No More Motorized Retrieval Az Big Game

Closing roads will only effect those of us that obey the laws. The outlaws will still drive down every two track or even make their own, just like they do now. Feds love to make new laws, but they never fund the enforcement of them. Just like whent hey passed the Brady Bill, then made the locals pay for it's implementation.

What is hicking? Is that when you roll up a pack of smokes in the sleeve of your dirty white t-shirt, throw a 6 pack of Pabst Blue Ribbon in the cooler and go frog giggin?

Archery deer hunting close to town

You just need to get out there and look around. Take a look at some maps and find some water tanks, streams etc away from the roads. In the desert, where there is water, there is game. I would not put a camera on a water tank though, unless you like giving them away to thieves. Been there, DONE THAT!

How can you enjoy it with all of the trash? It's a disgrace. It seems like you are hunting at the city dump.

    AZ Apply Online

The secret to getting a tag now is to include a little note in your envelope that says you are a PETA member just trying to get a tag so you can burn it and the save the life of a beautiful critter. If you want a GOOD tag, you must also check the "donation" box on the application.

    AZ Apply Online

I tried 2 times and I got an error both times. Not surprising.
  10. I was under the impression that the large increase in fees was to help with the pay rate, among other things.

    Copper fouling

Kroil is AWESOME. Put a lot of that stuff in your already cleaned barrel and let it sit overnight. In the morning, run a borebrush down it a couple times, then a patch. You'd be amazed at what will come out of a barrel you thought was clean. Doesn't remove copper, but digs out all the powder and plastic. J-B paste will remove stubborn copper deposits, but it might wear down your rifling if you use it too often.
  13. The December 33 odds have been 6-8% for the past 5 years, after the number of permits was cut from 200 to 100. Kinda making me reconsider it as a choice. You are right. that hunt is tuff to draw. We should all stop putting in for it........ So i can have it all to myself. I've seen those odds, for almost all Dec hunts, and haven't even tried drawing a tag. I've stuck with Nov. hunts. Rife hunting that time of year sure sound like fun. I may have to start putting in for those hunts. I was talking about the October and November hunts which are 55% and 47% respectively. Those odds suck compared to 36B which are 100% and 94%. A lot of people have stopped hunting the border units.
  14. Talk about sucking, the odds on Dec 22 & 23 went from 25% to 5%.

    Wolves on the Mogollon?

Now that's a great point. Where's the wolf hunting opportunity?

    Wolves on the Mogollon?

We already have a new predator in the eco system that has taken the place of the wolf. It's the automobile. It kills more animals than any pack of wolves could ever think about killing.

    California Hog Hunt

You can get on a ranch pretty reasonable. $400-600 with high success rates. Meat is great and the hunt is fun.
  18. Well, I have to go to San Diego on the 9th of June for the first of 7 straight days at a rented beach house; grilling tuna steaks, sipping 'Rita's and Pacifico, fishing, snorkeling, beach babe watching, etc, etc, etc. Life is hard, but what can ya do but take it one beer... errr I mean... day at a time? So, maybe next year! Have fun. Maybe Casey will let you pet his kitten rug? (j/k, I would have shot it too!)

The ambulance chasing lawyer has convinced the family that they can receive a monetary settlement from Wal-Mart, IMO.

    Unit 8 smokepole tag!!!

It says right in the regulations to get access in the unit before applying for the tag. You can expect to pay a trespass fee at the very least. Try getting a state land map and see if there are any sections of state trust land that have public roads going through them.

There is a name for that ......SUKKA!

    Favorite part of hunting?

For me, the preperation for the hunt; scouting, range work, going over maps, etc...is a big part of my fun. It prolongs the experience from a 5 day hunt into summer long adventure.
  23. Already pushing more gun control. I'll bet they are disappointed in their polling efforts though. 50%+ think MORE GUN RIGHTS are the way to go, even after the Va Tech ordeal. http://men.msn.com/articlepollgc.aspx?cp-d...50&gt1=9311

    North Kaibab recommendations

Sorry, I disagree with that. Given the choice of taking themselves or their kids hunting, a lot of adults would choose to take themselves. Plus, it gives me another chance to get out of the city and into the woods! You do not have to be the one pulling the trigger to have an awesome hunt.

    North Kaibab recommendations

IF they want to give more youth tags, which I agree is a good idea, why not just give 3-5 either sex youth tags in every unit that does not already have an established youth hunt? That would have little tono effect on the population, let a lot of kids hunt, and save the Kaibab deer until the study is complete. Either that, or take more of the general cow elk tags and give them to the youth. The kids don't care if they are hunting does on the Kaibab or cows on rim, they just want to hunt something. Seems to me the dept has been riding this Bridger Knoll fire for many years. Time to quit beating that horse, it's dead. The Kaibab herd is the most valuable asset the dept has, why are they bent on destroying it?
