Calling all GURU"S , seeking advice

Just a few key points I have learned since I called my first fox on my 10th birthday in 1994. Hide the truck Be 100% silent walking in. Try keeping the wind in your face all the time. (On your approach & during the stand) Get a decoy, it will focus the predators attention away from you. Call at least 7 mins for fox and 15 for coyotes. Get as many stands in a day as you can. Don't discount the use of a shotgun for predators. Get on the predator masters forums for guys that are totally nuts for this stuff.

    Shed hunt 2/14

Daniel, it does seem a bit early for sheds but you won't find any if you're sittin' at home. Fresh lion kill? My preferred method for shed hunting is to wander around the mountains aimlesly then when it seems all hope is lost, look down at my feet and find a monster two point muley shed Those tiny sheds are all I find, but I figure that it's just getting me ready for when I cross paths with the big ones.
  3. This is the 15th Grey that has come to the call this season. This was shot by one of my buddies. Kenny's First Fox! Out of the 15 I think we have killed 9. Also got a few quail.

    FOX PRO Predator call

the foxpro forums has a thread dedicated to sounds. Might check it out and happy hunting!
  5. Got my new Foxpro Scorpion and I am having a blast with it. Got a fox for my buddy Colin who has never shot any predators before. Now he's hooked. Then I called in a double yesterday and got one at 20 yards and one at 50. Found a couple of muley sheds too
  6. Colin's wife was driving his truck that day! Colin and I were at the gun show with his boys. Fudruckers huh? BUSTED!!!!!
  7. When we were caping out a Javelina this weekend a guy from our camp walked up with a knife for us to try. It was a folding knife with replaceable scalpel blades. He said he bought it from some sporting goods store on Cave Creek. I was busy using the knife when I should have found out where to buy one! Does anyone know what I'm talking about and where I can order one?
  8. Wow! I guess I went to the right place for this question. Thanks!

    3 greys 2 sheds

I don't think I'm ever gonna catch up to jiminaz but i'll give it a shot! Yeah, He's a buddy and couldn't afford a lot. I wanted to get him set up with a good small game gun. Otherwise, he was gonna take out his .270 win that Casey gave him. A little overkill for fox.
  11. Only Used at the range once. Never used on a hunting trip. Packed full of features. See this link for more details. Bushnell Scout 1000 I'm in Prescott if you want to pick it up. Asking $300 Retails at $375.

Actually a Stevens but it's the same gun as the Savage. I had it sitting around and sold it to him for $30.

    Weekend hunt

very nice! You ever get in on the competition on the foxpro forums? I only entered 2 yotes on there last year and I still won a hand call. Not bad.

    Javelina Unit 20A need suggestions

I work in Groom Creek and the people feed them all the time. They are usually really close to the community and are pretty easy pickins with a bow. A little too close to homes for a rifle. There's also quite a few within the immediate area of Goldwater Lake.
  15. Pretty sure I didn't misplace it but I don't want to jump to conclusions and say it's stolen. I could have sworn it was in the back seat of my pickup. I have the remote but no FX3. It had some ASAT pattern 3D tape around the handle. The plastic was also melted right around the antenna. It was probably lost somewhere in 19a, 21, or 20a, or unfortunately taken. Had a lot of Coyote sounds, prey sounds, and other random sounds like racoons, grey foxes, fawn distress, etc.... Serial # FX3 43BA05F. I have contacted Foxpro and they know to call me if someone trys to buy sounds for it. I know it's a strech but if anyone finds it out in the woods or in a pawn shop, please let me know. Thanks.

    A good day of calling

Love the NOTCAL sticker! LOL I have the same one! Good work on the dogs! Amazing how so many guys are leaving the 22-250's, and .223's at home and dusting off the shottys.

    A grey

Got this one yesterday afternoon with the foxpro and whirling woodpecker. Realized that the 10/22 is not the ideal tool for fox. I think a 12 guage with #4 would have been better.

    A grey

as fast as those little buggers come bouncing in through that thick stuff it is way to hard to find them in the scope. I found that a moving shot on a fox at 20 yards is best suited for the 12 guage.
  21. Saw that cell phone pic this morning, We need the good pics on here! Story too.

    grey tundra

Think I saw it too. By the fair grounds on 89a. Was it a tundra or t100? Ladder rack I think?

    another stomper

    coyote for sure
  24. In regards to the second question. I love deer and I love killing coyotes, but the goal should be a stable balance between species. Not specifically wiping out coyotes to have more deer, rather, having a healthy number of predators compared to the deer. Another important thing to consider is the carrying capacity of the particular ecosystem.
