last year both of my kids took their very first deer and both coues at that they by no means are any record holders one a thick 2 pt and one a small 3 pt but I have both of them at the taxidermist just for the simple fact that it is their first deer and it is a memory i want to hold onto for the rest of my life!!!!! i am also in the proces of having someone do a portrait of the kids with their deer as seen in some of the field pics to place next to the mounts on the wall! this is a great way to preserve a memory for many many years to come! congrats on an awesome trophy and some great memories!!! no his is just a regular ole m77 i think it shoots great, i just think the internet article he read poisoned his mind and he doesnt have all the facts just thought id do some digging for him so he doesnt sell and regret it later!

he is reading up on it and everything he is reading says how inaccurate the ruger barrels are due to the fact of how they are cast and such, was thinking of selling it but I think this is an awesome platform for him to build on and was just looking for some info on what a good aftermarket barrel would be!

+ 1 on shopping for antlers, cant wait for another chance to get out in the woods! this time i will be the one behind the trigger!!!

so here I am unemployed due to a layoff 2 months ago, I have applied anywhere and everywhere only to be told i am over qualified for the position or dont even get a call back! being that money is now getting extremely tight i was possibly thinking about selling my hunting equipment ie glasses bows rifles and so on and so fort the bad thing is not sure ill ever get the things back or that Ill ever be able to replace them is this a good decision? ___________

i have a wife and step daughter down here and we rent but it was getting tough! not out of the woods yet but going back to work and not gunna need to sell the gear is awesome! there is light at the end of the tunnel!

just an update! I now have a job! and things are looking up! i now do not think that selling any of my tools or hunting gear will not be necessary! thanks for all the support and opinions from the poll! CJ

why would you want to sell such an amazing trophy?

we had similar problems in 6a during the jr hunt! we had luck on the south end of the hunt finding elk but still ended up eating tag soup due to some blown opportunities! good luck as stated above get up high and use the biggest glass possible and spot them from afar!

no offense to anyone but +1 , I am a firm believer of if it aint yours leave it alone!!!

once again this weekend out there with my son on his mule deer hunt we came across some decent coues bucks, one a nice 2x3 or small 3 pt and a big spike spotted them when my dad was on the stalk of a nice 3pt mulie and a wounded 1x2! the mullies gave us the slip but not before my son put the smack down on a great tasting spike! i know where to go now if I want a decent buck, but would like to hold out for 100" + buck. the bucks are there, never heard of shutes horse shoe bend does hold both types of deer but i tend to think it holds more mulie then anything, try out torwards salt river canyon back behind seneca lake or since you are by horse shoe bend dont over lok richmond basin area on the way to horse shoe bend! good luck to you! I also have the thanksgiving hunt coming up!

everytime i have been out except for once i have seen bucks just not the ones im looking for! they are all coues of course just dont quit reach that 100" mark! they are out there just have to keep on glassing !

you should also contact jim white of uni-daptor i beleive he also has the tri-pod mounts for the leica, he machines them and everything he has is top notch product and he also has some of the best customer service i have ever seen!

yeah ill be in there in late november too! been seeing some decent bucks but not a whole lot! I will be up there this weekend doing some scouting for me and also for my sons muley tag so if ya see a green durango with a cwt sticker on it dont be afraid to stop and say hi! CJ
