"Ya officer that white crater in the ground that my stand is exactly 20 yards from is one of those naturally occurring salt craters. Yea it is right next to that naturally occurring Apache corn. " and 30 yards from the unnatural water source placed here by the game and fish department that attracts, habituates, and domesticates game animals every bit as much as a friggen salt brick. -

Do you know any history on the dog? Was he turned in by the owner or just lost? -

Bull poop. 150 archery kills in ONE UNIT? What was that Mark Twain said about statistics? -

Tony, What? You mean to tell me that other states don't allow bating? Holly molly I thought the Arizona Game and Fish was really stepping away from the norm if it was going to ban baiting. The states you mentioned seem to be pretty good company... Thanks for the post. Redman It was the Antis that pushed for banning baiting AND USE OF HOUNDS in Colorado and Oregon, not hunters. If you don't think the use of dogs will the next thing they go after here, once the baiting is taken away, you are not paying attention. These people are not stupid, they know that they cannot get away with the banning of all hunting, but they can take a little bit away every year until our numbers eventually dry up and die. WAKE UP! -

I watched Extreme Bulls 5 yesterday. Very good, as always. Not on par with #3 and #4 IMO, but still good. This one has more gun / ML'er hunts than the others. -
I've been reading on some other sites that eastern guy take a leak in the scrapes they find and the buck come in on a string. If we take a leak in the woods, do we have to walk 400 yards to resume hunting or will we be sited for baiting?

No so. When I had my mule I'd point her in the direction I wanted to go, then give her head and relax. She found the best trails AND game for me. When she stopped and looked, she usually had found a deer, pig, or whatever long before I saw it. Best of all, she packed out everything I shot (except a bear). It's no wonder that nearly half of the people taking this poll so far have checked the button for "mule." Bill Quimby Better not say that too loud, mules might be next on the "can't use" list.

The fear is, if you give up something that seems insignificant, like the corn, next year they will want to take something else, then the following year something else. We've already seen it. Move rifle tags to October was the 1st step. Then move archery elk tags to Nov. Now we are facing a draw for archery deer tags and have lost some December archery hunts. It won't stop at outlawing corn or salt. -
I fished on that boat in Sept 2001. Caught (5) 10lb silvers in about 2 hours. It was a well run trip.

When Mr Ordway 1st brought this up last year, I believe he said it was because he feared bad publicity in the non-hunting public over baiting, as the main reason. -

We are most likely going the 1st week of July. Either Ketchikan or Wrangell. It's a combo get-away with the wife / fishing trip. 1 day on a charter, for either halibut or salmon and 2-3 days of fishing the local streams and lakes. The rest of the time will be devoted to relaxing, taking pictures, hiking, gorging on salmon, oysters, dungeness crabs and Alaskan Ale and seeing the sights.

If you "jump in and get your feet wet", make sure have on your waders, cause it gets deep in here sometimes. -
Isn't Wyoming getting ready to allow wolf and Grizzly hunts? I'd be all over a lower 48 grizz hunt.

NM does it, why can't we? G&F says it causes too much burden. Why is it too much burden for rifle hunts but not archery? -

I don't think there is any difference between a quad and a truck or a jeep as long as they are on the roads and trails that are they supposed to be on. I use mine a lot, but only because I don't like beating up my truck that I drive everyday.
