Yep, that's a Badlands Stealth. It's great for a daypack. Holds a lot of stuff and has a strap on the outside for holding a bow, but I use it to secure my tripod. -
I have a leafblower.

They have adapters that will mate your camera to the eyepiece of your scope / binocs so you don't have to hold it while snapping the picture. This is a good site for learning about new cameras. http://www.dcresource.com/forums/index.php?

North American Deer Slam
DesertBull replied to Shiras's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
In November, their rutting period, they come down off the mountains and are actually hunted on the beaches. So I'm told. -

I leave on Friday for my Sitka Blacktail hunt. If you ever decide to go for it, look up Johnnie at Muskeg Excursions http://www.muskegexcursions.com/ -
When I say "short", I mean short draw length. For I am vertically challenged.

North American Deer Slam
DesertBull replied to Shiras's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
There are land owner tags in Cali for Tule. If ya got money to burn. Chuck Adams has taken P&Y animals of ALL NORTH AMERICAN big game animals, not just deer. He used to hold the P&Y World Record for Coues Deer, taken on the San Carlos. I wonder why they break blacktail and mule deer into to seperate catagories, but Whitetail deer, of which their are several different sub-species, are only catagorized as Coues and Whitetail? -
I used to have a bow that would shoot around 250 fps with a hunting arrow and broadhead, but it was so finicky about shooting form that I found it almost useless for hunting. It was an older model PSE. I am sure the new models of bows are much more forgiving. My current bow is a Buckmaster that shoots around 220 fps at 65 lbs. My short draw length (26.5") makes it difficult to get up to the high speeds a lot of guys are getting, but that's ok because I don't really take long shots. My next bow will be a Bowtech because they are short, chubby, lefthanded guy friendly.

Are new guns crap???
DesertBull replied to Kilimanjaro's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
I don't think new guns are crap, but every once in awhile, you get a lemon. Now you get to let Beretta prove just how a good a company they are by standing behind their product. As most shotgunners know, Beretta is one of the oldest manufacturing companies in the world. They have been MFG'ing for over 400 years!. You don't stay afloat that long by crapping on your customers. http://www.berettausa.com/about.htm -
I've never seen anything like this before and I don't understand it at all. Anybody have ANY clue whatt his is all about? http://www.fearthelanguage.com/

Wow, that's too bad. Just be thankful that it was not worse. A lot people get killed or paralyzed every year from tree stand falls. Maybe we could all pitch in and get you one of those Draw Lock thingys!

I can't blame a company for selling thier product to the highest bidder. That's how oil and gas are sold, on the open market. The oil companies do not set the market value. Now, if they all got together and said we are not pumping any more crude because we want the price to go up, then that would be a whole different situation It's no different than a rancher taking his cows to market and selling them. He doesn't say, here are my cows, they are $50 each. He brings them in and the buyers bid on the cows. If there are a lot of buyers and just a few cows, the price is going to go up along with the price of your Double Whopper with cheese. If there are a lot of cows and only a few buyers, the price is going to go down. The problem right now seems to be that we cannot refine the oil fast enough to keep up with demand. Add to that the fact that there are more "buyers" at market now in the form of developing Asian and South American countries. China is driving up the price of almost all natural resources. Checked the price of steel, iron and aluminum lately? Also, There are many many more cars on the road today (and the cars are bigger) than there was 20 years ago, but there are the same amount of refineries. When you get lemons, make lemonade ..... buy stock in Texaco!

I was going to look for a bear on Friday. Not now.
-
That was my first impression, but there was an ad in the last Eastman's Journal promoting it. Reminded me of that video game where the animals have the guns and shoot at the rednecks.

In less than 24 hours, you could drive to what's left of New Orleans. I guess not getting drawn for a good hunting tag is not all THAT important. I say, if you were willing to give up $25.00 for a deer tag, you should be able to give $10 to help out a human being in the South. http://www.redcross.org/
