Finally after 10 years of chasing coues i've scored on a buck that i can really be proud of . On thursday met up with my dad in camp verde and decided on an area but was second guessing my self while driving in ,just seen and area that got my attention and set up camp ,never scouted the area before so got out and checked out the area and spent most of opening morning glasing and exploring the basin , when at the base of the mountain with 3 drainages running into it i found a small spring that was hidden in this canyon and was torn up with deer and javelina tracks , went back to camp grabbed my ground blind and set up about 75 yrds from this spring . 1st evening seen a mule deer doe at sunset ,decided to spend saturday in the blind all day ,climbed in at 6:30 and fought sleep til about 10:30 when the first white tail doe walked in that woke me up then another at 12:00 and one more at around 1:00 , then at 1:30 there walked in the biggest coues buck ive ever had the oppurtunity to take , a 75 yrd shot with my 25/06 and 100gr sierra handloads he dropped in his tracks , still hard to believe all these years and only a fork and spike to show forth i finally done it ,was glad my dad was there to share this with me unfortuntly he was unable to get a deer do to commitments on monday Did have the pleasure of meeting Atypical and his wife on there hunt ,they were the first ones i got to share my experience with , whats the chance of a couple e- mails and we happen to camp in the same area and thanks to the input i recieved from other members did go off on my own but your input was greatly appreciated

Went up spent couple days with my dad in 6a south scouting for my nov coues hunt ,holy cow thats a hole lot different than 36b , spent most of my time around west clear creek just trying to familiarize myself with the area unfortunatly did not see any coues only mulies , will be back up there this weekend hopefully find what im looking for ,very ruff country

Really appreciate that coues 'n' sheep i'm pretty proud of the old man , we've got cow tags in 10 'this year and confident on that hunt so my attention is gonna be on deer would really like to see him get one !!!

azhuntgirl its the nov 6-12 hunt 1074 , thanks for the info red rabbit , hoping to find an area where i can get my dad up on a ridge and be able to glass with out busting a** to get to , 30 yrs in the Marines '67 - '97 has taken a toll plus age but i'm not gonna say it to him haha he'll push to stay with me and i don't wanna make it a misserable hunt for him been about 6 yrs since he as killed a deer (in oregan) since he moved out here he hasn't had the chance yet so plan on spending alot of time by myself to find that ideal spot !!!!
