Bear Arms and Protest
DesertBull replied to youngbuck's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
The 2nd Amendment is and has always been about protecting ourselves from a tyrannical government. It has nothing to do with hunting, target shooting, sport, etc. The First Amendment gives us our basic civil rights of free speech and free religion, etc. The 2nd gives us the means to keep those rights. The order of the Amendments was not random. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QTTd_0RY3OM...feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7USOgUb6Hu0...feature=related -
What is this rifle worth? Pre 64 Win

If the barrel looks like the action, you would probably be looking at another $500 on top of the cosmetic work, just for a new barrel. -
You need to make sure that they have the time and resources to do the things they like to do also.

Bear Arms and Protest

Almost every appointee and czar that Obama has picked has an extreme anti-gun history. Including the newest supreme court justice. We still have 3.5 years of this joker. He will get into your gun cabinet before it's over. The only reason he has not said much about it yet, is because his fellow lib congressmen asked him not to because they want to get re-elected. -

Two years ago my friend and I were hunting pigs down around Florence. My friend had just killed one and I took off around the hill to see if I could catch up to the herd. When I rounded the hill, I saw 3 of them on the opposite hill, looking down in the wash. Then I see a hawk come out of the wash, with a football sized javelina in it's talons. It took the poor little fella up a 100 feet or so and dropped it. When the pigglet hit the ground, the heard took off and left it. None of your stories holds a candle to the one SBD could tell you. -

DesertBull replied to azhunter85's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
that's cool. I just went Lope scouting with my friend from Cali who drew a 19B tag with 5 or 6 points. He had his lab with him too. We saw very few bucks and nothing of any size. -

Sorry to hear that. Maybe try one of the companies doing loan modifications? Good luck.

I don't think 10 years is too young. It all depends on the parents and the maturity of the kid. Heck, I know some 40 year olds that should not be within 100 yards of a BB gun.

Question for all you bear gurus
DesertBull replied to BML's topic in Black Bear or Grizzly Bear hunts
If you have a choice, take an evening hunt over a morning one. They seem to come out fairly early in the evening, like 3:00 to 4:30 pm, but they often are already gone by the time shooting light comes in the morning. -

They usually favor the acorns over the pears.
