I bought mine off a cw member that used it on a buff hunt. You have to go online and setup an account for each unit. Each one has a unique ID. If there is still an account tied to it you cannot set up a new one. Me and the member had to do a little back and forth with Garmin to get it wiped. Once you have an account, only you can activate or deactivate it.

It's called grammar, space cadet. Darwin works in mysterious ways, embrace it & ditch the INREACH. Do it for humanity. I'll sleep better at night knowing you don't carry a spot or inreach in the back country. When you have an accident miles from nowhere and you are laying in the freezing cold, just keep telling yourself how not having a little box that could have saved your life is survival of the fittest.

I took one to Africa last year. My wife's only stipulation for me going hunting. Worked well for texting. Placed it on the roof of the hut I was staying in and was able to have text conversations in a somewhat timely fashion, bluetoohthed through my phone.

I bought a primos alpha dog and I have been nothing but happy with it. I got mine when they were on sale for about $150. Not on sale it is close to $300 and for that price I would consider a foxpro or one of the higher end e calls. Just make sure you get one that can carry the sound out there. Contrary to what some say I think a good e-call is better that mouth calls. Such a variety of choices. My success at calling has exploded since I started using one. Coyote pup distress, antelope fawn distress will bring in any coyote within ear shot. Pig distress on a hung up coyote will bring him in running.

Very cool. I've been told bobcat sets will catch greys but I have never cought one. For me it's always bobcat, skunks or rabbits. Never cought a badger either. Do you specifically target badger or is it incidental? I've been trapping some juniper prairie country and have found some holes about 8 inches around and assume they are badger. Was considering setting a trap at one just to see.

Yup. Cat. Segmented, blunt ends, lacking berries or seeds. Mostly meat diet make them start pretty green, oxidize to black and bleach out white fairly quickly. Top track is no question cat. Bottom tracks a little harder to tell. The heal pad is the easiest way to tell a cat track and it not very clear in the picture if it has two or three lobes but the track lacks nail marks in fairly deep mud which makes me think it's a cat. The track also appears wider than it is tall and also it looks like the second toe on both tracks is a little farther forward, kind of like our index finger, which would imply cat.

I am bad about taking pics and its kind of hard by myself, setting my phone in the rocks and setting a timer. But here are a couple more

It seems like nearly all hunts are getting like this. You should have seen the 7 deer hunt with over 1000 tags. I was in there this morning setting traps and there were a ton of people out. Just keep at it, hunt harder than the rest and you'll get it done. Saw a big herd in Schultz at sunrise yesterday hitting water and saw a really nice bull out in the juniper flats this morning. They are there.

Where are you located?

Sunday evening I was able to harvest this buck. Defiantly not the biggest but I feel very fortunate to harvest any animal with a handgun. After fighting the wind all morning and passing on three other bucks that day because I didn't feel comfortable with the shot, I double lunged this buck at 95 yards off hand.

Heck ya. Love the single shot bolts. Is that an xp100 or savage striker?

I'm excited and kind of sick to see it. It's always bitter sweet to see bulls from a unit you have a later tag for.

What I learned was practice in you winter gear, i.e. jackets, gloves, beanie. I think its often over looked on the late hunts until you get there and realize technique or even ability to draw back is is very different when your all bundled up.

I've got the third peaks hunt in 7e. Goal is a 300 or better bull with a handgun.

Seriously, people make a much bigger deal of this than it is. The area to the north east of flagstaff ( doney park) hardly goes a year with a positive test for plague. I cant tell you how many times the CDC closed the play ground when I was in elementary school because of this, and in my entire life I can't remember of one person getting sick. It's not the middle ages, and if cought ,is treatable today.

I have an in reach explorer I bought off a member here a few months ago. Used in on a hunting trip in Africa. Worked great. Let me know if your interested.

I was lucky enough to get an opportunity to hunt the northern cape this year on a work trip. It was my first trip to Africa. We hunted obout 500,000 acres of De Beers diamond mine property with Madabula Safaris. No fence, free range Africa at its finest. I was lucky enough to harvest a springbok, blesbok, red hartebeest, warthog and grey duiker, all with a handgun.

Are you using a standard G2 frame? If so, any concerns about stretching the frame? Zero concerns. We have built encore and contender barrels in every caliber under the sun and the only thing that will hurt a g2 are belted magnums with factory equvilent loads. I have one contender barrel in 500 nitro express and the barrel and frame are doing fine even after a few hundred rounds.

Yes. It was Rooipoort. What an amazing place. Unfortunately we might have been some of the last people to hunt there. I guess after the whole Cecil thing, Debeers is caving to the do-gooders and is closing some areas to hunting. They just closed an area called Venetia, on the boarder of Kruger nat. Park and I guess Rooipoort is next on the chopping block.
