Idgaf...It is my understanding that the political fund monies would be raised in several ways....Banquets and online raffles much like the existing wildlife organizations use...Donations from the existing wildlife organizations and local businesses and from private donors....I know they are looking at a large number of fundraising options......I’m sure they would be open to suggestions on how to raise money for that fund as well.....Hope this helps....Dave

A great deal of this post has already been stated by others but I an going to try and condense it and maybe just add a little too it. The recent Idea sounds great....It is doing for those states exactly what needs to be done here. But as you hopefully gathered from the article it did not happen overnight and it took a great deal off effort....( But in the end was well worth it ) As someone who has worked with the department behind the scenes on a wide range of issues some small and some rather large I will say this....YOU/ WE will face obstacles....The Department just spent a great deal of time effort and money simplifying and streamlining the licensing structure.... They dont like going backwards....But WE as sportsman have a very large voice...If ALL of us let the department know that this an absolute necessity it can be done... It will obviously take legislative action.....Again this is the state government we are talking about....The more things make sense the more difficult it is to get governmental approval.....But again a loud and large push from all sportsman can make a difference.... At some point and time it will require a group of sportsman along with the department to administer the funds...( I would think something like the HPC program ) So start thinking about how and who and what you might want that group to look like... And obviously a great PR firm...You dont want the department or a group of sportsman deciding how to get the message across to 70 plus percent of Az residents. And last but not least....The second part...Let us not forget that we need a fund to fight the political battles that will certainly come....Come up with ideas...Find solutions.....dont leave it to someone else....Lets not make the mistake of only wiping half our as#

Gary...I was relatively new to the organization at that time....( a new board member still in my first term )....I believe Allen Taylor if he is still around can verify the next part as he and I spoke at great length or I know Amanda and I had more then one conversation as to our position. I then like now see the need for a reliable funded source to fight the antis....But I was vocal in my dislike of the way it was being pushed through and the vagueness of the document I read....Way to much room for abuse...I spent many yrs as a union trustee and my job was to dissect city contracts and find ways to use them in employees benefit...I could have done virtually anything with the way this document was written.....And I let it be known.....Then like today I was not and am not a fan of additional auction tags....I see the revenue they can generate but until someone can show me beyond a shadow of a doubt that there is absolutely no other way....It will be hard to get behind....We as sportsman are not an unintelligent group when pressed there is not a lot we cant accomplish....It is my sincere hope that someone....anyone finds another funding source....I will say this I have no hidden agenda!!!!!....I have no issues saying what I believe and I dont expect everyone or anyone to always agree but thats what makes the country great...We all have the right to are own thoughts and opinions. Im almost 50 I am fortunate enough to have a wife and two grown kids that all love hunting and everything that the outdoors have to offer...I hope to someday have grandkids that I can hunt with....I just hope there is something left to hunt.....If you feel you need more information feel free to ask away.....

Idgaf...who is the ADA gentleman you are referring to....I am the Vice President of the ADA and if there is an issue I need to deal with I will do so....But need to know who it is

I would like to take a moment on behalf of the ADA to say thank you to those that attended last nights meeting. I would also encourage all of you to attend as many of the Q/A sessions that conserve and protect schedules as you can. There were many ideas brought to the form and it sounded like many more had been E - Mailed to conserve and protect...It is my hope that everyone gets the answers to their respective questions....It is also my sincere hope that a common ground can be found and we as sportsman can continue to enjoy The sport we so desperately care about.

The group I was referring to was the watchdog group formed in 2012 to make sure this did not happen again...I was curious as to what happened to them....Game and fish had a representative in the group but per the department they have not met since 2012...

You very well could be right about the P and R funds....I know the department receives funds but not sure how they are used....

Kent....Tge monies raised would be used to educate the approximately 70 plus % residents of Az that don’t hunt but don’t have an issue with it either....These are the individuals that that need to know that the department knows what is best for both game and non game species in the state....Not some outside group with there own agendas....If we can educate non hunters that hunting is very necessary to maintain healthy herds then just maybe the groups that want to end hunting won’t / can’t get their required signatures....This can all be done by the department without getting into a political battle......monies raised outside of tag auctions/raffles can be used to fight the political fight that more then likely we accompany the education aspect....But can be fought by someone other then the department....Without using tag monies

Kent I do have a question for you....You stated you were very involved in the 2012 debacle.....If so what happened to the group that was formed to prevent this type of effort from ever happening again....If memory serves me correct the group was also going to look into ways to do exactly what this group is attempting to do....Find funds to do the things that need to be done...and do them in such a manner that the average sportsman was not taken advantage of.... In looking through the many many pages of post from then a very large number of participants from then are the same participants now....What happened to the group that was out to change the world.... I ask this with all sincerity....If once again the sportsman of this state turn this attempt back....What then ?....Do you all just walk away till next time ? where will the funds come from next time One of the 27 known anti hunting groups come after your ability to hunt....Will it be left to ?.....will you leave it to the department......The same department that most of you believe is the most corrupt agency in the state....The same agency that up until this yr could not even correctly run the draw process....The same agency that has done little to nothing to this point....I am asking because I don’t know the answers myself...

Kent...I am not on the HPC board/committee although I attend the meetings on a regular basis ...I am acting as a representative of the Arizona Deer Association as we have placed monies into the HPC fund I along with a representative of every wildlife organization that has also placed funds into the account have a place at the table and we as a group along with representatives from the department decide how and where the monies are spent. There is a tremendous amount of information on the process far to much for me to type. If you like call me I would be happy to explain in detail has the process/ system works.... I gather my info from individuals I trust to provide me with the correct information and from over 25 yrs dealing with the local wildlife organizations and the department. Is my information always correct not at all. But I have no issues admitting that I don’t know it all. I try and provide information for others in order to help them make informed decisions. I would always recommend that someone go straight to the source many of these questions could be answered by calling the department directly... I have done nothing more then state my understanding of the concept and how it might work....I do not speak on behalf of the Arizona Deer Association ....My posts and thoughts are mine and mine alone.I take full responsibility if my answers are incorrect......But if that is the case I will always try and find the correct information.....As I have said many times I don’t care where the monies come from....SOMEONE needs to find it we as sportsman have many battles on the horizon and they won’t be cheep to fight....

Krp ... not sure where your getting your info....For the last several yrs I personally have sat in a room at the Department and helped decide where and what projects get funded along with a member of every wildlife organization that put money into the HPC fund...No one is feeding me info...If I have a question I call someone who I think can answer the questions.... Grey please tell me when the ADA changed the start time to anything. This is are first board meeting since the news broke and we asked them to attend on sportsman’s behalf and answer questions....

6:30 start time......I will make this request as an ADA board member....We have asked conserve and protect to attend and answer your questions....If anyone has any intention of doing anything other then conducting themselves in a professional manner Dont Attend...If at anytime individuals from either group becomes argumentative or aggressive in anyway the meeting will be stopped.
