It makes me sick when I hear stories like this. If you cant hit the animal on the first shot dont shoot. We see it all the time. Videos of people shooting, and shooting, and then bragging about the range. I dont care if you hit it at 1500yrds. If you dont hit it on the first shot it doesnt count. We all can sing lead until we are luckey enough to hit the dang thing. Dont think im agaist LRH, I shoot long all the time, I just wish people woundnt shoot out side of the comfort zone. If that 100, or 1000yrds that fine.

Your better off with the Rock Chucker.

After neck sizing your brass (x) number of times, it will get to where your bolt gets sticky when you close your bolt. When this happens you bump the shoulder back just enough to allow the bolt to close with very little effort.
-
FL new brass, and then NS. I NS until I have to bump the shoulders back a bit.
-
I have had good luck with the Hornady brass. Keep track of how many times its been loaded. This will keep the neck tension the same from case to case.

The 5-0-5 works fine. You will need a good set of calipers. Case Trimmer. The equipment needed to just reload, and the equipment needed for precision reloading can vary a bit. It all comes down to what you want to put into your reloads/ammo. As posted before, try to have someone with reloading experience help you start your reloading.

I would loose the caldwell leadsled. Rifles will shoot a lot dif. if they are being held dif. than the way they are shot in the field. If you use that rest in the field then it would work. Sight in/shoot the way you hunt. IE- bipod / rear bag, rifle on a pack ect. Just my opinion.

Is the plunger sticking out, or is it stuck down in the bolt?

32 Never hunted this unit before. Should be fun, and I hope to see some animals.

308NUT is right about using a balistics calculator as the best means for finding the drop. The riflemans method is the cheap way to angle shooting as you wouldnt need to have a PDA.
-
A 90 deg angle is straight down. You need to use an ACI. Angle cosine indicator. Take your range say 380yrds. Then take your dope for 380. Lets say its 5.0 MOA. Then use your ACI and get your reading. If it reads .80 then you take 5.0 times .80. Your dope would be 4.0 MOA. This is the advanced riflemans method. It doesnt make a huge dif until you get out there a ways as you see. .80 is quit steep if you get to messing around with the ACI.

reloadersnest.com has some loads

The Tactical Rep told me that the Mark 4s are built with stronger internals. This would also explain why there is less internal ajustment ( MOA/MILs ) in the Mark 4s than in the V-3s.

I humped the rifle around all deer season this year. 4 days. It is heavy, but it wasnt as bad as I thought it would be. I wouldnt want to be climbing steep mountains all day with this rifle, but the way hunt and glass it wasnt bad. The rifle is shooting great. .270MOA @ 100yrds and 1.95in groups at 500yrds. .390MOA for those that cant do the math and like to crack jokes about magic bullets. I took my deer at 726yrds with the rifle this year. Its off to a good start in my opinion.

B&Cs ae good stocks for thier weight. We have one on a 300WM, and it is very nice. -
There hasnt been much going on in the long range shooting forums. Lets see some of those long range rifles. I will get it started. REM700 - 7mmRM

.270 MOA @ 100yrds .390 MOA @ 500yrds = 1.95 @ 500yrds How is that smaller.
-
Thats funny. Mine is shooting 300 SMK 93gr H-1000 3.810 OAL AVG Vel is 2852 with a 8fps spread. .270 @ 100yrds, and 1.95 @ 500yrds during load devlopment. The Edge just loves 91-94 grs. Enjoy your Edge, I sure like mine.

Never had a problem here. We have 9 REM700s and shoot them alot, and never have had a problem. The REM700 is the only factory action I will ever own.

What are the specs. You will love it.
