He should look back to what Clinton did in his 1st two years and learn a lesson. Clinton went gonzo to the left and the American people threw 1/2 his fellow Dems out of Congress. That forced Bill back to the center and he ended up winning another turn. -

Anyone know of any AZ lion guides that do hunts on a stand-by basis. Don't know if that is the correct term, but basically they call you when the conditions are right and you go hunt instead of having a set date? By the way, if you Google "cougar hunt", be careful what links you click.

The stress of this economy is starting to take some of my enthusiasm away. Everytime I start thinking about the upcoming archery hunts, pig hunts, etc, I end thinking that I should probably save every dime I have, just incase.

I wasn't saying we should or should not open the mine, I was just saying that falling copper prices will continue until the economy turns. Are these mining companies required to return the land to a somewhat original state when the mining is done or do they just close down and leave all their big holes, rusty equipment, and crumbing structures? Believe me, I am for using our own natural resources rather than import them. -

As the world's economy slips into recession, the price for almost all commodities will fall. We've already seen the price for a barrel of crude fall more than 50%. Adding another mine won't help bring the price of copper up, in fact, it will add more copper to the market, helping keep prices down. -

Yeah, they sold out to the Japanese for a fraction of what they could have got if they had had waited. There is not a tree left standing on their land. -

If you think that is bad, you should see what the Native Americans in the Tongass did. -

I agree about the strip mining, but is there any evidence that gas wells kill all of the deer? BTW, the Pickens plan calls for cars to be converted to NG. Where do we get the gas if we don't drill? People said all of the Caribou would be gone in Alaska when the pipeline was being debated. Didn't happen. In fact, the haul road is a favorite destination for DIY hunters now. Still, the point is, the park acreage is protected, the surrounding area is not. -

Let's see, the NP are, rightfully so, protected, but now everything AROUND the park is to be off limits too. How far of a buffer zone? What about a buffer zone for the buffer zone? We could go on and on about this. The area around the parks is not protected and it is to be multiple use. Everyone wants gas, oil, timber, etc, but no wants to cut down a tree or dig a hole to get it. How come we don't protest the Arabs drilling in the gulf, after all, we only have one earth and the water and air in the Persian Gulf is the same water that laps the shores of our beaches and we all breath the same air. -
