Who all made it up to Kaibab this year.

Here is a picture of my bull from unit 9. It's a terrible picture. I'll post a better one soon. My Webpage

If anybody has a easy way to post pics on here please email me. Not that I'm too excited to post the picture of my elk, just incase I need to post pictures later on of other animals. Thanks email coues14@aol.com

I believe the 447 bull taken in unit 8 this year is on Monstermuleys.com under elk. Good Luck in 7M Josh, that should be a great hunt.

I got a 310 bull Friday evening over water. I'll try and get some pictures posted.
-
300wsm, looks like I missed the only good year the kaibab's had in a long time.
-
Chad you still have tags to fill in unit 8. How many more?
-
.270 your totally right, this State needs every drop of water it can get. I happened to be in a tree stand and was getting poured on all Saturday evening. Not fun, but I did have an elk tag and there was no way I was going to stop hunting because of rain. In fact it will probably just make it better later. I had a much easier time sneaking up on the elk after the rain on Monday. Good luck archery elk hunters this weekend.

Red Rabbit I came back Monday afternoon after the morning hunt. I got College. I would have shot the bull that came in Friday evening but I figured I would have a couple more evenings to see what comes in. I said before the season it would have to be 340 plus and while he was drinking at the tank I guessed him at 330. My dad was in a treestand across the tank and got video of the bull. Now looking at the video the bull was probably 350. I didn't think it would rain that much. That ruined the evening tank sitting but the mornings were still great for chasing the bugles. Both mornings I cut off bugles and had them walk right by me. Saturday morning about a 370 bull walked by if he had both antlers, but one antler was a short stubby club so I passed on him at thirty yards. He was with a small three point and cow. Sunday morning my brother and I cut off another bull with cows. He walked out about 12 yards from my brother and stopped with the face and neck showing. My brother was at full draw and figured he would let him step out for a chest shot. The elk sensed something, went back in the trees and came back out to follow his cows at 50 yards. My brother shot broadside and guessed forty yards and shot just under him. It was a lot of fun. I'll be going back Thursday night Later Mike

I'm not sure if you can post photos off a video camera, but if you can somebody let me know how. I got some great video of a nice bull I passed up Friday evening.

The rain really stopped most of the bugling where I was hunting. Friday and Saturday morning the elk were going pretty good. From Saturday afternoon on the rut seemed over. Hopefully this week the bugling will pick back up.

CHD, this is a hunting sight. We don't care about a headless guy in Atlanta. That's a dumb@ss remark you gave to .270.
-
I vote all of the above. CHD, you've said to many stupid things in your days. Including on this forum. The best thing to do is change your name to dumb@ss and then we might reply to your questions.

While MD hunting this year about half the does I saw had twin fawns. Never saw a doe with one fawn only, that was unusual. Elk scouting I've seen lots of young ones as well. It does look like a better than average for the deer and elk.
-
Mathews Lx, make that one of the bows you try out. I shoot a Mathews MQ1 and I think it's as good as the Lx. Both bows are very quiet.

That's awesome, I always enjoy hearing of a lion getting whacked. Cant' wait to hear how your brother did on his hunt up there. Good Luck Hunting

Hike the steep hills where the deer feed in the morning and evening. The best time to go is in late Spring but not to late, it gets way to hot. It's tough looking for those antlers on north slopes with all the thick cover. I've gone days of hiking without finding a single coues antler. If you can find one antler a day it's a good day. Later Mike

A buddy of mine found a nice coues buck skull with the antlers attached in hardscrable canyon. If there's anymore deer like the one he found in there, you will have a chance at a good one. Later Mike

The bulls have started to bugle north of Flagstaff. I think the farther south the later the rut will start. Saw a large five point with five cows and screaming his head off. He better enjoy them cows while he can because that heard bull will be taking him over soon. Good luck hunting.

The archery deer hunt is about to begin in Arizona. Hopefully most of you have your bucks scouted out because all the fun starts this Friday. What units will you all be hunting this year? Who's going to hold out for the archery kaibab hunt? If you happen to arrow one this year post it here so we all can see it. Good luck this archery season.

That's too bad, that buck will probably never be found. I saw a guy in the woods looking for a deer over the weekend and he also wounded a buck but had no blood trail. It kinda sucks, you finally do all the right things to get a shot, but then with all the excitement when you get the shot a little jerk could keep you from finding your buck. I have an idea of where the buck could be wounded, just by areas I've seen some good size coues bucks in that unit. Good luck hunting this archery season.

VERY NICE BUCK. This buck couldn't be the same as the one in the pictures. Have you seen the other buck since those pictures or is he hideing to good right now?
-
Great Job Treestandman. I was hunting for mulies over the weekend and their numbers seem to be down this year. Saw a few nice bucks but not the monsters. These bucks are very hard to find but I know one of these seasons they will make a mistake. After six years of hunting them, with some close encounters I have yet to arrow one. I've also been sitting tanks in the evenings with no results. One of these days everything will come together. Good luck hunting.

If it was illegals that killed the man, I think it's about time to put a fence up along the border. Either that or open a year round hunting season for those suckers.

How long between pictures??

At tanks I set it for 2 minutes and on trails I set it for 30 seconds.
