Coues n Sheeps baby pic
DesertBull replied to Huntn coues's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
My kid is better lookin than yours! -
It (the 10% deal) used to be for only the primo muley hunts. Now it is for all deer hunts. I doubt if it even comes into play for the Oct/Nov WT hunts. Maybe some of the Dec hunts that only offer 50 tags hit the 10% quota though. You can call the Phoenix G&F office and ask about it. It's public info, they have to tell you. Or for $25 you can order a print out of the bonus point breakdown from last years draw.

AZGFD Hunt Recommendations
DesertBull replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Thank you for your time. I think when you hear the "they never listen to us" comment, most are refering to the Commission and the bean counters, not the biologist and such. IMO anyway. Thanks again. -

Flagstaff Public Comment meeting
DesertBull replied to coueskiller's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
They release the recommendations yesterday, then schedule a public meeting for tonight with no announcement? NICE! -
OTC archery turkey dates are the same time period as the elk and deer too. I think some bear hunts might overlap too.

1300+ tags on the Kaibab hunts again. I guess they "found" some more bucks. Disgraceful. -

Any More Cool Trail Cam Pics
DesertBull replied to GameHauler's topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
That stinks. I've had that happen to me twice. Makes ya want to rig up a fake cam with skunk scent inside. Open lid, get sprayed in face! -
My son's first rifle was a Savage Youth .308 I had a break put on it. It was very accurate. I liked shooting it myself. He killed 3 carp with it before we moved on to a full sized rifle (Tikka).

If you are willing to climb, it can be very good. See those avalanche slides to the north of the ski runs, in the dark timber, up above Hart Prairie?

Unit 8 smokepole tag!!!
DesertBull replied to anthonyrmatthews's topic in Muzzleloader hunting for Coues Deer
I have a ML'er tag too, but not for elk. ANTELOPE! Unit 18A. -
Whitetails are much more territorial than mule deer. They should be close by I would think, if there is ample food and water available.

Could you imagine paying $5K for a dog and having him get whacked by a truck two days later? I think I would have to get him lifesize mounted and set him on the porch, just to feel like I got some of my moneies worth out of him.

Looks like FirstCoues stepped in some soft dirt to me. -
Shoot the arrow/broadhead combo that shoots best in your bow and don't worry about the weight.

There usually some good bulls along Canyon Creek, in the burn, during the rut. You have an awesome tag.

I got both of those in California. I was just commenting on their tastiness. They are a very worthy game animal if they are truely wild.

AWESOME!
