    Big Huachuca Buck...

That buck almost looks non-typical with all that mass. That main beam looks very long with a good curl also. Is that a broken tine on the left antler? Thanks for the pic, that will fire every coues hunter up! If you can't see the picture, click back out to the main forum and try again. There was a red x, but not anymore!
  2. Chris, you have taken some awesome animals. I understand you apply for a permit in Utah, Arizona, Wyoming and Colorado. Do you put in for the trophy hunts, or mostly general season? How often do you get drawn for a hunt in each of those States?
  3. Nice bull, what does he score?

    Looking for quail

Unit 32 has plenty of quail. I see tons when I'm hunting for coues, even up in some of the higher peaks in the unit. Most of them are gambel's quail, but I have seen some mearns as well. Everytime I get a deer in that unit and have some time to burn, the quail hunting begins.
  5. Yep, I would have to agree three or four muleys would get lonely. Can't wait to see the others. I would be very satisfied if I could put everything together to get one of them. Thanks again for some great pics.
  6. That's one nice buck. Thanks for posting the pics. I put in for the strip every year, but after about four years with no tag I always put in for coues second choice. Coues deer are a blast to hunt. How many more big bucks do you got hanging on the wall?

    lions in 36b?

I've seen three lions in Arizona, two spotlighting and one during daylight hours about 8 yards from me. I wish I had a weapon on me to whack him with. That probably won't happen again anytime soon, that's why next month the dogs will be chasing them lions up trees.

    spring hunts

The game and fish says November 19th on the internet. You never know though, it could be earlier. I put in unit 18b for pigs this year, just for something new. Usually I hunt 19b and do pretty well. I really hope I get a turkey tag, I just love hunting those spring birds.

    34b toad

    Yes definitely!!!!! Pics Please
  10. Holy Cow! That buck is just PERFECT. Sounds like you put in the time scouting to harvest your goat. Great Pic! My goat tag will come soon, going onto year twelve with no tag.
  11. What an awesome buck Doug! Couldn't ask for a better backdrop for a pic. Congrats!

    How we do it.

That buck is awesome. He would be on the wall for sure. Thanks for the pics and story Bret.

    Unit 7 elk shed

The red X. They come up fine on my computer, I guess I'm posting them wrong where you can't see them. I'll have to figure that out.

    Unit 7 elk shed

These antlers are from many units around Flagstaff from this year. 5BN, 6B, 7, and 6A.

    Unit 7 elk shed

    More sheds
  16. Those are some real nice bucks. Wht Mt Man what does that buck score? Chris lets see a pic of that 13A buck.

    Who can score

About a 17.5 inch (inside spread). Just by the way it looks I would score it 108 because the points arn't that long. Can't tell if it's a three or four point.

    hunting from your back

Hey Ken, welcome to the site. I hunt 32 often during the rifle hunt in Oct and Nov. I see plenty of coues deer in 32, just go to the higher peaks and glass. Backpack into an area, and get away from the roads where the bigger bucks hang. You will see bucks running around in January, but getting in bow range is a challenge.

    snow in flag

It's getting colder and the flakes are really sticking now. I guess we could have three to six inches in Flag by 10:00 p.m. tonight.
  20. You forgot about another good area in Arizona for elk. 12A is now the trophy unit for big bulls. About ten years ago elk were no where to be seen. Lately the deer in 12A have really struggled, but the big bulls seem to be everywhere. Your chances of getting drawn are better than any trophy unit. Two 400+ bulls were taken out of there this year. I thought everybody knew 2B held plenty of trophy class coues whitetail. In Arizona, the game and fish has made "limited opportunity hunts." The "limited opportunity" (archery only) elk hunts are PRIMO. As said earlier those Winslow hunts are like no other. You won't even have to get a guide or even scout, it's just that good. I'm glad Arizona Game and Fish made another trophy hunt for non-residents, with the "limited opportunity" Verde Valley hunt in 6A, 19A and 21. It gives non-residents a very good chance at trophy class bulls.

    Big dead elk

Very nice elk. Bret do you happen to know the gross score? Looks like a 330-340 frame, but with some larger points on him that gross score will really shoot up.
  22. Your crazy lark. It would of been fun watching.

    big elk sheds

It's definitely Franklin's bull. He'll just have to see the pics and then he'll believe it. It's great how a lot of bulls in that unit have good non-typical genetics. It must feel great to be the only person in the world to find the previous years anlters off the p&y non-typical world record. What a find
  24. .270 let us know if you get a response from azgf. I started giving them my advice this year and I happened to get a elk tag after 6 years of applying. Not sure if that had anything to do with it, but no advice to azgf will never help.

    big elk sheds

WOW! I was looking for those sheds mid March. You realize how the rain can make such a differance in antler growth in this state. If you could, email some pics to Nick Franklin. That bull that went 447 was killed in unit 8 I believe. Josh, did you ever get any film or pics of that bull when he was around 470?
