Who applied for UT elk? I applied for the "mid" season rifle on the Manti and Mnt Goat. I have 14 points for goat. When I started applying it took 6-7 to be guarenteed a tag. Now 17 points gets you 5% chance.

If I Wanted a water hole or several to myself i would put a camera in plain sight and just remove it when i got there to hunt. With that cxmers there, no one can hunt that water. Sweet.

The sad thing is they pass these new rules all the time and never enforce them. They know the majority will abide and they live with the few that wont. By impressive do you mean lots of meat loss? Just curious as I am working up my new 300 WM. Ive got 200 212 ELD-X Im trying to use but if I cant get them to shoot the 215 or the newer 200.20x Bergers will be my next choice. I will only be using this 300 for elk. I use my 7RM or 308 for all deer hunting.

Deer will tear up some Ol' Roy dog food. Its 70% corn.

I don't know about the urban deer, but there is a herd of urban pigs I chase each December and they are the most skittish animals I have ever seen. You can't get within 100 yards of them. They run at the slightest sound. They might be used to living around humans, but they are super scared of them.

I bet you the G&F get more complaints about animals eating flowers and gardens, harrassing or killing their pets, crapping on their lawn, etc than they get about bowhunters too close to their homes.

What were some of the rule changes proposed?One change had to do with trail camera's, I didn't catch all of it so I'm not sure if it was within a 1/4 mile of a trail camera being near water or a 1/4 mile of being within a trail camera but your weren't going to be able to take wildlife near a trail camera. Another one that caught my eye was it looked like they were going to make archery fall within the 1/4 mile of occupied structure rule just like firearms. Those were just a couple. Man, it's almost impossible to get 1/4 mile away from a trail camera these days. Its a stupid idea to begin with. More elitist snobs trying to push "thier way or the hiway" ethics

AZ is better than some other states. UT app period just ended and results wont be out until May 31st. They don't even tell you how many tags will be alloted per hunt.

If i lived in CO, UT, ID etc I would be selling guns and wives to get one. Ive had several spotters and always end up selling them because i rarely use them in areas i hunt.

I dont see these taking the place of my 25s but a lot of people dont like spotters because they find it hard to glass with one ete shut. Ironically, if you just take a couple of hours and sit down with a spotter you can teach yourself to glass with both eyes open. Just make sure your dominate eye is in the glass.
