Dog Fighting Like Hunting?!?! What?!?!
DesertBull replied to redline410's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
I agree on to an extent. PETA is getting all kinds of air time and "legit" status coverage, but I eat the animals I kill. I don't torture them, big difference. I actually heard one newscaster today mention that Vick murdered the dogs? huh? If he would have just had them put down humanely at the vets, instead of taking pleasure in finding various ways of killing them, he would never have seen jail time. It's not he can't afford the vet bill. Also, he did not actually do alot of the killing, from what I read. His "friends" did it, but he knew what was going on. Dog fighting is a barbaric activity in it's own right, but the trouble for Vick came after learning of the ways he disposed of the dogs. -
SWEET! Don't let Brent measure it. He is math challenged after he gets past 20 (10 toes and 10 fingers). Nate has 6 toes though, he is a little better.

Well, I didn't burn alot of BP on this one, only 6, but it's the only tag I drew.

Any suggestions. I've spent the last 3 weekends up there and have seen many bucks, but ZERO shooters. I 've checked these areas so far: Williamson Valley Road - One buck seen, many houses and lot's of posted land. Looks like there should be many more goats here that there are. Chino Wash - Several bucks, all dinks so far. Lots of water here though and the grass is green and thick. Markham Well / Sugarloaf Mountain - Most goats of any place I've checked. Only big one I saw was was on the XI Ranch and off limits. My next stop is Truxson flats and spots off of US66 headed to Peach Springs. Anyone know of any out of the way areas that might hold some goats? I'm getting desperate. THere's got to be one biggun in there somewhere. The rut is starting to kick in, maybe that will bring a big one out. One note: I looked at an estimated 200 antelope in 3-4 days of scouting and saw ZERO fawns and 15-20 fat coyotes. Sad.

http://www8.garmin.com/support/blosp.jsp Reload the GPS software. It fixed mine when I had the same error message. I didn't lose any waypoints either. You can also save backups of all your waypoints with most mapping software.

Congrats! I hope you don't have a problem selling your house. My neighbors house has been on the market for 2 years. -
That's either a new belt, hatband, or 1/2 of a new boot.

37b is my turf. I have seen a few Coues in there over the years. Saw a small buck last year. I think there is a nice buck in the photo section of this website that was taken in 37B a few years ago. -

If they send you tags, they don't usually send your money back too. -
It was natural for me. The first time I picked up a rifle, it went directly to my left eye. Same with a bow. Even though I am 100% RH'ed, I could not even imagine trying to aim with my right eye. I would probably get dizzy and fall over. You'll never reach your true potential shooting RH'ed, IMO.

I have the same problem. Do yourself a favor and get a LH bow.

Marshall, that is impressive. Nice story! I recognize some of those places! You should befriend the unit 23 WM so we can get those bear spots worked out! -
Well, I made the long run up to Truxson Flats. Huge, open country, but Lopes are few and far between there. Seems like there should be many more antelope there. Saw what looked to be a decent buck, but he was real far away with rain coming down hard. Several average bucks also, but nothing worthy of the tag, IMO. I still have hopes of hunting a mid 80's buck, I know for a fact they are in there.

Hopefully, On Friday, he will be standing in that spot again.

Zeiss or Leupold. Wait a couple weeks and save up another $50 if you have to, it's worth the wait and extra cost.

I might be wrong but, I think you have to hunt at least one day on the ranch you purchased the tag from. If there are no bucks on that ranch, you can switch to another ranch, but you have to get a game warden to assign you a different ranch. You are not free to hunt wherever you wish. Good luck.

Not on Fain Ranch it won't... ... Those are the most educated goats around. We have had good success spot & stalk and good success in blinds over there. We always hunt the "condos".... my huntin' buddy works the ranch so we usually have our pick.... The last hunt I was on over there, my boy had the tag and had hunted for about 5-7 days spot & stalk without scoring.... he came home all bumbed and hit me up to go back with him.... I had to think about it for oh... about.... 1/2 a second! heck Yeah!! We had to leave late that morning, cuz I had a meeting... got there about noon... had a buck on the ground before 3 pm.... It was a Frickin' hoot! That was my boy's second 19A buck. Too bad the Good 'Ol Days are gone.... It sure was the greatest place to hunt at one time! I have hunted that country a bunch..... and Matthewp45.... I can only give you one piece of advice about archery goat hunting.... there is nothing wrong with completely missing..... it is when you barely miss your mark and have to chase a wounded goat that you reallize how important the phrase Aim Small, Miss Small is.... I've watched it happen many times over there, and was fortunate that it never happened to me..... I hope that you can have the same good fortune. Good Luck. CnS Last time I had the tag, I chased a decent buck with an arrow sticking out of his neck for 3 days. Never got him. You're right about the decoys on they Fain, they don't work.
