtn rez.. a 120 during the general(november) hunt and a 130 couple days ago.. during this trophy hunt(the rut).

Smoked ONE!!! 350 yard shot dropped him in his tracks.. not a biggie i was hoping for.. he'll go about 80 icnhes. my brother got one too his buck should hit the 100 inch barrier.. HARDEST HUNT TO DATE!!!!!! 2 ft of snow below zero temps in a tent.. hiking in 4 miles and 4 miles out each day. drove the truck as far as we could til it bogged into the snow set up camp. came back into town threw on the tire chains and pushed our way thru.. LONG Story short.. wednesday the 5th my brother killed his at 4 pm. thursday i smoked mine at 425 pm. got back to camp truck died out. camped another night. my dad shows up the next day we try to get the truck started but dies out slowly.. so put 4 tire chains on the jeep. pushes the f250 quite a ways til the mud gets tooo deep.. so the truck is still out in the mtns.. gonna get it monday morning. i have to work all weekend.. WILL POST PICS of the baby buck i shot.. and my brothers massive coues...

thanks guys.. Some weather indeed! gonna be hunting in at least a foot of snow.. oh man gotta set up camp. thinking of building an igloo!! haha ... All em does are there just gotta wait for the big guy to show up! i was glassing a couple days for hours but little movement. So i decided to drop into some canyons and glass glass glass.. I'm hunting right by the border of San Carlos rez and The white mtn rez.. black river. many canyons that drop into the river. a couple huge mtns.. Remote area so that led me to walking to the tops and bottoms.

This MONSTER survived another year or Lion food!! no one seen him during the hunt.. and now the place he lives is snowed in.. at least 2-3 feet of snow..

I was out in the field as well on Weds.. and found quite a few fresh scrapes... The bucks are now hanging around the does.. I seen a couple smaller bucks having a lil shoving contest as well.

So this is the lake that i'll be at this weekend camping and fishing.. Its really starting to pick up because of the spawnin season under way.. Hopefully i catch a WHOPPER!! I'll update with you sunday night with pics of the catches...

126 3/8..... Okay i can't watch anymore coues videos!!!!!!!!!! GETS THE ADRENILINE PUMPING!!! AND MY HUNT ONLY STARTS ON CHRISTMAS DAY!! I've been awake all night exploring the web site and watching the videos of coues deer.. Who can sleep after that?!! GOOD LUCK TO ALL THAT ARE GOING TO HUNT THIS YEAR!! May you bag a trophy of a lifetime!!

Okay I plan on getting some better pics today! Oh, MAN!! Can't believe this guy is out there roaming around.. Hope i get him during the rut this year.. how sweet would that be to get a 150" buck one year then a 180" buck the next???? Well Waylon has the first shot at this monster at the end of November A 3 week hunt.. Then my hunt starts Christmas day.. THE RUT!!! Good luck Waylon!!

I found these the past couple days even with the people that go out before our season starts.. I was upset when i went out Thursday morning i went to a place and walked the area and saw some foot prints.. Someone had already been in the area a couple days before and this was the first day!!! Why won't they abide by the rules too!!!! Well i went to a different place and found these. There is a rumor going around here that a tribal member is camping right now and won't be back in town til today, but anyways some guys were saying that he had found a pair of sheds.. 8 by 10 that might gross in the 450's!!!!!!! Hopefully i get to see.. Well hope you like the pics.. i'll be out there again today..Won't be able to get to the area where i got my 150" coues til tuesday.. just starting the day off day 2 day 2 finds day 1 day 1 finds seen this bull still wearing his gear

This question has probably already been posted but, When do they start losing there antlers?? Here on the reservation, we aren't allowed to pick any up until after april 1st.

okay here we go the shed hunting season offically starts this thursday April 1st here on the reservation!!!! everyone is pumped to get out there and collect all these horns laying around out there!!! I will update you with the tribal members finds and post pics.. You usually see truck loads come into town for a couple weeks.. As for me i am gonna spend a couple days where i bagged my 150 buck and look for his sheds.. i think it'd be cool to have the whole set of him.. no one has found a shed from him all these years so hopefully i get my hands on them!!!
