Shot two 6x6 elk this yr at 750yrds with the 215. They worked perfect. Both went 25-30yrds. 2845fps at the muzzle.

Does anyone have a 300 WM small base die? A 8MM Mag may would also work.

That's correct. Never used one before. Just trying to get the brass back to virgin dimensions. It's .002 bigger just ahead of the belt that new brass. I'm not sure if a small base will get all the way to the belt but that's my thought.

The case is blown out more from the last Chamber it got shot in. The bolt will fall at least have way with a 1 to 2 thousands bump in my other chambers. This is the only time I've messed with once fired in a custom chamber. The Chamber cut on this rifle is a MK248 MOD 1. It is obviously tighter than what this brass was shot in is my only guess now.

It's bumped back more than I need trying to get the base all the way.

I want the bolt to drop on its own. It has just a bit of contact. When I use a Sharpe on the case I can see a little rub maybe at the belt. Bolt is all apart by the way. There is a special collect die made for this but don't want to by it.

Not sure on the stw. I would think the 30cal would hit before you can get all the way down to the base. I have a new gun I'm trying to use some once fired cases in and the base is a tiny bit to big. The bolt close easy but still touches maybe a thousand or two.

Look at the weight you want to carry. I would go 300 WM but the weatherby is a great round as well.

Shoot the way you will shoot in the field. Rifles will perform differently if shot and held differently.

What contour barrel? What's it weigh?
