Forest are closing
DesertBull replied to DesertBull's topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
I would love to go back there and see a tree stand hanging. My only decision would be to either take a dump on the seat or tie a rattle snake in the branches above it. -
Forest are closing

I am about ready to sell all my cams and give up. I just got back from checking on them and another one was stolen. That's two in 6 weeks and it's not like they are near the road or trails. The cheap some beaches even stole my $2 salt block. I knew it was gone the second I started hiking down the trail and saw the quad tracks. It's a two mile to the remote spring I have had this cam on . I would love to just catch one of these losers, just once. Not sure I could dig a deep enough hole in the rocks to bury his/her body completely though. -
Huge habitat improvement project in 6B
DesertBull replied to Rembrant's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
I hate to see people lose their posessions, but the fire is good for habitat. In a couple of years people will be complaining about all the elk and bears in the canyon. -
That's what I applied for too but was DENIED! Good Luck!

I do not know enough about her to say yea or nea, but maybe if we started using biological fact to manage wildlife in Arizona instead of economical/political gain, we would all be better off? If he really did say that about her "young family", that is a friggen embarrassment. Everytime someone gets caught with their foot in their eating orafice, they claim they were taken out of context. Also, I have emailed this Pete guy several times about AZSFW and he has never once responded.

I'll be hunting the elusive JACK SQUAT in NM.

Everyone thought the Rodeo Fire was a disaster too, and it was for the people that lost homes and businesses, but I see more elk and deer in there now than ever before. I think that big fire they had on Mt Lemmon was the best thing to happen there too. Not the houses lost, that was terrible, but just for the health of the mountain. There are ALOT of Coues in that burn now. I heard they were letting at least one of the North Kaibab fires burn.

It now says on the NM website - " applicants have until midnight MDT June 24 to change their credit card account information." Why did they change that? How can you change your card info on the 24th if the draw is complete and results to be posted on the 21st?

Sorry to hear that, but God works in mysterious ways. You don't know what might have become of you if you would not have had such a first hand experience with drinking and abuse. Look at all the people that grow up in seemingly wonderful households that end up losers at life.

The one I had used a tape player for a hard drive! You had to rewind the tape to load a file off of it.

Television and video games will cause your kids more brain damage that falling off their bike and cracking their dome on the curb. -
It seems like it's been two years since I sent them a check. What takes them guys so friggen long? Maybe they still use Commodore 64's to process the apps in NM?

How much should I expect to pay....

Hee Hee SUCKER! -
for new Winners Choice cables and strings installed and which shop in the valley? Please don't say Archery Headquarters or Bear Mountain, for personal reasons. Is the Sportsmen's Warehouse pro shop worthy of time and money? They are the most convienent for me. 2 cam bow (actually it is a Hoyt cam and 1/2) with a split harness. Thanks!

They could up the odds for drawing an antelope tag real quick by making one change. If you apply for early elk, sheep, or North of the Co. River deer, you cannot apply for antelope.
-
If you make it a 3 year wait, by the end of the 3rd year there will be thousands not able to apply for bull elk. It sure cannot hurt the odds. But if you look at it from the G&F viewpoint, those are thousands of $5 app fees lost.

Yes, they would have to determine which units and species would require a waiting period and which ones would not.

After setting up some cams over the last few weeks on desert water holes, I realized that the dove opener and the archery deer opener are on the same day, Sept. 1st. I finally realized this while seeing all the shot gun hulls around the water tanks. Should make for some interesting confrontations. BTW, dove = flying liver, YUCK!

The last time I went dove hunting I saw 5 guys in a lowrider cruising around the perimeter of the orange grove with guns sticking out through the sun roof. The drive had his sticking out his window and it was a scoped .22! I was hunting where the Power Ranch community, just north of Queen Creek now sits.

I think it is the right thing to do also, but with the new 20% pass rule,I think you are going to see most if not all max point holders draw out in the next two years, assuming they are actually putting in and not just buying more points. The other option would be to do as Utah does and only let you apply for either a deer, elk, or antelope tag. Not all 3. Alot of people that apply and draw sheep and antelope tags only applied because it was easy and cost only a few dollars. They had no expectations of drawing the tag, it was gravy. And isn't it abut time they made rifle antelope tags a once in a lifetime draw? The odds of drawing a tag are actually worse than some sheep units.

I don't sit stock tanks. They smell like poo and are over run with flies and mosquitoes.

What a freaking scam. We've had over a month to get the apps in, if you wait till the last minute, too freaking bad. I just know some last minute rhinestone cowboy with a pink Stetson and a pair of lavender Justin Ropers is going to pull my Kaibab Carp tag and my unit 1 Bull tag too!

OK, we have established our culinary tastes. Does anyone else think that opening the archery deer and dove season on the same day stinks? I just know I am going to spend all summer scouting out the water only to find a bunch of scattergunners shootin the place up on opening day. At least they have to quit shooting by noon and maybe the deer will come into water after they leave or in the evening. I don't want to get into another "Game and Fish s?cks" conversation, but what was the reasoning for moving the archery deer season back?
