I had 4 different badlands packs and used them hard each season for several yrs. from the first season to the last everyone of them went back for zipper repairs EVERY YEAR. The best part of it was every year when I called to complain about it the customer service gal would tell me I was the first person she had ever had that had a problem with their zippers. It was comical....The problem was worse when it was below 15 ish degrees out. Do an internet search there are hundreds of pages of zipper complaints.....Not sure how they stay in business.....I finally gave all mine away and bought a good quality packs

Why is it we as hunters think anyone else should schedule their events around hunting season. With some type of hunt going on almost year round it would be virtually impossible. It is PUBLIC land....Hunters have no more claim to a timeline then anyone else does....Hunt weekdays you don’t have to deal with the weekenders.....

WTB: New, Unused Game Bags For Elk - CLOSED - GOT SOME
azelkhunter2 replied to eddielasvegas's topic in Classified Ads
Want bags that will last forever....Davis tent in Colorado takes the cut offs from the canvas tents they make and makes bags out of them. I have used them for 30 ish yrs. The last sportsman show I was at I bought 20 of them for 5 bucks apiece. You won’t find a better game bag for ten times the price. -
Berger VLDs Let Me Down - Suggestions???
azelkhunter2 replied to rossislider's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I had virtually the same thing happen out of a lazzeroni warbird on a bull several yrs ago. I had numerous conversations with the tech guys at Berger and was told when shot out of a big fast caliber they don’t always penetrate but instead blow up on impact....I now use them on deer size game but shoot either accubond or ttsx on big thick skinned game. -
Just in time for those late elk hunts.....

More then likely it’s an African sulcata. Very friendly for the most part.

If you are transferring water or any other non flammable liquid you can use just about any pump out there. If you are transferring ANY FLAMMABLE LIQUIDS absolutely do not use any pump that is not designed to handle combustible/ flammable products. If you do it’s only a matter of time before you kill yourself and those around you....

Their has been two elk and two mule deer tags for quite a while. In the past the deer tags went to both the ADA and the MDF and the elk tags went to AES and RMEF. ADA auctioned their tag here in the state and MDF held their event in Utah. That was until last yr when one of the elk tags went to the new deer group AMD. So with three deer groups in the state the deer tags are now awarded in a random draw. For 2020 the ADA and MDF were awarded mule deer tags. I know AES received one of the elk tags and I’m not sure who got the second one. It is my understanding that RMEF will no longer participate in the process after what took place last yr.

Actually a number of the critter groups in the state are trying to reduce the number of auction tags across the board. While keeping the number of raffle tags the same
-
I could be mistaken but if this gentleman is who I think he is he has spent over 1 million dollars on auction tags in the past several yrs in Az alone....
-
So are you opposed to all guided hunts ?....I only ask because as someone who has been in the industry for over 20 yrs what you described takes place numerous times each year on both draw tags and over the counter tags. If an outfitter does his job well and with a little luck a huge number of hunts end opening morning/day.....With the hunter only getting into camp the night before......Is it the money aspect of it ? Or ?
-
I can’t speak for this particular hunt but I have been on or associated with a large number of both the raffle and auction hunts since their inception. A large number of the hunters are in the field a great deal especially the raffle tag hunters. I personally have seen a few of the auction tag hunters spend several weeks in the field enjoying the hunt just like any other guided hunt. Regardless of how you feel about the auction tags keep in mind every penny raised stays here in the state and has funded 1000’s of projects that otherwise would not have been done. And contrary to what has been posted in the past it absolutely stays in the field. It does not pay salaries or buy new trucks or pay for fishing related projects
