This is bullcrap
DesertBull replied to DesertBull's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Fixed it, sorry. -
I think some people get more satisfaction out of the draw process than actually getting drawn for a tag. I, myself, would rather see my odds improve drastically for one good hunt per year, than apply for 10 tags I have little chance at drawing. As a person who would much rather hunt deer than elk, I could see deer draw odds improve greatly if we had to choose either elk or deer to apply for, but not both. I get no satisfaction what so ever out of applying for tags, only drawing them.

I would be all for it, except that like mentioned above, G&F would never do it because of dollars. Actually, I would prefer a modification of Utah's method. Antelope or Sheep plus Deer or Elk

Probably one of those people that think Rib Eyes grow on a vine. -
I think with water as scarce as it is right now, they will chew on anything with moisture.

Oil is sold on the open market. It cost what refineries are willing to pay. They bid against each other for the product. There is no oil store where Exxon sells their oil at a fixed rate. 10 years ago China, India, South America, etc were not driving cars and had little to no industrial sector to their economy. Today, these economies are growing at uncontrolled rates (mostly because American companies are being forced overseas by high taxes, stifling environmental regulations, and high priced labor). These new economies need energy and other natural resources. Did you know that steel prices have risen even more that fuel? Same with aluminum. Are the steel companies "out to get us" too? China is buying all the steel that get their hands on. That drives up the price. Know why China is buying? Bridges, roads, factories, etc. When those are complete, they will be demanding even more oil / gas than they are now. Energy prices are not coming down. Todays prices ARE THE GOOD OLE DAYS. Bingo. Last week the EPA shut down 3 refineries. 2 more were shut down to make the switch to "summer blend", also a product of ridiculous Gov't over regulation. Where is the gas coming from when 10% of the nations refining capacity is on "summer maintainence"? Our gas consumption is up ~30% in the last 25 years. Our refining capacity is up only 3% and that is from improved refining methods, not more refineries. The treehumpers think that ethanol is the answer. Well, right now it takes more energy to distill a gal of ethanol than it gives back. If I were the president of Mexico, I would be building refineries right across the US border. Giving a much needed boost to their economy, actually creating jobs that could lure people INTO their country, and stop the exodus. They have as much or more oil in Mexico than many of the ARAB nations. Yet they don't take advantage of it. They would rather send their people over here to work for $3.00 / hour and risk their lives crossing the desert to get here. -

Good for them. They have a product that is in high demand and limited supply, has high overhead cost to produce and deliver, and highly regulated by the Gov't. They took the risk of buying up oil rights when crude was selling at less than $20 / bbl. Now, it is closing in on $70 / bbl and they are reaping the rewards of their investment. They employee thousands of people with good paying jobs and good benefits. If our Gov't was operated as well as Exxon, we would all be a lot better off. As a stockholder, I would be ticked off beyond belief if they sold their product at below market value. Can you say brainwashed? Who decides market value? High demand maybe, but not limited suppy! C'mon Desert bull wisen up. -

SWEET! Don't have a tag, but a good friend has one in unit 7W. Hope some rain made it down that way too.

I've heard you can tell the difference between black bear poop and grizzley poop by the smell. Black bear poop smells like berries and acorns and grizzley poop smells like pepper spray and Goretex.

Dear G&F, Just give me my Unit 33 December tag and I won't sue. Sincerely, Desertbull -
The G&F spray the tags with bear repellant before selling them.

Making huge amounts of cash has nothing to do with being a monopoly. If you think that Exxon is a couple fat guys sitting in Texas, smoking cigars, and counting their money you are wrong. Exxon is owned by million of different people, many of which are everyday working guys and gals, like you and me. IF you have a pension or 401(k), I'll bet you own it too. Plus, they employ hundreds of thousands with good paying jobs. There is nothing wrong with an American company thriving. I wish more would, like our auto industry. Just think, if the unions would not have ruined this countries auto industry, maybe we would have less expensive, more durable cars and trucks and gas priced would not be as big of an issue. If your car payment was 1/2 of what it is now, you'd have more money for gas. -

This is what people don't understand. Big oil does not set the market price for oil / gas. So, to put the blame on oil companies is just a cop out. Plus, there is nothing illegal about making a profit. How are you going to tell a corporation that they are breaking the law by making a profit? Instead, how about the fact that the greenies have made it almost impossible to build a new refinery in this country? Not one new refinery has been put into product in the US in 25 years, yet we all know that there are many more cars on the road than 25 years ago, just in the USA. Now, each state has their own laws on what type of fule can be sold within it's borders. Cali has their own blend, so they take up a lot of refining capacity to make fuel that can only be sold in California. AZ has different blends that are sold at different times of the year. Those refineries have to shut down to make the switch from winter to summer gas. How about we have one nationwide standard for gas? Guess what? Try to make that change and you will have every tofu eating, Birkenstock wearing, non-bathing, ALGOR worshipping, dreadlocked hippey in the country sueing to stop it. Percentage wise, the price of an elk tag has gone as much or more in the last 5 years, than the price of gas. -
this country has gone to hell!

Our own John McLame is the major force behind this new amnesty bullcrap. How a Senator from a border state can so pro-illegal immigration is astonishing. Yet, people still keep voting for this guy. Don't understand. -

Guess what, beer is still more expensive than gas. 6 pack of Bud (~1/2 gallon) $5 Premium unleaded $3.40 per gal -

If you are focusing on the target and not the pin, as most top shootsersagree you should be, you don't even see the vertical post. It is as though the dots are floating in air. I have the Trophy Ridge Matrix. I really like it. I never thought a site could make much of a difference, they all do the same thing, but I have noticed improvement since switching.
