Sounds like you guys did well, I would have probably taken a 350 on that hunt. But burning 14 points on that hunt I see why you were looking for the next size up. I'm guessing the rut had either slowed down in the area, or the bulls had a little education from the archery hunters that were in there the two weeks prior to your hunt.

Does anybody have info on the lighted sight pins, or other light sources on sights? -

I use the Spott Hogg Right On sight 0.19 pins w/ sight light. It's a awesome sight and virtually indestructible. The G5's look great also, and the best part about them is you don't have to adjust the centerline when moving the pins vertically. I don't think you could go wrong with either sight. -

Thanks! -
Congrats, looks like you had a great time!

Congrats Vini that's a good Tom. I hunted the NM Spring hunt for the first time this last weekend and had a blast. The birds did the same in my situations as well, they let out a couple gobbles and came in silent the rest of the way. Again great Job!

Some friends of mine shot a 107" and a 90" down in Mexico in December. They'll be heading down there again, but with my dad on the 11th of January. I'll try and get some pics.

Great story. Man I would of fell out of the stand due to a butt cramp or sleepy eyes, but you hung in there for more hours than I could handle in a stand.

What a Toad!

I use the Non-Typical deer cam. They were $279.00 now Only $99.00 probably the best camera you can get for the price and they work excellent.

It's going to be a 170 or better the first few days, no use holding out for something smaller. By the second weekend it will just have to look good in the crossairs. I'll be hunting mule deer...LOL. Good luck to everybody, hope to see some toads come out!

Good luck on the hunt Amanda. I'm anxious to get up to the Kaibab also, I'll be leaving tomorrow afternoon!!

Great buck, and thanks for sharing the pics. I would love to get a whitetail with a bow someday. Sounds like you did your homework. If you don't mind, why did the game and fish get involved?

The letter I recieved in the mail didn't say anything about the Elk/Buff population being low. If a non-res has never been in 12A/12B they probably think there's a good population of them. I think G&F wanted to inform the non-residents with this notice that there's very few Elk/Buff up on the BAB.....So after the season when the non-res complain about not seeing any Elk/ Buff the G&F can say they warned them. G&F got as many sales as they could before putting out this notice. They got all the money they needed.....warned the public after the majority of non-res bought there elk/buff tag, and now they have a very slim chance at harvesting either.
