I've been reading on some other sites that eastern guy take a leak in the scrapes they find and the buck come in on a string. If we take a leak in the woods, do we have to walk 400 yards to resume hunting or will we be sited for baiting?

No so. When I had my mule I'd point her in the direction I wanted to go, then give her head and relax. She found the best trails AND game for me. When she stopped and looked, she usually had found a deer, pig, or whatever long before I saw it. Best of all, she packed out everything I shot (except a bear). It's no wonder that nearly half of the people taking this poll so far have checked the button for "mule." Bill Quimby Better not say that too loud, mules might be next on the "can't use" list.

The fear is, if you give up something that seems insignificant, like the corn, next year they will want to take something else, then the following year something else. We've already seen it. Move rifle tags to October was the 1st step. Then move archery elk tags to Nov. Now we are facing a draw for archery deer tags and have lost some December archery hunts. It won't stop at outlawing corn or salt. -
I fished on that boat in Sept 2001. Caught (5) 10lb silvers in about 2 hours. It was a well run trip.

When Mr Ordway 1st brought this up last year, I believe he said it was because he feared bad publicity in the non-hunting public over baiting, as the main reason. -

We are most likely going the 1st week of July. Either Ketchikan or Wrangell. It's a combo get-away with the wife / fishing trip. 1 day on a charter, for either halibut or salmon and 2-3 days of fishing the local streams and lakes. The rest of the time will be devoted to relaxing, taking pictures, hiking, gorging on salmon, oysters, dungeness crabs and Alaskan Ale and seeing the sights.

If you "jump in and get your feet wet", make sure have on your waders, cause it gets deep in here sometimes. -
Isn't Wyoming getting ready to allow wolf and Grizzly hunts? I'd be all over a lower 48 grizz hunt.

I have an appointment on Friday for my 1st exam. I wonder how much $$$ for them to implant the Swarovski 10x lens?

Thanks! Couple more ???'s Anyone have any experience with Redington or TFO rods? Good, bad, or otherwise? Are large arbor reels worth the extra $$$? Are weight forward lines the most versitle?

Matty, did you see the boars that Arrowslinger and the gang wacked at Tejon ranch last week? Pretty impressive. -

NM does it, why can't we? G&F says it causes too much burden. Why is it too much burden for rifle hunts but not archery? -
ATV's, Quads, Four Wheelers, & shedhunting
DesertBull replied to AZantlerhead's topic in Shed Hunting
I don't think there is any difference between a quad and a truck or a jeep as long as they are on the roads and trails that are they supposed to be on. I use mine a lot, but only because I don't like beating up my truck that I drive everyday. -

BLACKTAIL/BLACK BEAR COMBO ANYONE?
DesertBull replied to mattys281's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
Kirk, I don't even know what I am doing next week, let alone next fall. It all depends on what I draw, or more likely, don't draw, here in AZ and in Utah. Right now I am trying to plan summer fishing trip to Alaska. I have a butt load of air miles with Alaska Air that I need to use. With my air miles, it's cheaper for me to hunt / fish Alaska than it is to drive to NM, Cali, or Ore. Did you draw your Oregon spring bear tag? -
AZ's own Endangered Species Act
DesertBull posted a topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Did anyone hear of the bill that would establish AZ's own version of the Endangered Species Act? http://www.azleg.gov/FormatDocument.asp?in...lls/hb2853p.htm Or how about the bill that would require every commercial round of handgun and assault weapon ammo sold in the state to have a serial number on both the bullet and the casing? -

Why don't we all just carry a camera in the field instead of a bow or rifle? Then all tags can be over the counter and everyone is happy. -

Probably when that info is free instead of costly. -
Let me put it like this....Bait is used for fishing. So then, if I bait up a carp, you're ok with it?
